Some legal questions for WS attorneys or members with knowledge about life insurance law. IF BM murdered SM and got away with it for the time being would he be able to collect on her life insurance? Or would he need her body to be found before the life insurance company released those funds? Does life insurance pay at all if missing person is not declared deceased? How long does a person have to be missing before being declared dead? I’m thinking there must be a long period of time before he could collect those proceeds if she is not found. It would probably benefit him more financially if her remains were found. If BM were declared a POI by LE does that put a pause on collecting life insurance? Pondering different motives...TIA!
I've always heard that a person must be missing for 7 years before being declared dead in order to collect their life insurance. It may vary according to state laws or life insurance company rules.

However, if SM is found dead, I suppose BM can collect her life insurance. Unless Investigators prove that BM is responsible for SM's death. Then, I would hope the life insurance would go to her daughters. MOO

I think someone else brought this up... since Suzanne supposedly went for the 'bike ride'; that's exactly where LE are probably not searching as she couldn't get that far esp. if it was a brief, leisurely ride.

So maybe they're searching for clues anywhere from her home to Denver ? :(

This is nitpicky and it's not important, but I wish the thread title could just say " CO Suzanne Morphew missing from her home ." or words to that effect.
Because by now it looks almost certain that there was no ride that day.

LE's asking people to save their footage from the 8th sealed it for me.
My guess is that no one saw her in person from that day on.
Imo
agree on the 8th- then let's take that a step further....since they wanted videos from 8-12th,
do they suspect BM was traveling around close to home doing some things that don't line up with his statements?
Maybe his alibi on the 10th doesn't jive w/ videos around town. Maybe he never left town on the 10th. Maybe he said he was in Denver cause that's where he headed to hide the body.
Once they get caught in a lie, everything else they say is suspect.
that's usually when they clam up and lawyer up.

I remember someone said his truck definitely has GPS. If that's the case, LE must know everywhere the truck has been in the days before SM was reported missing and ever since.

Is that right? Unless it was disabled? I'm not sure how that works. Is it more accurate than cell phone data? I know there are spots where there is no service so would that affect the GPS on the truck as well?
Yes, Dave posted the window sticker info on that truck. He said it cannot be disabled.

When someone close to you has mysteriously disappeared, silence is the enemy of finding her. Look at the Vanessa Guillen case, or that of any other missing person. The family fights tooth and nail to keep the case in the spotlight.

The onus is on BM here, and to say that he is failing miserably is the understatement of the century. It sure would be nice if he could find the time to, you know, help find his damn wife.
BBM:

Listen. How many times I gotta' tell you:

Those guardianship papers don't just file themselves.

Real estate sales don't just happen at the snap of the fingers.

The man has been busy.

And, to be fair, it's not like he hasn't spent any time trying to help.

That video was 26 seconds long...what more do you want, for crying out loud?

It IS interesting, is it not, this specificity of the 8th of May...? Hmmm.

Yes, they certainly know what the parameters of the time frame are......only a couple days of her being reported 'missing' from a 'bike ride'.....

When was the last time she was seen ?
And why is that a hard question!
If it was Saturday, it was Saturday.
Did BM say he
got up and left while she was asleep on Sunday, why not say that?
Great point !

IF a kidnapper took her-- all the husband has to do is to say "I was asleep on ___day and woke up and she was gone".
Or, "I went to set up for a job in Denver and we talked that morning and then she stopped answering her phone/texts."
BM must know what day it was that she went missing ?
So then why do LE not know this ?

Even if some people are very private about their .. private lives -- why not tell LE when she went missing.
Even if away on a job --the day she vanished.

Since LE are looking back to the 8th-- something tells me that they don't know.
And LE are by nature of their jobs 1,000 times more nosy and suspicious than most of us -- so Imo they knew something was terribly wrong very early on.

Come on, be kind

Didn't he & his friends scour 200 square miles searching for SM??

Within, like, hours???!

When that young mom went missing in Montana or Idaho, with GPS and no pings, I read up on the stuff. You can disable it by not paying the bill, call them up and say, turn the thing off. But to REALLY kill it, you have to get underneath the hood, stick your hand way deep and pull the plug out from the system. Other wise, they can find you even if it’s off. Not paid. Like in an emergency, bill paid or not, you can call for help. Or lost, can be tracked bc the service is turned on remotely. Or off. Or under the hood. So. You have to have the equipment. And it has to be connected and remain connected, like hard wired, I’d say, to be able to use it. Now, whether GPS can track after the fact while it was turned off remotely but not unplugged? Or what if it’s turned off in the truck, but on remotely. I don’t know. But I’d bet it can do that but it is not revealed to the public. Big brother and all that privacy stuff. Sometimes we forget the simplest things.

ETRemove doubling up of posts.

Looks like he might have thought that everyone would believe the Mother's Day bike ride happened, therefore none of his movements prior to then would be scrutinized. I hope he did anyway. Moo

The spot where the bike was found that BLM showed TD, is about 1630 feet riding or walking distance from SM's house. It is a very short distance, but that spot is not visible from the house, or vice-versa. There are faint trails, connecting nearly every feature, that are visible on Google Earth. One has to toggle and rotate a lot to follow them, but the trails are there. If a stalker was lurking in the woods, I think the odds of someone in the house spotting the stalker are great. I think that whoever took her was acquainted enough to have a good idea when she would cross through the "Y" of Hwy 225. (or the alternate theory could certainly be that the bike was planted there to make it look that way).
Mollie Tibbetts was spotted on her run by a random attacker, and followed to a broad "Y" intersection where she was taken. In plain sight, if anyone happened to have been looking or if any of the home security cameras captured the exact spot. I don't believe any did, but I think LE has camera video that shows she approached the intersection with the black car following her, and the black car exited the intersection but she did not. As always, just my opinion. JMO
So stalker saw her leave for bike ride, hid vehicle, placed log or wire across road while she was on the bike ride, and ambushed her on the way back, when she would have been fatigued?

It's actually not a current update. The DM has been led to find the "GiveMoneyFund" update from last Thursday, I believe it was. However, they've added some pictures that we've seen already. It's good to be reminded through the pics that Investigators did take evidence out when they searched the Ms home.

Come on, anything can be disabled. Cut the fuel line. Pull a plug. Take out the light bulb. Break the axle. Rip out cabling. Burn them together. Cauterize the ends. Turn the handle. Block transmission signals. Spray the camera lens with black paint like the bad guys do in the movies.
Now what were you saying?

"Suzanne's husband, Barry Morphew, has been keeping a low profile after announcing a $100,000 reward for his wife's safe return a short time after she disappeared. That figure was later doubled by a family friend. The $200,000 reward still remains on offer. "

now why on earth would you need to "keep a low profile" if your wife disappeared? i can think of only one reason.
Exactly!! How obvious can a person be?

I'm hoping that somewhere along BM's trip to "Denver" he is caught on traffic cameras. He can't have thought of everything and committed the perfect crime. MOO

It seems like it would have leaked out in the MSM whether or not BM was actually in Denver or at a volunteer training session. I'm a CPA and I know we always schedule continuing education classes on Mother's Day ;)
And don't forget, during a pandemic as well.;)

It's been a while since I posted this link, and it's been a long time since there has been news.

Suzanne Morphew Case Archive:
Suzanne Morphew -CO- by amanda reckonwith

Cell phone users often have trouble with that link, so try this and scroll:
Suzanne Morphew

There are new names here lately, so you may not know what my Case Archives are. I save everything I can find- pics, articles, screen grabs from videos. From start of the case to the end of the case, no matter how long it takes. (some of my archives are 10+ years old, and there are over 150 cases). The link goes to my photobucket account. Formerly ad-free, but that is no longer an option for me to purchase. I pay for the storage and do not make a profit of any kind, so by clicking you just give me views, not money.
Thank you so much for doing this! And also for sharing with us here!

Can't keep up with this case; is there still no confirmation that SM was seen the day she was reported missing?
Still no confirmation she went for a bike ride?
Still no confirmation of who saw her last?
