I'm anticipating the defense saying SM lied to friends and family about BM having affairs and abuse. That SM planted these untrue seeds herself. That SM kept big secrets from everyone. IMO

I can definitely see that. They have spent a lot of time establishing the theme of "secrets" and working to tie it exclusively to SM, as arch-secreteer/secret-keeper, someone who had a history of it and was "good" at it. It's a few steps from there to portraying her as someone who was bent on establishing a false history of infidelity, financial shenanigans and even DV in an effort to leave the marriage while Bad Guy Barry flounders, IMO.

IMO it's clearly bunkum and unlikely to work at trial, but it's at least a coherent tactic -- 2020 take on the Gone Girl narrative, with the "Gone where?" left unspecified.

How do we account for that missing brown towel, though? I still think that he snuck up on her while she was sunbathing. Perhaps, blood or some other type of DNA got on that towel. Barry had to throw it away.

JMO.

If he returned while she was sunbathing, she may have covered up with the towel and went up to their room. She took off her bathing suit and had just the towel on or maybe she was getting dressed and he did something then and that towel was close by?

Guys I hate to say this but when I put my lawyer hat on I am just not seeing the kind of evidence I thought they would have. My only hope is that they are intentionally withholding evidence and only trying to get over the bare minimum PH threshold. Because it’s not great right now. The defense can poke holes in a lot of things I have seen thus far.

Is defense trying to play down the clock and waste time so that the prosecution can't present all the information they planned?
