I know we've heard the name Sal before. Can someone give a refresher on Sal? Some kind of financial dealings/business together?

No surprise that Suzanne found the finances sketchy. Be surprising if they weren't. Interested in the silver fallout.
IMO, it's a typo intended as Mal.

I'm sad for Suzanne. She seems to waffle about her marriage. Her "new squeeze" seems like a loser, but I think she would have been fine on her own. Her daughters were almost grown and they seemed to know she would be happier with a divorce and on surface seemed supportive of the idea. But man, I've never gone through a divorce but that was a long marriage so that probably makes it even tougher at her age. People do it everyday, but it has to be a tough, tough decision to make and prepare for. It must be really heartbreaking for her family and people that knew her that she was somewhat secretive. Even reading her texts to her alleged best friend she complains but it's clear she's still struggling and isn't really asking for help or really support, more venting or fishing perhaps for advice. Ugh.
This is how women are with each other I think. Goes back to the old Venus/Mars debate - men jump in with solutions, but a lot of the time us gals just want to let off steam and someone to listen. And a good friend would never see it as complaining, but reaching out emotionally. SO’s responses are chilling - she could sense the danger.

I thought it was interesting that Suzanne said she had done some things wrong. I believe she was building up to telling SO about JL.

The most interesting thing of course IMO is Barry telling LE all was well in marriage town. Having checked with Suzanne earlier that she hadn’t been discussing it with someone else. Ha! And according to Suzanne’s texts, he’d already done a fair amount of work in “manipulating” the girls too so presumably he thought he had them in his pocket too. Little he knew that MM2’s voice would be heard through these texts.

Thank goodness Suzanne had SO. Friend in life and after her death. These texts are so pivotal to her seeing justice for Suzanne.

I think JL provided what Barry or SO could not. He made her feel desirable, but not objectified. She could talk about anything. He may have provided her with a good dose of self esteem that she was lacking, giving her strength and self-worth. I still believe her man picker was broken, but she had something for herself, that she looked forward to. It’s hard to discuss your extramarital affair with your bestie who would never ever approve. And did anybody notice that fresh start text about the move?

If i were the defense, I'd want a bunch of non educated men on the jury. I'd want people who have a similar background and worldview as Barry.

The prosecution should have this all mapped out beforehand, but I'm sure they would adjust if they felt like the jury wasn't getting it, or was bored or something.

Opening statements follow jury selection, and that seems to come down to time. So sometimes it's the same day, other times it's the next day.
I doubt that E&N indulge in such stereotypes. But if they do, BM should beware. My guess is, a jury of Jeff Pucketts wouldn't take more than a couple of hours to put BM away for life - and that would include an hour and 45 minutes for a few hands of penny ante Texas hold 'em, for appearances sake.

Thank you. Taking note that the bobcat GPS -- all 23 pages -- was entered by the defense.

Yes! Was slow to notice they filed it and that confused me earlier with addresses and Barry's phone locations - just as it's designed to do for potential jurors I suspect.
Problem for them is Barry admitting to being at home shooting chipmunks, and being at home cleaning workbench 'killing time', packing his truck, grilling a steak, washed his own dish, had sex, fell asleep, got up too pee and so on.

It is very disappointing that the judge must have read this and seen that BM was capable of manipulating his daughters emotions for his own benefit and yet he still allowed BM to extend his bail conditions to visit them at their home.

The diligence of the county clerks office looking at each ballot as it come in, caught Suzanne's filled out ballot but unsigned ballot envelope.
This defect would have been kicked up by the electronic scanner, like my husband's shift from cursive to print was. It's actually quite a sophisticated machine that can spot even subtle discrepancies. My parents are Colorado election judges, trained to spot possible forgeries. If there's any doubt at all, they send a cure letter.

I'm sure I'll return to anger, but today, I'm just very sad.

Suzanne deserved to live her life on her own terms.

Agreed, sad and completely skeeved out over the photos of BM's garage and his truck. :(

I felt the anxiousness, sadness and frustration in her emails. She really wanted things to be over and do things civilly, but she KNEW BARE was not going to do it.

Did you notice the email where she stated that she agreed to fresh start and a move to CO? I wonder what his highness BM was up to in IN?

So many of those pictures tore at my heart.

This is the first time I got to see the bike up close. There wasn’t a scratch on it. There’s no way she tumbled down there or was thrown there and that bike not damaged.

The texts make it really clear he was aggressive and a bully and a liar. I would hope the detectives found a way to know who he was staying with when he would walk out after arguments. I know it was a woman. I don’t believe any man that manipulative is going to a buddy repeatedly to stay at his home and tell him his wife is angry. He had to always make himself look good. But a lover would fall for his stories. Think of how manipulative he is with his daughters. And his relationship with daughter number one sounds almost...well, I won’t go there right now. I feel so sorry for his daughter!

He tells detectives his marriage is perfect. But yet he supposedly told his wife he needed to work on Mother’s Day? The love of his life, his angel? Yeah. Right.

And it is quite a tell that in the texts you can see he controls the money. Was even going to build a house knowing she didn’t want it!

How about whenever she tried to talk with him about a serious subject he would avoid eye contact? Very telling.

How about him threatening to cancel her medical insurance? And yet, he tells her he loves her? Loves her?!

Then her friend mentions how Suzanne put up with his antics in Indiana and gave him one more chance. I would bet as soon as they arrived in Colorado, some little word was spoken and he blew up and threatened her and she knew he had not changed. That’s what sparked something in her to seek friendship and more, from another male. She was lonely and probably thought no one loved her. I am guessing he told her as much.

Of course, this is my opinion from the texts and pictures and from being married to someone just like Barry more than forty years ago. I could probably write the dialogue between Suzanne and Barry. My opinion is that he did not kill her because he believed there was another man. He killed her because he had lost control of her. Even if she had never known JL or anyone else, Barry Morphew would have killed her when she told him she was done. He couldn’t lose control.

Barry Morphew is a dangerous man. If by some reason his attorneys succeed in getting him off, they should know he won’t be changed but rather, he will be emboldened. Would not be surprised to find he would kill another wife or girlfriend.

I hope the State can make sure his daughters are at least separated physically from their dad.

There's many scratches on his hands in addition to the ones on his arm
And to me they look like deep fingernail digs, not branches.

Those pictures of his garage were sickening. Life is all about HIM. His needs. His wants. I don’t believe Mallory is happy with herself that her dad gets to visit them in Gunnison. I am sure he manipulated her and demanded she speak to the judge or he just might kill himself. Poor Barry.

There are, but those can easily be explained away due to the nature of his job.

The scratches on his arm? Not so much.

Especially considering he's already claimed they were made by branches.

I thought he had a friend in IN, an older guy named Sal, but I could easily be wrong.
In People's Exhibit 17 SO does refer to Sal and financial dealings that Suzanne had mentioned earlier and about how they would have to come out during a divorce.

I could be totally "misremembering," but I thought that Sal was the long-time rich friend of Barry's from Indiana who may have matched his $100k reward money and also bought Suzanne's vehicle.

Someone correct me if I am wrong!

I look at his garage, his workbench, the interior of his safe, and that very messy truck and am pleased to consider that he probably brings that same level of "order" to his communications with his attorneys. Dealing with him has GOT to be like wrangling ... chipmunks.

I thought some of the scratches on his hands didn't look nearly as fresh as the ones on his arm. A couple looked almost healed.

I wouldn't be surprised, he thinks he's Omnipotent. I think BM is a lot more scary and perverse than we know. <yet>

Isn't that interesting.
