I have seen some pretty awful things on these threads over the years, but this one? A father murders his two beautiful little girls and then dumps their bodies in gas and oil tanks?

Didn't a neighbor see his truck backed into the driveway...does anyone remember when that was?

Geez, that poor ME having to autopsy these two little girls.

His truck was seen on camera backed into his garage early Monday morning.

I agree. Awful doesn't even begin to describe it. :(

And the tanks were "mostly full". No wonder they had a difficult time recovering them. SMH. No words.

RIP little sweethearts.
There really are no words for this evil 🤬🤬🤬. This was no crime of passion other than pure hate and evil and he obviously thought this through. If he had not confessed how and would those little girls have ever been found?

Someone previously posted they were being sued for approx $1500. That amount is likely unpaid HOA fees .

It works differently where I live. HOA won't come at you until you try to sell your house, then everything you owe is taken out of your proceeds. I guess it's a different system depending on where you live, but I know HOA business is serious business.

Thank you. I have poured over these and there is an important lesson in her social media feed.

Let's be real. We are all producers of our online lives now. With her, posting glowing photo's of her husband, heaping praise of how wonderful and supportive and blessed she was, etc.

Throw in a MLM and now you get a storm of all inclusive trips, fancy cars, all which you barely have to work for. The money will roll in!!

Except it very much will not. The people who "like" these posts are in the same boat as you. In on the MLM, you are part of an overenthusiastic "team" and all living a lie, to different degree's.

This may seem off topic but it really isn't. We never know what is going on behind closed doors. Social media has complicated that X100 by making us all the stars, if we wish, of our own make-believe world.

My heart breaks every time I see those children and that vain, grotesque psychopath of a father.

They are all gone, lives stolen. But look at social media and could there be a more glowing family? Social media has just complicated the lie from the beginning of time....

Those closed doors and what is really happening in cases like this??? Now you need to weed through deep layers of the social media lie to get to the ugly truth as well.

I have lost all chance of reading every post on this thread... so I'm just going to put my theory here.
My guess is that this was not initially pre-meditated. Perhaps he snapped at one of the girls, and something happened. So because he's more connected to the image of "perfect father" rather than responsibilities/ actions of a decent father, he covers up his crime by disposing of both little girls. I would guess that if he gives a full confession, we will end up with one second degree, and two first degree murder charges.
Then he waits until his wife comes home, there is a brief altercation/ emotional discussion as he attacks her. He's so self-centered and short-sighted, he thinks it's enough to just shrug off the fact that they've gone. He goes to work and calls a few times just to show that he expected her to still be alive.

Usually, someone in his position would have had a huge advantage over LE, because he has control over the crime scene and he has control over how much time goes by before the disappearance is reported to police. But in this case, he lost that advantage, thanks to Shanann's quick-thinking friend. If he'd had more time, he might have staged a more elaborate scene.
There were obviously a lot of underlying stresses such as financial pressure, but I personally think this was also initially a spontaneous crime, because he doesn't seem to have planned ahead much. Also Shanann did say he was the one who wanted a 3rd child. Obviously his idea of having a 3rd was not through true fatherly instinct but some kind of extension of his ego, but it shows that the pregnancy itself wasn't the catalyst. I think something happened when he was alone with the kids and he lashed out and then had to kick over the traces.

RSBM. So well said! And so true. I see it all over my social media. And you are correct that all of the ones "liking" and "congratulating" and being all enthusiastic are ALSO trained to behave that way to continue the hype.

I don't really know about the trips (what's paid for and what isn't), but when it comes to "free cars," they are not "free." They are leases that you only get to have if you maintain a certain monthly sales level. If not, goodbye car. A nice perk, I suppose, but it does create a level of stress for sure and it's misleading to claim you "got a free car" in my opinion!

That amount totals about 2.5 years of HOA monthly payments. Makes me think they stopped paying after the bankruptcy. I'm wondering if they also had fallen behind in mortgage payments and that's why they were going to list the house. MOO.

Chris Watts case: Everything we know so far about the alleged murders of his wife, daughters

"And the Thayer on Thursday told Denver7 that Chris mentioned putting the house up for sale on Monday.

"We spoke to Chris on Monday. He mentioned putting the house up for sale; him and Shanann had spoke about doing that," Amanda Thayer told Denver7 Thursday."

That's the worst thing. If he didn't want the family life, why didn't he just eff off? I am sure that Shanann would have rather of been a single Mom than be dead.

They never do! He's a coward, and he couldn't face the shame of having his financial and marital troubles exposed to his family, her family, and all of their friends.

But it seems their problems were becoming obvious. SW left for an entire six weeks with the daughters. That's not a red flag, it's a red flood.

The signs are easy to spot, especially with families that overdo it with peachy-sunshine-happiness on social media. I'm suspicious when I hear that a couple doesn't sleep in the same bed, let alone when mom leaves for six weeks. That's a long time.

But you are reasonable, rational person.

He was angry, he was sick in the soul, he wanted to punish her, he wanted to punish the kids for ruining his life. Who knows. Just theories.

But, IMO, they were in his way of the life he wanted so, in his sick mind, they had to go. If you throw in rage, the fact that he could emotionally torture his wife before killing her, well, all the better to him.

I'm sorry, I hate to even write these words, but we've seen the revenge/rage/even indifferent murders before.

We can't rationalize with someone with this depth of inhumanity. Like a machine, he is broken and beyond repair. And his family paid the price for it.

Oh, I absolutely agree with you. I knew the answer - the answer is just not good enough.

I can't imagine they were keeping up with the house payments. I'm surprised the mortgage co. is not in the list of creditors in the Denver Post article. Their house was pretty big for four people. Five bedrooms, 4100 sq ft? I wouldn't want a house that big (you have to clean it and fill it with furniture!).

I saw that quote somewher because it reminded me of Casey Anthony backing into her driveway and those jurors not being able to put all those pieces together and it made me mad all over again that she got away with killing HER daughter.

I believe this entire thing was premeditated. But, as other posters have said, her delayed flight and Nicole showing up when she did threw off the whole plan, leading to this sick <modsnip> getting caught.
