Now I am curious what case!?I wonder if we both have the same certain case in mind. I also can't shake that thought.

<resp'y ed. for brevity/ clarity wrt the post. The technicolor, c'est moi>The trigger and the motive aren't necessarily the same thing. The motive was money....
The trigger was Suzanne's determination to leave...
Supposing the girls camping trip was just a fluke...
Supposing Suzanne builds up a good head of steam on the drive home from Gunnison. And when they both get home for the day, she drops the hammer. Probably a pretty nasty blow out based on Suzanne's surviving message to him in the morning:
”I’m done. I could care less what you’re up to and have been for years. We just need to figure this out civilly.”
I've looked at this text and looked at it. "I'm done," has a lot of implications. Done fighting, done with the marriage, done with his crap. Which seems to be reinforced by her next sentence. "I could care less what you’re up to and have been for years." I don't think this is about his cheating. I think it's about the money.
Later in the day he sends her:
Love bombing didn't work, manipulation didn't work,...“I’m sorry if things went the way they did...
So Barry makes his decision and he's got to get it done before the girls get home. I think if we knew more of Barry's movements on the 6th & 7th we'd have a better idea where Suzanne is now.
MOO.
Could you or couldn’t you lol? I still pronounce both Rs in February.<resp'y ed. for brevity/ clarity wrt the post. The technicolor, c'est moi>
Has anyone here ever wondered why the contextually correct/accurate phrasing,
"I couldn't care less.",was replaced by the "now" usage,
"I could care less."?
No. I'm not crazy. They are antonymic for screaming out loud... eesh.
But, acquiescence in the morphing of mankind's greatest language into popular parlance?...well, that is crazy.
imho & ianae
<In my humble opinion, and I am not an etymologist>

We saw Barry's writing...on the bicycle note....It speaks for itself.I wouldn’t stress about that. Have you listened to Barry speak?! I can’t imagine what his writing is like!

OMGoodness! How could I have forgotten that??We saw Barry's writing...on the bicycle note....It speaks for itself.
Archie Bunker protege? He’s basically illiterate. In one of his texts to Suzanne, he spelled mere as “mear”.
From what I recall, his usage of mear (sic) was in the context of mere or merely and not in the context of landscaping. Not trying to defend ole BM, but isn't "mear" some sort of landscaping term? I swear we had this conversation here, before.

I don’t think you can take the “never would have biked there” as gospel. How would BH know? Was he with SM on her every ride? Did SM tell him about every ride? Imagine him being cross examined by IE.And the boyfriend made it clear SM would never have biked there. And she biked in the afternoon.
I’m pretty sure Barry’s not going to find those prison showers so soothing! In that case, I hope the well runs dry!![]()
Fine, but then explain why she didn't bring things she would normally bring, and why her phone powered down just as Barry was leaving, and she never bothered to turn it on that morning.I don’t think you can take the “never would have biked there” as gospel.
