I wonder if we both have the same certain case in mind. I also can't shake that thought.
Now I am curious what case!?

I used to be able to walk in heels like that when I was their age LOL. Cahill and Morphew clan in the courts today already.

The trigger and the motive aren't necessarily the same thing. The motive was money....

The trigger was Suzanne's determination to leave...
Supposing the girls camping trip was just a fluke...
Supposing Suzanne builds up a good head of steam on the drive home from Gunnison. And when they both get home for the day, she drops the hammer. Probably a pretty nasty blow out based on Suzanne's surviving message to him in the morning:

”I’m done. I could care less what you’re up to and have been for years. We just need to figure this out civilly.”

I've looked at this text and looked at it. "I'm done," has a lot of implications. Done fighting, done with the marriage, done with his crap. Which seems to be reinforced by her next sentence. "I could care less what you’re up to and have been for years." I don't think this is about his cheating. I think it's about the money.

Later in the day he sends her:

I’m sorry if things went the way they did...
Love bombing didn't work, manipulation didn't work,...
So Barry makes his decision and he's got to get it done before the girls get home. I think if we knew more of Barry's movements on the 6th & 7th we'd have a better idea where Suzanne is now.

MOO.
<resp'y ed. for brevity/ clarity wrt the post. The technicolor, c'est moi>

Has anyone here ever wondered why the contextually correct/accurate phrasing,

"I couldn't care less.",
was replaced by the "now" usage,
"I could care less."?

No. I'm not crazy. They are antonymic for screaming out loud... eesh.
But, acquiescence in the morphing of mankind's greatest language into popular parlance?...well, that
is crazy.

Could you or couldn’t you lol? I still pronounce both Rs in February.

Guess it will a while before we get a court update.

I wouldn’t stress about that :). Have you listened to Barry speak?! I can’t imagine what his writing is like! :p:confused:

Ashley Franco is in the courthouse and tweets that she will update at noon. It's an all day hearing and this morning I believe it is Cahill and maybe some other investigators from the case.

We saw Barry's writing...on the bicycle note....It speaks for itself.

He’s basically illiterate. In one of his texts to Suzanne, he spelled mere as “mear”.

From what I recall, his usage of mear (sic) was in the context of mere or merely and not in the context of landscaping.
Yes. The other word does not fit in the context of the quote. Page 34:

"This life on earth is a mear (sic) grain of sand compared to eternity."

He's dumber than I tell people.

Oh, I know, for both counts!

He clearly doesn't understand "mere" vs "mear" and mere is a pretty common word, imo.

(Insert pun about landscaping tools and a shed here.)

Maybe he had a note from home saying a good christian boy like Barry should not be made to study homophones.

And the boyfriend made it clear SM would never have biked there. And she biked in the afternoon.
I don’t think you can take the “never would have biked there” as gospel. How would BH know? Was he with SM on her every ride? Did SM tell him about every ride? Imagine him being cross examined by IE.

In that case, I hope the well runs dry! :D:p
I’m pretty sure Barry’s not going to find those prison showers so soothing!

Fine, but then explain why she didn't bring things she would normally bring, and why her phone powered down just as Barry was leaving, and she never bothered to turn it on that morning.

Yet took it with her.

Why any random abductor would take the time to throw her bike down a ravine, and dump her helmet while making his getaway.

And how he would manage to do these things.

A low risk victim taking a bike ride in a low crime area and she's abducted?

Ok, then Barry's alibi should be pristine.

It's it?

Lol, it's actually one of the most damning things here.
