I was reading the AA again today and noticed a few things (that might not amount to much in the scheme of things) but are interesting nonetheless.

Barry has no insight and is only moderately knowledgeable about one subject. Hunting. Each time he had to alter his original statement because of new evidence presented to him, he fell back on blaming an animal. A mountain lion got Suzanne morphed into she was thrown in the river and got hung up under a beaver dam. He was really chasing a turkey when he initially claimed to have lunch with Suzanne. He was following elk when he turned left instead of right. He was shooting chipmunks, not chasing Suzanne with a tranquilizer dart. A tranquilizer dart he claims he used to sedate deer so he could hack off their racks. Pig.

The blaming of Suzanne is beyond appalling. “Drunk eyes” ugh. He first told LE that they had a wonderful afternoon/evening because she wasn’t drunk or high. Oops.

He claims to be completely shocked by Suzanne’s affair. He’s a “godly” man and when he married, it was for life. Well, murdering Suzanne took care of that little problem. The “godly” man never searched for hot girls in Salida, looked for a girlfriend watched porn online. He claims someone must have planted that stuff on his phone. The “godly” man was busy flirting with a woman at the gym to the point he made her uncomfortable. He also tried to cop a couple of feels off Suzanne’s friend.

I will never believe Barry didn’t know about the affair. IMO the real reason he persisted in asking the Agents for a name was because he had searched Libler’s name before and/or after Suzanne was murdered and he was afraid LE knew it. He had to act shocked and demand to know who it was.

I've come to think Barry realized exactly who his wife was seeing sometime after getting the "I'm done" text on the 6th. Before that he was suspicious that she was seeing someone, but Suzanne was a champion secret keeper. Somewhere in the fight she must have slipped and he started putting the pieces together and he knew he wasn't going to pacify her this time. Suzanne had a "Jeff" in her past, and Barry knew him:

JL said he and Suzanne “kinda hooked up, not really,” at the party. JL played golf almost daily at the time and Barry worked on the golf course.

Upon seeing JL on the golf course, Barry “jumped off the tractor and he was ready to beat me down.” JL told Barry, “You’re gonna lose your job. Murphy has proven to be cautious. Most Judges don't want to see their cases overturned, some work very hard to ensure there aren't any wide open paths. If Murphy stays on the case, it's an automatic appeal. So far he has toed the letter of Colorado law, I expect him to continue to do so.

We used to have an Atty General who was insanely nit-picky about the wording of whatever ballot measure/etc you wanted to submit. Seriously down to the word tense or comma placement, would send it back. He didn't want to have to defend it in court, so he demanded absolute clarity of language in all submissions. As long as the language was clear, he would approve it for the next step.

I have to wonder about that theory. Barry was the more fundamental non drinking etc Christian or so it is reported. He could have been the harder, put his foot down, boundary setting parent to two teenage daughters and Suzanne the more lenient. Sometimes they are because they are raising daughters and remember what it was like as a teenage boy. There really are no facts to go. Again has really nothing to do with the case but interesting to see people project their thoughts about two people very few of us know.

Odd parenting though, to raise your daughter's virginity at the dining table, pretty damn creepy imo

There is the possibility that if the Judge does not recuse, then the defence can appeal that procedural point immediately pre-trial. That restricts their ability to raise it on appeal post trial - some specific unfairness would have to result at trial.

Personally i suspect this is a bogus application - but maybe the Judge's clerk will find some US authority on this.

It doesn't seem to have been such an easy job to make the woman disappear, to destroy the evidence, to lie to family and friends all the time, to lie to LE at least 23 times, to "manage" the fortune and to make money. Now nobody is washing for him his shorts/pants with little secrets in the pockets, nobody writing his bills, nobody waiting for him with vegetable soup or steak, nobody offering a daily target like Suzanne did (unless SD has taken over all that). Perhaps more than the middle of covid had passed by the first of May. Most of the country had been under some sort of lockdown since the end of FEB. The Morphews had been under lockdown restrictions for 9 weeks which is an incredibly long time when considering the loss of freedoms suffered.

Perhaps the intriguing trip, leaving Suzanne alone with Barry, was sort of a reward for being enclosed in isolation so an out of state camping trip was developed, perhaps by staying in a friend's cabin or renting a chalet.

Actually Barry brought another animal into the ark of blame. If I remember right, Friday night the 8th, when he was down by the river, he was looking for A BEAR, the bear that had broken into his garage once. And coyotes.

I think the prosecution adjusted their theory-- from Barry accessing Suzanne's Facebook to Suzanne doing it herself. Me, I'm not sure who did it but I'm certain it had everything to do with JL. Somehow Barry learned there was a Jeff IMO. So Suzanne tried to add a bunch of Jeffs amid a pile of men or, in trying to gain access to Suzanne's friends, Barry triggered a bunch of friend requests accidentally.

I'm intrigued by the mystery device. Why was he using it? With whom was he communicating? Is LE certain he didn't have other mystery devices? In the former case, I think he simply used a discarded cellphone within the household.

Did he have an unknown device for Google searches, sketchy websites, dumpster meet ups? Was he skilled in borrowing other people's phones for a hot minute and then deleting his action?

He knows something about SIM cards. Frankly that surprises me.

Perhaps we'll hear more about deleted internet searches at trial.

Sounds to me that Barry had quite a temper. His problem was with Suzanne, not Jeff. Barry should have known way back then that he couldn’t control Suzanne. Yet he attempted to for years much to his dismay and it hurt both of them. He isn’t someone who can let go. What a shame.

It will be so difficult if he does and another judge would need to be appointed.

I’m sure the defense knows Barry is going to prison and all these delays just gives him a little more time of freedom, such as it is. He should be in a cell and the defense knows that.

No, in Barry's own interviews he claimed over and over and over he loved her. Prosecution is not going down some of the rabbit holes we do and they can't attack his character by law with very, very few exceptions. We can chat about his character flaws or speculate he's got some personality trait that doesn't allow him to love, all that stuff but trying a man for murdering his wife is very different. Grusing is right...we don't know. LE doesn't know and the prosecutor's office doesn't know if he genuinely loved her.

And to that definition of love.... love is different for all. BM may very well have had, in his own wacko brain, his own definition of love, but the majority of us see it as controlling, self serving, narcissistic. The evidence points towards this behavior. GUILTY. MOO. Lets not get caught up in what constitutes love.

Do we know how long the camping trip was?

If the camping trip was longish, say a full week plus 2 days driving in each direction, and if SM brought MM2 to MM1's house a few days before they left on the trip, that might have been enough to push it back to the end of April.

Suzanne dropped MM2 off on the 5th. Originally there was some discussion of the scheduled return date. The AA says they were due back on the 10th, so we're going to go with that as it is sourced. We know very little about the road trip, but I think we all want to know who's idea it was. Knowing could certainly affect the timeline.


Btw, still working on those Plunder transcripts. If I ever murder someone, I'm hiring Nielsen. You'll know I'm guilty because I hired her, but if I'm smarter than Barry, I think she could get me off. The jury is going to have to stay on it's toes. She seems to be asking perfectly reasonable questions, but actually shes trying to be force Grusing into the answer she wants to hear. It's skillful and infuriating.

Honestly, Lindsey is a much better attorney. But the reporting we got from the PH was really skewed because Nielsen just barrels past what she doesn't want to hear.

I don't see why we shouldn't be concerned as to Barry's repeated exclamations of love and marital bliss.
We know they didn't have a 'perfect marriage', she was ready to divorce him and he knew it too. Why believe he 'loved her'? After all, he lied multiple times to LE about everything.
eta: While not the most integral aspect of the prosecution's case, his lies about the state of their marriage and the fact that she was leaving him are consistent with his motive to murder her and I believe they will factor in the trial.

I've been hesitant to bring this up but I've wondered about Barry's affairs as they were alluded to by both her sister and best friend.
The Epstein-Barr Virus can cause Hodgkin's Lymphoma. EBV is sexually transmitted yet the host can be fully asymptomatic.
