Members of the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) continue the search for Suzanne Morphew.

Ms. Morphew is a Chaffee County woman reported missing on May 10, 2020.

On Sunday, May 17, members of the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Dive Rescue Team searched water sites in the area. (Please see attached pictures.)

As the investigation into the Suzanne Morphew’s missing person case moves forward, Chaffee County residents are being asked to preserve any and all video footage from devices such as Ring doorbells, security cameras, game cameras, etc., from May 8th thru May 12th.

Citizens are only being asked to preserve the video at this time. Please do not send these videos to the sheriff’s office or call the sheriff’s office. As search areas are identified, investigators will contact residents in those locations to collect any camera footage within that May 8-12 window.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL CHAFFEE COUNTY DISPATCH WITH QUESTIONS.

“One of the most helpful ways the community can aid in the search of Suzanne Morphew is by preserving these recordings,” said Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze. “We are aware that some systems override video after several days, and we want to ensure video remains available if needed.”

I haven't caught up but it would seem extra horrible to do this on Mother's Day... extra pain and guilt, IMO

I am SO sick of women going jogging, bike riding, walking, running errands and NEVER COMING BACK.
I assume the neighbor that reported her missing has been cleared? Can anyone tell me why the neighbor even knew she was missing?
I am hoping that they are keeping info close to the vest because they have some suspects on the forefront. Otherwise, IMO, major disservice to Suzanne and her family that the feds are not coming out and saying that it is a likely abduction.
Time is passing...if she was abducted people forget fairly quickly. In the area....was there a man who was "missing" on Mother's Day for an extended time? Did someone recently change their appearance or had their car/truck detailed? Did someone return home with scratches, injuries, etc. etc. Did someone in the public see something that they aren't even aware of what they saw?
I just find this lockdown of info SO frustrating and really, of no value.

As one who does a lot of cycling, I'm sick of it, too. Also cyclists who are victims of hit-and-run drivers.

Likewise, as established in earlier threads, the current Puma Path home in Colorado had - and still has - no mortgage or securities registered against it and therefore, in all likelihood, was purchased with cash. The purchase price paid was $1,575,000.

The Indiana property did partially sell. In a thread posted awhile ago it mentioned some of the land was sold to a seed company. If you look in your link in the deduction section another person is involved with the property. So possibly they are renting it out to someone and have a homestead deduction. Not very versed in that but it’s in your link and I don’t want to get into too much as it doesn’t apply to this case that I’m aware of.

Hmm May 8-12. I wonder if the last verified contact someone had with her was on May 8? I guess we really have no idea how often she spoke with friends or family. Perhaps she had been left alone at home since on or before May 8, and does not talk with her husband and daughters all that often. Or perhaps they only chatted by text or email, which could easily have been sent by someone other than Suzanne MOO

Maybe people HAD hear from her past May 8, but it was the first day she was home totally alone and they want to see if any vehicle or person repeatedly went to or near her house during those days?

Also, I don't think anything has been released in MSM about the location or condition of her bike being found, correct? Let's hypothesize that it was left somewhere on her ride because it stopped working - something made it unrideable. I wonder if she decided to leave the bike there and try to walk home to get a vehicle to come get the bike, and accepted a ride from a "good samaritan" who offered her a ride and then disappeared? MOO

My speculation re request for video footage: LE wants to apply for a search or arrest warrant -- they are looking for evidence to support their application.

We refer to other cases and compare them just as LE, detectives, and cold-case specialists do, IMO. We see previous behaviors and clues and use them. Just like FBI profilers do. Of course, we're armchair sleuthers, but comparing cases is a good step. I hope you don't edit your initial, good thoughts!

I totally agree. With each case we follow, we learn more.

No case is exactly the same, of course, but experience with previous cases can be helpful when approaching a new one.

I think the op believes this is a case of self-harm/suicide.

For the record, I strongly disagree.

Self-harm/suicide is tanking at the very bottom of my list of possible scenarios.

I have it ranked somewhere just south of alien abduction and human trafficking.

Not North: South.

Self harm seems extremely unlikely. Even if she had learned of an additional/secondary cancer diagnosis. What mother with two daughters would choose to off herself or disappear on Mother’s Day when there exist many other methods? Mothers don’t commit suicide leaving two daughters behind to be continually devastated year after year. IMO
