JMO...Shanaan was her parents little girl and her death is just as horrific as her children's deaths. CW is a monster who took the lives of four precious individuals.

Let's not forget; when he murdered Shanann, he also murdered Nico! None of it is understandable, all of it is brutal, selfish, and are horrible crimes (each by itself)!

The records supervisor at the Frederick Police Department told CrimeOnline on Thursday that the entry in the discovery report showing that Nichol Kessinger performed a Google search for Shanann Watts on September 1, 2017 is a typo.

CrimeOnline reached records supervisor Amanda Purcell on Thursday after repeated inquiries made to multiple Colorado law enforcement agencies to confirm the accuracy of an entry in the Phone Data Review included in the discovery documents connected to the Chris Watts murder case, released by the Weld County District Attorney’s office late last month.

Asked if the entry in the Phone Data Review showing that Kessinger, who was involved in an affair with Chris Watts when he murdered his wife Shanann Watts and two young daughters, showing that Kessinger performed an internet search for “Shanann Watts” on her cell phone on September 1, 2017, was typographically correct, Purcell said it was a typo in the report.

Purcell was not able to provide additional clarification about another section of the phone data review that indicates Kessinger searched for Chris and/or Shanann Watts prior to beginning her relationship with Chris Watts in the spring of 2018, and referred our inquiry to the Weld County District Attorney’s office. CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.

That's a pretty big typo to make. Why was it put into a timeline of events if not relevant? I doubt a search made on Sept 1, 2018 would be relevant to the case. Didn't they collect her phone prior to Sept? How would a Sept 2018 search show up if they collected her phone in Aug?
And what about the search for CW in Aug 2017 and search for SW in January 2018? Were those typos too?

No I didn't hear her say "retarded". What I was saying is that the officer kept asking her about texts regarding CW and his kids and she just kept going back to talking about her friend Charlotte's grief. Rambling when he was trying to get specific answers from her. She also kept saying Charlotte didn't make the connection that murderer Chris was NK's Chris when there was a text that clearly stated she did realize it was the same man. None of it matters in the grand scheme of this case. I don't think she was involved. It was just an observation regarding her personality which I find self serving and off putting.

I heard her say, “Noooooooooooooooooo, nothing like that!” Every time he asked her. When she was able to focus.

Why would you think CW has OCD? Where is it written in the discovery documents? So Shanann kept the home clean for him? So was it CW's habit to clean into the wee hours of the night BEFORE he murdered his family?

I noticed the "likes" and "all that stuff" and "you knows" disappeared more when he was talking about something factual he could speak truthfully about. He spoke with confidence and in a much more assertive tone. For example, the details about SW's delayed flight, talking about the weather in Phoenix. Talking about her direct sales job. Doorbell cameras. Gadgets. His protein shakes. His favorite t-shirt. Watching Sportscenter. You could see a palpable sigh of relief and his whole body relax when he was able to talk about something he didn't have to lie about. And the "likes" dwindled.


I feel like she acts like an immature person because that's who she is. Vapid. She could have married CW and she would likely be a spoiled, immature, vapid 30 year old and 40 year old. Many people get married later in life these days, or have children later or not at all, for a variety of reasons.

Being single and/or childless at 30 or 40 or beyond does not make someone emotionally immature, not have empathy, or be considerate and loving toward others. It's so easy to inadvertently shame single or childless women and that is so unfair. NK is a self-absorbed, selfish woman. I think that's exactly who she would continue to be if she married CW or Jim or anyone else. I have a hard time believing marriage and kids would magically transform her.

I agree it doesn't, but sometimes it happens. I was only saying what my thoughts are on NK - that's it nothing more.

First off not hoa dues, assessments, totally different. Secondly, they had the house before they filed bankruptcy. Third, the Lexus was paid most months by Shananns company. Lastly, the only person who said they were in debt is a lying liar, who is jail for lying, oh, and killing his family.

I dont think they were in serious debt, but I do think they were over-reaching themselves financially. IMO the private day care for the two girls may have pushed them over the edge eventually, unless they downsized and /or reduced other outgoings. Perhaps that's why they were planning on downsizing, perhaps they though private day care more important?

I was with a man for a few years that could not adult. He turned me into a controlling person because I was put into the positionon of having to manage his life because if it was not managed it affected me. I ended it, thank goodness. But controlling has many seasons and reasons and degrees.

Exactly. I call it "filling the vacuum". I had it in my marriage, I had to fill the vacuum when something popped up that was clearly his department yet zero was getting done. Sometimes in emergencies on a boat. Sometimes going to speak to someone face to face to clear up a business deal or misunderstanding instead of writing a wordy fax, which he would rather have done.

I can see that Shan'ann probably got tired of his not doing anything on his own, at home, and just started assuming all the responsibility herself, given him directions to do things he could not see had to be done, but also propping him up with showers of kind words trying to cover for him or change him.

Good points. IIRC, around Sept of last year is when he started losing weight and working out.

Not sure when the affair started, but someone's motor was getting revved up before June or July of this year, IMO.

Any theories on why Watts would have been dragging the body (presumably SW's) toward the front of the truck rather than just hoisting her into the truck bed? Seems risky to move into potential camera view!

She and her father made a few jokes about how much she talks, evidently since she was young. 400 words a minute, something like that, a joke. I think she's just used to being in control, and maintains that control by talking a lot, hence the detours into macros, CW's weight, bunkbeds for the girls, showing them how to paint a flower pot, whatever. She really talks a lot, uses many non-word sounds and extends one syllable words into two syllables to extend her control of the conversation, and is so unaware of what others are thinking that she doesn't even realize they (we, some of us anyway) are staring at her in horror as she blabbers away while her boyfriend, someone else's husband, killed 2 babies and their mother.

I wonder if she is ADHD?

You're in my wheelhouse now! I just wrote an article for Huff Post about the war on pain pills and how it affects the chronically sick.

I know, off topic. But, my pain scale is on average a 7. A good day, it might be a 4 or 5. But I have more bad days than good. Where I live, I can not even get 1 pain pill. I can't even get my migraine medication anymore, which is not an opioid. I live on advil, which doesn't even take the edge off. So here I sit, bedridden because doctors are scared to prescribe pills for those who need them. When I was able to get them, I lived a pretty normal life. End of rant, sorry mods for o/t.
