The prosecution objected wanting to know the relevance. Eytan responds it's possible that #SuzanneMorphew could have been abducted. The DNA matches are relevant. Walker says I didn't work on the DNA stuff, had information about the DNA, but wasn't running the DNA investigation.

Commander Walker says he only knew about the Tempe one in May. In his 15 years in LE, this is the first case involving a CODIS match. Eytan says there are different foreign male DNA on multiple pieces of evidence in this case. To this day, still trying to figure out who it is.

Searching CODIS for a partial match is a relatively new phenomenon, so I'm not at all surprised that he had no experience with this.

As for unidentified foreign DNA, that's happened in countless cases I've followed. In most it was never identified, and located in an area very important to the crime (the location someone was murdered for instance).

Here we have a partial profile that's almost certainly going to match a massive amount of people. It was also found in a location that has no known significance to this crime.

I don't think we know....in the preliminary the implication was it was not important....could be anyone...etc. etc so everyone ran with the theory that it wasn't enough to match or it was some 3rd cousin twice removed from someone that perhaps worked at Jiffy Lube. But I'm kinda over the speculation about DNA matches. They had a name that's all I care about so did they investigate the information is all I care about and was the result of that investigate that it could be excluded from consideration by a jury as a potential culpable person. It's a legal problem that they didn't disclose the information in a timely manner.

A "partial match" means a relative found by searching CODIS with the (forensic) dash sample.
The contibutor of the DNA on the dash did/does need investigation.
Last thread it was stated the identity of the dash (forensic) was/is known.
So what investigative follow up was there?

Defense says an extraordinary amount of discussion and evidence in this case and that the issue to the unknown DNA is completely tied to this case and that #BarryMorphew had nothing to do with #SuzanneMorphew disappearance.

Defense says Lindsey informed all law enforcement in the case they needed to audit their files. Walker says "it sounds like Mr. Lindsey would have said that to us." Still he says he didn't produce any notes or emails regarding the information about the unknown male DNA.

Defense asks Walker if he talked to Cahill about the Tempe match. He says he doesn't believe so. He said that it sounded like Cahill was reaching out to people about the matches because he had friends and colleagues in the area who could help.

The Tempe, AZ match resulted from DNA at a convenient store sexual assault which matched a sexual assault in Pheonix. The defense says it wasn't produced to them until Sept. 27... 10 days later. LUNCH BREAK

So I imagine that in an effort to keep his job, he lied about the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which thereby guaranteed he lose his job.

Good question. In the PH in November, one of the D attorneys asked former Agent Cahill if he wanted to change his testimony from the day before. He stated: No.

The D must have known his testimony was not completely truthful.

Now talking about a letter between the prosecution & the Dir. of CBI about the internal affairs investigation of Cahill. The defense wishes they had the info about the invest. before they have him testify today. They feel like their requests for this info have been unsuccessful.

Walker is now testifying about the partial DNA matches from the glove box. Agent Cahill put it to rest claiming he knew people in Arizona and would take care of it, according to Walker. Walker didn't know about the 3 CODIS matches before signing #BarryMorphew arrest affidavit.

That crazy long meandering affidavit will be talked about in legal circles for years I'm sure. They have to be regretting it now or at least wishing they would have just taken the time to tighten it up and not worried about having to extradite Barry from Arizona or wherever he was going. Who knows where the DA is. She was supposed to be there today. I'm sure she is keeping as low a profile as possible. I sure would be.

Ugh, the prosecution is giving this case away.

Barry probably tells his daughters every day that rapist DNA was found in moms car.

He probably also tells them every day that the prosecution is railroading him because they tried to hide and not investigate the rapist dna.

Now he can add that the Lead Detective, renowned Colorado investigator Joe Cahill, was fired (“resigned”) last month for lying! Actually true!

I have no doubt he’s repeating these things to his daughters and anyone who will listen ad nauseam.
