JMO, I can't imagine lying to LE about anything, but to deliberately lie to the FBI? That's very serious stuff and JMO, she did it with impunity.
She is strange. First of all she's 30 yrs old and brings her dad to her interrogation. Then rambles on and on and says nothing of value. If something touchy is brought up she deflects and changes the subject. She really controlled the whole process. When the investigator brought up something her dad didn't like, he calls the investigator by first name and says"your leading". She tells the investigator to leave --- alone. Was this a strategy to let NK and her papa go on like this?

SW had a more supportive family than did CW, and also more than NK apparently does. I think a lot of people and sites have overlooked that both CW and NK had planned for "him" to keep the kids for 8 days at a time with his new work schedule. They both mentioned that, (without bothering to tell the children's mother, of course) and that she was going to teach them to paint flowerpots:rolleyes:. 50-50 custody doesn't work like that with small kids. I can't imagine a schedule more disruptive. With a 3 year old, 8 days is a year or two. And NK, while bearing his new baby boy  was going to be vigilant of the 3 other step-children's health for 8 day stretches?

Oh I almost forgot. They weren't sure if they would be a couple and were going to take it slowly.

But she was really acting as a goodwill ambassador of sorts. She encouraged him to work on his marriage when he was in NC. She was also trying to help him find an apartment that was close to Shanann and the girls' school. Never mind that she didn't know where Shanann was going to be living, or where the girls went to school.

This is beside the point but I think it would have been hard for Shanann with 50/50 custody and the kids having a step mom esecially one like NK. I know I wouldn't like it if it were me
We’ll never know, but IMO SW would have done far better dealing w/a step-mom to her kids than most women do. Because of her overall positivity and tendency to like everyone/not hold grudges plus she would never put her own interests/grievances ahead of the girl’s best interest.

Unless the step Mom did anything to jeopardize the kids well being. Then SW would be a force to be reckoned with.

Yes that was kind of her to encourage him to work it out with his wife while she sent him nekkid pics of herself. Have I pointed that out before? Lol.

The contradictions and the fuzzy thinking that was going on is beyond comprehension.

I'm sure some might be jealous of a 5 week "romantic" sojourn, but those 2 together with all their toxic baggage, lies, and creepy behavior. Yuck. Poor Shan'ann, sadly she drew the short straw with this horrible creep. How could she have known he was so vacant and evil.

Agree. If she had known, she would have gotten out. I think he's an actor and I also wouldn't be surprised if he acted his way through the entire prison interview, just to see how much he could get away with. JMO.

The obsession with NK is strange IMO.

I think If NK had anything to do with the planning and carrying out of the murders then we would know about it. LE would have taken some kind of action against her. But that hasn’t happened.

I’ve never had an affair with a married man. But if I had, and his family suddenly disappeared, I too would absolutely have deleted anything and everything that had to do with our relationship. Before joining Websleuths I was clueless about the justice system and I wouldn’t have given it a moment’s thought as to what I SHOULD be doing to be an upstanding witness. That would be the furthest thing from my mind. My immediate reaction would be to save any embarrassment and scrutiny that I could muster. Sure, LE would have been pissed at me for deleting things, but that doesn’t mean I was conspirator or accomplice to murder for goodness sakes!

If anything, I see NK as another victim of CW. He spewed lie after lie to her, too.
NK is a lot of things. But she is not a victim. She got involved with a man when she knew beforehand that he was married. She also knew his wife was pregnant with their THIRD child. Yet she craved that attention. I am also convinced she was carrying on with “Jim” at the same time. I think she may be a real hustler.

Fearing what others thought of her is a pretty good indication that she knew what she did was immoral. If she wasn't ashamed or embarrassed she wouldn't care what the public thought. She was very concerned about other people seeing the texts between them as well as the pictures. That seemed to be her main concern. She made it pretty clear she didn't want that getting out, as they were "pretty raunchy."
I think she was more concerned with her reputation than anything else. I got the impression she just wanted to get everything over with so she could forget the whole thing and get out of the public eye, which is exactly what she has done.
I don't think we will hear anything more from her, at least not if she can help it. She's done a pretty good job so far of being inconspicuous. Imo
Could it be she wasn’t worried about her reputation at all, but only that Jim might see the pictures?

Geesh. Maybe he was the reason she was looking at wedding dresses

I am not sure that CW and NK would have been together long enough for NK to become a step monster. I do believe one thing she said---and that was that she didn't want to be with someone that already had baggage and had their own kids already.

I can't see her wanting to settle with someone with 3 small kids, lots of debt, previous bankruptcy, and not that much income. I think she would have dropped him like a hot potato.

I don't think she wanted anyone to see the texts or the pictures. She kept her affair secret for a reason. She only told her best friend.
I'm sure she knew she would be judged harshly in light of the murder and the fact that she was involved with this loser. She was right.
But that's all over and done and she has managed to disappear and go on with her life, while Watts sits in a prison cell hearing his daughter every day, saying "daddy, no."
I think NK has moved on to other things. What that is we will probably never know.
I doubt anybody cares, unless of course we are forced to listen to that grating voice of hers again. Jmo

His whole life was an act, apparently. He's actually probably relieved now that he can just be himself.
Although I doubt he knows what that is.

IMO he's still playacting. Playing at being a grieving father, reading to photos of his victims every night. Playing at being a Christian, reading his bible every day.

JMO, I really don't think she really cares what others think about her, as long as it doesn't cause any problems for her.

She didn't want her employer or Anadarko to know about the affair because she knew it might put her "dream" job on the line. In an interview with LE, she said she didn't want "them guys" involved in any of this. The "them guys" was Anadarko and her employer.

She was terminated and the day after her termination, she had an interview with LE. If I didn't know it was to be an interview about the murders, I would have thought this was a combination counseling/IT session and the CBI was there to serve her. She whined about how she wished her employer had been honest with her. I'm sure her employer wishes she had not gone out and had an affair with a married employee of one of their big clients. She whined on about how she was going to have to sell her truck, she had been saving to buy a house, etc. And she whined about how she couldn't figure out how to get her contacts transferred over to her new cell phone.

As for keeping the affair a secret from her friends, she told LE she didn't tell her friends them because CW was "with two women". JMO, she wanted to make sure she won before telling her friends.

All JMO

Thankyou Colorado, Shannan absolutely seemed like that which confirms to me what a big fat lie CW told when Shannan allegedly told him you’ll never see your kids again after he supposedly told her about the affair (another fat lie in my opinion).

On fri aug 17 the fri after the murders NK texted an investigator at 2am to say she remembered some things she forgot to mention in the first interview. He called her back on this Friday and she played stupid and rambled on about unimportant things. She and CW called each other most of the evening until wee hours. She said she was so upset she couldn't sleep and kept calling to make sure everything was all right. She did say she was scared among other things. IDK was that an overreaction. SW was only gone 1 day at that point. She brought up that he said he washed the kids sheets because they smelled and he was such a clean person and kept everything so clean why would they smell? I guess she didn't think of kids having potty accidents.
One thing tho that stuck out to me was when she said they facetimed and he seemed off, didn't know what to say. I think CW is really a scary person

And don't we know now that there was a smell in the car or somewhere from ... I can't say it ...

That her bowels moved at some point and one of the children commented on it? How does that fit in?

I haven't posted on this case in ages, but I also got the vibe this chick was a hustler.

I agree! Stepmonster. Lol

You're absolutely right that he doesn't deserve to be called a man/husband/father. Even the term monster is too good for him. He is an evil manipulative greedy 🤬🤬🤬.

The only reason I question if NK was involved at all is because he planned it out ahead of time. His motive was clearly to have a carefree childfree new life with his mistress, so he had an expectation of her not questioning the disappearance of his family. According to him, she told him to get back to her "after this is done", even though she knew he was responsible.

The biggest unanswered question to me is what he planned to do with their stuff and the Lexus. Did he need help to dispose of it? If so, she's the only option who wouldn't turn him in.
MOO

I think he had help. Suspicious of the 111 minute phone conversation neither one can remember what it was about. Speculating it was about either going forward with the plan or not due to the plane delay

Somebody mentioned the reason for killing the children at the site was so they wouldn't be in rigor mortis and he could get them in the tanks
If it wasn't for that plane delay he might have gotten away with it in spite of the drs appt He would have had a couple more hours
Just thought tho. How could he explain leaving for work at 3 or 4? He'd think of something. He was worried about the leak and left early. Blah blah blah
