Oh, my gosh, Lillypad, I might be wrong about the Arkansas River being on the west side of the Continental Divide, 'cos there's one in Kansas.
The Arkansas River and the Ninnescah River actually join up south southeast of Wichita.
I'm not sure either would be a likely choice for a match between SM and the body found. It would also have to have surfaced at a spot downstream from a dam, and there are likely many dams on that river, since generally the midwest has a lotta dams and reservoirs.
