Investigators have driven from the intersection of Highway 225 and Highway 50 to Garfield, a distance of2.73 miles, an impossible distance to see an elk at or around 4:32 AM and follow it in a short period of time. Barry had about 30 minutes to head that way, tum around and head back towards Highway 285. Barry's truck was seen passing video surveillance on Highway 50 right near the junction with Highway 285 and then again just north on Highway 285 at around 5:14 and 5:16 AM.

Of course this is ignoring the fact that elk don't herd nor shed that time of year.

30 minutes. 14 miles. Driving at town speed, was he?

To be fair, if I were in his shoes, and I believed BM had just murdered SM and got away with it, I'd be pretty badly frightened. So while not his finest hour, I can understand it, I do have empathy for him.

All of us can have empathy for him. Surely he was afraid. But for all he knew, Barry could have tortured Suzanne into telling him the truth. JL could have been next on his list. JL’s best bet was to contact authorities immediately and ask for protection or let Barry know that he suspected Barry. I kinda think that would have kept Barry away from him. Barry wants to be the victim remember?

Said friend disclosed Shoshona is “intimately involved in a relationship with Barry.”

Ok women step up. Admit that women tell others about their “intimate relationships”. Happens all the time.

But Shosho? Let’s see. October to December is eight weeks or LESS. Yep I’m guessing she was bragging about her dumpster lover right away. She even named him. Yet she lied to LE.

Hey, let’s give it to JL. Even he told the investigators the truth, once they found him.

It’s like @MassGuy said a few posts back, Shoshona spent the weekend with Barry at the Antlers Hotel but they were just friends. Nothing sexual.

If there wasn't any umpity bumpity, at a hotel for Valentine's Day, Barry must've been awful embarrassed.

BM pointed to the neighbor's cleaning lady's "daughter and boyfriend" as potential suspects back in his interview with LE on May 13, 2020.

But in her interview with LE on December 17, 2020 SD says she didn't meet BM until October 2020, when she says she was in the neighborhood cleaning the neighbor's house and met BM by chance at the neighborhood dumpster.

So, how would BM know who SD's daughter and boyfriend were if he had never even yet met SD?

Different cleaning lady. BM may have been referring to a cleaning lady he and Suzanne met and spoke with Wednesday May 6th. I can't remember her name but I think her last name begins with the letter B.

BM says he first spotted the elk as he approached Hwy 50 from CR 225. He said when he got up to the intersection he let them cross. He said there was one big bull he wanted to see better. That is why he turned left.
The elk crossed and went up the old washed out road. I’m attaching several shots from Google maps that, I think, identify the road he is referring to. It is about .105 miles from where BM was sitting at that intersection. Question: could he see them from that distance in the complete early morning darkness? I don’t think so.

Interesting - so the sweep of his lights is in the wrong direction to see them.

He'd really need to take the stand to fix this up, unless they are going to argue the Elk were right down in the intersection and went up to the washed out road - a distance of around 170m

I have wondered this as well. Pickings in Salida must be very thin for women in their late 40's/early 50's. Who dates a man who is the obvious PRIME SUSPECT in his wife's recent disappearance and murder? Do they honestly think he'd honor some kind of code that says he will only betray/injure/disappear/murder one intimate partner in his lifetime for his own benefit?

Personally, I think if the "blame the guy whose relative's DNA is in the glove compartment" strategy fails, BM will point the finger at his Valentine.

The cleaning lady of May 6th was interviewed stating she met Barry and Suzanne at the dumpster that late afternoon or early evening.
Suzanne and Barry were walking together and noticed her dumping trash so asked why she was there.
I think Suzanne walking with Barry was an attempt to discuss their relationship and to set the tone for civility.

No, reporter LS spoke with the lady. It was before LS had her own YouTube, so she may have talked about it on PE or on her FB page. It was never in a MSM article so I will look for a link.

Thank you, Cindizzi. I have been combing through the AA for any reference and so far have not succeeded in finding anything related. Seems odd to me that SM would be out for a walk with BM the same day she sent the "I'm done. Let's handle this civilly" text and he responded (from 2:43 pm to 5:00 PM) with four messages referencing his own early demise.

I think SB must have made a mistake or they are talking about a different interview. Walker was on the stand on the morning of PH day one and we do not have the text from that to know what was said. Plunder picks up 121 pages into the transcript.

(Barry Interview – May 11th)
In the early morning hours of May 11, 2020, CCSO Detective Burgess and your affiant interviewed Barry Morphew. Barry explained that he left his residence at approximately 5:00 AM on May 10, 2020 to travel to Broomfield, Colorado for a construction job.10 He did not speak to his wife, Suzanne, that morning because she was still asleep when he left. Barry stated that his daughters were to return to their home on May 10th from a camping trip. Barry said that he texted his wife to wish her happy Mother’s Day and did not get a response, possibly due to poor cell service at their residence. Barry said that he tried to text her again later that morning, again with no response. Barry reached his daughters via text messages and they also stated they could not reach their mother.

Barry specifically provided his route of travel to Broomfield, and in all subsequent interviews with CBI, Barry never stated that he turned west on Highway 50.11

Barry explained that his wife’s plan for May 10th was to clean the house and get the spare bedrooms ready for their two daughters coming back, with possibly a friend to visit. Barry said that his wife rides her mountain bike every day. He added that Suzanne was diagnosed with cancer twice in her life and she beat it.

Barry said that he owned firearms and all the firearms and ammunition are stored in a locked gun safe in the garage. It should be noted that on May 11, 2020, while law enforcement searched the Morphew residence, two firearms were located at the residence that were not inside a gun safe. A high-powered rifle was located in a closet on the ground floor in a closet. The rifle appeared to be spray-painted in a camouflage pattern and your affiant could not locate a serial number. A Benelli 12-gauge shotgun was found lying against the wall in the garage. Also, a loaded .22 long rifle cartridge was located lying on the floor in the master bedroom near the right side of the bed.12

After your affiant ended the interview with Barry, he was told that law enforcement was going to seize his truck to process it. (Page 7 of 129)​

I’ve gone back to the tweet and it’s part of a long thread by SB on August 9 starting with Walker taking the stand as very first witness. They are watching the body cam footage from bike scene with AW giving details.
I notice that SB is not in Court but is getting notes from a reporter who is.

We do keep asking for a logical theory that points away from Barry as the killer. So far, no one is able to muster. Lol.

Sincerely, I am interested. I suspect the reason no one is able to provide a feasible scenario where Barry isn’t the killer is due to fact that their theory will be shredded by evidence.

There doesn't need to be an alternative "theory" in my opinion. That isn't going to be I don't think a tactic defense will use. My guess will be that they will simply punch through prosecution's "theory" since a theory is essentially what prosecution is going to trial with.
