Im rewatching Nicole Atkinson's statement and i find it weird that her phone was found on the couch outside the bedroom. If she was in bed sleeping she would sure put her phone on the nightstand beside her right?
I believe CW said, in the confession of 18 February, that he threw the phone onto the couch.

I wonder if CW's parents knew about NK before the killings? I doubt it but was it ever mentioned? That must have hit them hard if they knew it either way before or after.

Certainly Ronnie knew about it before CW confessed it to the interrogators. When Ronnie came into the room, CW said to him, "I told them about the affair." He knew. Precisely when he knew is another question though. I'm guessing it's probably also before the "liberated myself" text regarding deletion of facebook account. But that's just a guess.

When CW got to the house (police and NK were there), the first thing he did was open the passenger front door of Shanann's car and he ran his hand along the floorboard.

He then ran into the house and was in there for more than one minute before opening the front door to LE.

He was doing something inside her car, IMO, and he was doing something inside the house for that minute plus before he let LE into the house. I've considered he may have put her phone in her car after he murdered her, and was going to stage things later with her car, but had to change plans when NUA called LE.

I think he put Shananns keys back in the Lexus so he wouldn't be caught with them on his person. IMO he was planning to stage her car

He sure evaded that question in the 18 Feb confession, pretended that he had forgotten whatever he had done in the Lexus.

Pommy did you ever run across a written translation of his interview with the CBI/FBI? Once I tried to listen to it but couldn't understand a word.
No, I didn't. I didn't have any trouble listening to it, though. Have you tried to find another source for the audio? MOO

I could not understand much of it either. Do you have a good audio source?

These are of CW and we were talking about the Ronnie interviews. At least that's what I thought we were talking about :)
Yeah, Ronny. I can listen now, since I turned the speaker all one way, that is no bass. It's mostly stuff against SW anyway. But he does claim that CW told him in NC that he didn't love SW no more, but from what I could understand, he said CW hadn't told SW.

I thought the phone was found in the cushions. I pictured it being hidden more than just lying on the couch.

I think NUA described it one way, as her son found it down in the cushions IIRC. Then on the 18th Feb the detectives didn't seem to put any detail into it, just (IIRC) asked him how the phone got on the couch. I don't think they put much emphasis on it, I don't recall them asking if it was turned off, etc, which I think NUA said it was.

I don't think for a second that Ma Watts knew about the affair - she would have thrown that in Shannan's face for sure when nutgate went down.

I think CW actually capitalized on the estrangement resulting from nutgate. That way he could tell the Watts clan and his best friend how he had finally seen the 'shady' side of Shanann and was divorcing her, while keeping Shanann, her family and her friends in the dark.

No doubt Ma Watts was thrilled about her boy leaving his pregnant wife and little girls. It must have been hard for her to keep the joyful news about the divorce and her son's affair to herself.

Interestingly, CW penned a letter on 8/6/18 and gave it to his sister: "If anyone gets this letter, I would never do anything to hurt myself, my children or my wife. If anything happens to me, please investigate my wife." This was same day he also told his best friend (Jamieson) that he was done with Shanann. So IMO, this proves he had decided to murder his family at least one week beforehand. He planned for his own family and friends to back up his story about how his 'spiteful' wife took his 'beloved' daughters from him, never to be seen again.

CHRIS then told JAMIESON in text messages that he had seen the true side of SHANANN and was done with her, and didn’t want to be with her anymore.

And I believe this was planted in him from Ma
Watts

Watts
No doubt his toxic upbringing played a role in him turning out to be a monster.
But I don't believe his parents or sister had any idea what he was going to do.
I think his mom was hoping they would divorce and everyone would move back to NC, so she could have her son back to herself and see her grandchildren more often.
His mom should have known better since the new girlfriend he was leaving Shanann for was in CO and also because he had coldly cut them out of his life when he married Shanann, having no use for them.
I'll bet anything it was Shanann who reached out to them after Bella and Cece were born.
I really don't think Cindy Watts knew her son at all.
If she had, she would have talked him out of it.

SBM.

That letter still perplexes me. Such a stupid and novice letter- “if someone ate a cookie out of the cookie jar it wasn’t me”. Thou doth protest too much.

Anyway, Tammy and Coder didn’t ask him about this letter last month did they? I don’t remember it if they did. I wonder why they didn’t. It is such a strange piece of the puzzle and certainly does show premeditation. They asked about whether it was rage, etc, but never addressed the letter.

Just wanted to add that I believe Ma, Pa and Sis Watts deserved to be cut off by him when he got married for they way they treated Shanann. It's just that IIRC, during the prison interview, he mentioned how he blew up at them and told them he didn't need them anymore. That's another sign of a psychopath IMO, that it came so easily for him to abandon them since they weren't of use to him anymore.

Unfortunately, they didn't ask him about the letter or the doll pic.
