Page 22 of discovery - Officer Goodman supplementary report - he notes that at 2am (14th Aug) he was trying to put together the missing persons report and he phoned CW several times and all he got was dead air. CW called him back from his work number and never asked if there was any news.

Somewhere else in discovery it says that at 2am CW was playing phone tag or something like that but I haven't got the page number, that's just from memory. Probably the section near the end where they put together the texts in sequence.
Thank you! :)

Pretty amazing really to think he was probably awake all night the night of the murders, 12/13th, unless he set his alarm to wake up at 4 (wouldn't surprise me  ), then awake all night of the 13th going into the 14th - he was on the phone with NK after 2am and Sandi called him at about 4am and he had to get his cleaning done and the sheets washed before the Thayers came back at 9am, then he did media interviews and the dogs searched and he went to the police station evening of the 14th / 15th until 0030. Then he's picking up his dad from the airport at 9am on 15th and straight to his polygraph and 'confession'.

I timed it, it came out to almost 4 minutes exactly. So CW would have been on the phone with the detective until at least 2:09 AM.
I'm trying to imagine the scenario: CW was talking to NK on his cell phone until 1:59 AM at least. At 2 AM, the detective calls CW's cell phone and CW doesn't answer. At 2:05 AM, CW calls the detective from his work phone and talks until at least 2:09, and during that call, CW calls NK on his cell phone at 2:06 for a minute (one minute into his phone call with the detective). NK listens in for 1 minute, (until 2:07) and then I'm guessing the call dropped because NK calls back immediately at 2:07 and CW answers his cell phone, yet he's still on his work phone with the detective (and does not mention to the detective that he's also been on the phone with NK for most of their call). CW talks with the detective for at least another 2 minutes. Then CW hangs up with the detective and continues his call with NK for another 9 minutes.
Is that right?

The video lasts for approx. 7 minutes and starts at 1:59am. So the call must have ended by approx. 2:06am. I don't think CW could have called him at 2:05, I think that must be an error or a vague approximation.

My mind is swirling. I know we have the video that says 1:59 but I wonder if there is another page in the documents with more specific times-- like the phone log of the detective's phone? The start time of the phone call make a big difference.

Here's the video again:

But he look terrified the day before. When he was watching the neighbor’s security camera recording he couldn’t hide his fear, when LE arrived, when he was questioned by anybody on that day, he looked ready to run for the hills! No duper’s delight on that day.

I wonder what happened between then and the next day to change his demeanour? Maybe he took some sort of anti anxiety drug already in the house, it wouldn’t surprise me if CW or Shanann had been prescribed meds in the past - something seemed to have calmed him down. Having said that - he was still pretty jittery at some points during the interviews, particularly the Denver7 one imo.

I think the day before he thought it was about to be over for him right then and there. Then when LE left and told him to let them know if he hears anything (per one of the videos of them all inside the house), he thought maybe he'd gotten away with it after all, and he just had to go put on the right face for the cameras and make it believable. Dummy.

Here is the reference to the Watts family talking about the letter that supports their contention that SW was unstable.

'Not a monster': Chris Watts' parents defend son who murdered family

about 1:50
Thank you so much scdiv! I was searching and searching for that very video where the letter was first brought up by the two newscasters. In my earlier reply to a poster, all I could link to was the DA's reference to the letter, and he hadn't heard of it, lol. :P

Pg 331 (Discovery pg 378) says "Kessinger became concerned on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, after Watts family had still not been heard from or located, so she contacted law enforcement in order to advise law enforcement of her relationship and offer possible assistance locating the missing persons."

I am not sure if this means she called LE on the 14th or if that was simply the day she became "concerned." We do know that it was the day she erased all evidence of CW from her phone.

MOO
I'm sure she deleted everything before she made that first call to LE. I don't remember if it was later in the day on Tuesday that she called or on Wednesday. I know she said she spoke to her father before going in to speak with them. Did she call on Tuesday and that's when they told her to come in the next day or did she call on Wednesday and then go in? Is it in the Document? I know we discussed this but I am still confused about dates.

2:05 AM CW calls the detective back on his work phone and explains there was something wrong with his personal phone
2:06 AM CW calls NK on his personal number and holds a 1 minute conversation

Not sure if this has been posted, but CW told Troy McCoy on Monday morning (when they were out at Cervi) that SW left her wedding ring on the counter.

So putting the above all together:

Aug 14, 2018
12:08 AM CW calls NK and holds a 31 minute conversation
1:12 AM NK calls CW back and holds 3 minute conversation
1:51 AM CW calls NK and holds an 8 minute conversation
2:00 AM Detective tries to call CW and only hears dead air
2:05 AM CW calls the detective back on his work phone and explains there was something wrong with his personal phone
2:06 AM CW calls NK on his personal number and holds a 1 minute conversation
2:07 AM NK calls CW back and they hold an 11 minute conversation

-------
How long was the 2:05 AM conversation with the detective on CW's work phone? If it overlapped with NK on the personal phone, I wonder if CW was letting NK listen to what the detective was saying? Hmmmm.....
Wow.

Spot the lie!

There was nothing wrong with his personal phone because he was just talking to NK (but of course he couldn't say that to police).

And the fact that even when he did call back, he didn't immediately ask about his family. He doesn't even know how to fake concern. Imo

watching the canine videos again, I think you might be I'm just something. Watch where the dogs are barking.

For most LE a dog barking is not an alert. All the ones I have seen are trained to immediately sit on the spot.

I read through more of the 2nd discovery last night. I believe this is where the NUA interview is, she talks about SW wanting to mow the lawn in order to make CW happy. At 15 weeks pregnant, with lupus. It made me feel so sad for her, that she thought this was necessary.

My DH asked why none of her friends or family (who were so loving toward her) told her she needed to leave him. I said that, up until the last few weeks, they probably only heard good things about him, or saw him playing the part of a kind person. If they knew the true emotional torture she was going through, they surely would have advised her to leave (SW's mom did ask her to stay in NC on that last trip). NUA ended up mowing the grass so SW wouldn't.

I used to hear things like, "He's so great, he feeds the kids!" or something along those lines, from single or unhappily married friends in regards to my sociopathic ex. It's crazy how little the expectations are on men to do the basics as far as child rearing. Even now, in my current marriage, I hear how lucky I am because we're equal partners (that's not how it's stated by others). I am lucky, but we work at it! He's lucky too. I am kind, but I don't coddle. There would, without a doubt, have been someone out there waiting for SW, who would've been able to handle her maturity and vibrancy. It makes me livid that the chance to find him was taken from her and her children.

I thought he had referred to the purse and keys as being on the counter. He specifically said her ring was there too? I don't remember seeing that, but it's been awhile since I read it. I thought he told everyone it was on the nightstand. Imo

It saddened me so much when I listened to NAU interview, and found out that she had downloaded the same book that he had thrown in the trash and was listening to it during the trip and on the airplane. That just broke my heart.

Shan'ann was trying to the end, even reading the book, to save her marriage, whilst CW had other ideas, which he carried through.
MOO.
