Really liked that, but I would bet that humor went past a lot of folks!!I was going to say "Dave's not here" Cheech & Chong

This is beyond grotesque.
It's terribly, terribly wrong.
The Find SM page hasn't been updated since what, May 17th???
If anyone was ever in doubt about what this case is all about, just look at how quickly that Gimme $$$ page was set up. I want to know exactly how much of his own precious money BM contributed toward this private "search."
I made the mistake of checking out that Gimme page.
I'm now about to vent a spleen.
It makes me positively sick to my stomach to see good-hearted, well-intentioned people being taken advantage of this way.
How many more innocent victims is this perp going to claim?
Because, yes, I do consider the Gimme Your Money contributors victims, as well.
So. Much. Manipulation.
JMO.
Oh great, thanks MassGuy, interesting, I know nothing of guns, so that clears that up for me.You can tell if a gun has been fired since it was last cleaned, but you couldn’t pick one up and determine when it was last fired.
What is the infamous double post? The infamous double post wasdbm.
Thank you, the post is excellent. And I agree it should be pinned somewhere. Each case I have followed has brought its own share of frustrations with LE. It all boils down to patience from our end. You’re welcome
It took me a while and my fingers got a little tired so it may not be as succinct and professional as I would normally write but I think it gives you all an overview of just what it entails and what LE May be doing behind the scenes when some people believe them to be either doing nothing or having nothing to go on. I have said it before and I will say it again, none of us know what LE May have in evidential terms or what they know, unless we are involved in this particular case, which we are not.
There isn’t anybody on this forum that believe the police are doing nothing. IMO
And the money should be returned to the donors.Completely agree. It should be shut down.
Yes!And the money should be returned to the donors.
And the money should be returned to the donors.
But how do we know, that the money isn't being used for friends/family that are making the journey to help find SM? Lodging, meals, gas.... The truth is, we don't know what it's being used for, but for now, I am withholding a negative opinion. JMO so I'm still up on the fence and it's lonely up here. And the money should be returned to the donors.
Have we heard any reports of shots fired in her area? I was trying to find anything that has been published about when she WS last confirmed to be seen and found nothing - so I think LE does not want the public to knowYou can tell if a gun has been fired since it was last cleaned, but you couldn’t pick one up and determine when it was last fired.
So true! It's not uncommon to get emotionally attached to a case like the Morphew disappearance, including the victim(s) and all the surrounding aspects and people involved. But, by and large, SM and family are strangers to case followers. Social media and forums provide a feeling of joining an investigation and being connected, but only LE, the DA and related agencies "work" investigations, and only they know all the details and evidence and where exactly things stand. The public is never told about what all the evidence is before a case goes to trial; this might be shocking to people who don't understand real life vs an episode of CSI. Detectives, CSI techs, and FBI analysts don't need to be told how to do their jobs by case followers. Each case I have followed has brought its own share of frustrations with LE. It all boils down to patience from our end.
Could not agree more.
Whenever I looked at the MoneyGrab page (I had to stop looking - it was painful), it seemed BM was seeking personal validation, cemented of course by donations of hard cash.
Like other Gimmes, subtle emotional blackmail is at play. The plate has been laced with some solid numbers. If you have any connection to the family, it would be awkward to opt out.
If I were a relative/friend, I might find the fund distasteful given BM is (to all appearances) wealthy and I may not be. But I might still donate because:
a) everyone else is
b) it might look unseemly if I didn’t
c) I’d better cough up a half-decent amount because I would not want to get on the bad side of cousin Barry.
I don’t think so. Since BM apparently has 100k laying around for a reward that will never be claimed, he could easily refund the money. MOOWouldn’t that be kind of like an admission of guilt, though?
As far as the collection page, Im on the fence with that. While I find the whole thing confusing for so many reasons, I disagree that the money should be refunded at this point. The only time I feel it should be offered back is if/when the money was intentionally used separate from its intended (advertised) purpose, and we dont know that it has been. I personally think BM and SM have a large net worth, but that doesnt mean to me they have a large sum of cash available. The reward fund could be insured money where he didnt have to have immediate cash.
