Sorry, just dbm'ed my post # 1148.

I was trying to respond to a post about sharing information her DV group might have referred to.

Anyway, here was my reply...

Me too, but there is an intimate privacy of information shared in those groups. I don't think their abusers are probably aware their spouse or significant other is attending. If the abuser knew, it may not end well for the victim.

IMO, we need to completely leave these groups alone. Please don't sleuth them, their meeting times and places or their members.

Most abusers (who are high on the scale of abusing) absolutely know exactly where their partners are, at all times. Taking the step to go to a group increases the likelihood of more violence, which most groups very soberly tell people at their first meeting. It takes courage to go. The attendees literally encourage each other.

Some women do try to sneak away to get to meetings, but in a small town, everyone knows. It's very uncomfortable.

These people (usually husbands) often trail their wives, inquire from others about what's up in town, what's going on, whether other men's wives know anything about their own wives and they strongly prefer that their wives make friends of the wives in their own friend circle. They look for discrepancies in their wife's accounts of daily doings, etc.

Some of you know exactly what I mean. The wife, at least at first, mistakes this for "caring." Or for a "safety-related reason," as the husband almost always makes it out. "It just really worries me that you're driving at night," "Are you sure you know those people?" "It's much safer just to bike near the house..."

A woman has to gather a lot of strength to think that she can break out of this peacefully and with as little harm to all concerned as possible.

While most women do not live in this situation, those women who do live it are more likely to be harmed.

Respectfully, I disagree. You are welcome to the last word. If indeed, GD is Delta? or Ranger, 400 deployments, or missions, I find it disrespectful to infer he is a stooge, the member apologized, I thought that ended the issue.
it was 400 "tours".

Yes, it does! Didn't TD say he recognized Barry the first day by the Indiana license plates on his truck? IMO

I think when TD saw BM he was driving his old truck which he purchased in Indiana. This is likely the new truck purchased in Colorado since SM disappeared.

I am just so deeply sad for her tonight... Maybe its just being here so close to where she lived... And Andy being the only one that spoke tonight... More people surely loved/cared for her. Where were they tonight? Maybe too tired from the search?

I wouldn't read too much into the attendance. Initially, going into the weekend, I thought it odd to have a vigil on the second night of a six day event that began on a Thursday. Lots of emotion, probably many people not acclimated to high altitudes and suffering the consequences...the fact that so many showed for the actual search says a hella lot more than late night attendance at a vigil on day two of a long emotional journey.

Here's hoping all rest up and are ready to continue the fight for justice for Suzanne!

I wonder if Suzanne was doing DV meetings online. Cancer survivor. Covid. Controlling husband. Internet might've been her safest way.

I did not expect Andy to find his sister, but I am experiencing this whole weird thing because I expected Lauren to be in Salida, or someone besides Andy who would speak for Suzanne. Once again, I feel like Barry wins, and Suzanne loses. Barry keeps the upper hand, and manipulates the situation so Suzanne is diminished. All of these people are here for a Suzanne. Yet Barry made them lesser. I hope karma wins in the end.

Agree! Curious though did any of the PE guys or staff search or attend the vigil? Imagine the impact that would have and the support they should give Andy.

Thank you! battalion, squadron, platoon, wing, flight, brigade, px, bx, my daughter recently had to learn over 200 military acronyms. Doubtful BM will ever get them straight. Point remains, I am military friendly, respectfully.

Tonight’s vigil was a mere snap shot of Suzanne’s well-lived life. Remember, they moved to Salida for “retirement.”

The larger portrait of her life would include all of those friends, family members, co-workers, church friends, neighbors, back in Indiana. 48 years of a life well-lived.

Given the ages of her girls now, one in college, and the other old enough to drive herself around, Suzanne was not meeting other moms/families with the frequency and familiarity as she had in years past. She was isolated. She was also busy fighting cancer, and managing Barry’s mid-life crisis and His whims. Those few people that did meet her in Salida, a hairdresser, gym friend, restaurant owner, etc, all had kind things to say about Suzanne.

Those who are the very closest to Suzanne will likely be there, near Salida, to serve as witnesses one day, not to her vigil, but at her trial. Her troop, along with Andy, will show up at the halls of justice.

Very possible. And if through the internet/computer, someone may have found out her secret?

Barry ain't winning this fight...he is the diminished one...I don't see anyone stepping up for him, including his so called four tour buddy...many people have put their lives on hold and taken money out of their own pockets to voluntarily search for Suzanne through this six day endeavor.

I'm a little peeved, PE said Lauren would be on to explain what was going on, and they never bothered to have her on or explain further. They said there was no order issued for her to stay away from bm, as that's unconstitutional to tell reporters they can't try for stories and report. The person approached can choose not to answer. One of them used the example of reporters sticking a mic in a guy's face and saying "did ya do it?" And there is nothing that guy can do to the reporter. Not referring to this case.

But I wish they would have said why they weren't having her on, instead of dangling the bait like that, it was a long show.

About BM and his Bobcat....

Driving through construction zones today, I saw two Bobcats, one Bobcatting, the other trailered. Gave me chills, both of them, by association.

Occurred to me that maybe BM is towing his because his cover story to those nearest him is that he's going to work every day. To jobsites that don't exist. Which may be one of the things he's exceptionally good at (going to jobs that aren't real). If he has other, less illustrious sources of income, he may have been able to leave for "jobs" and "hunting" at will.

My guess, he didn't just start this pattern of freewheeling mountain lying. It's his life language, and up until 5 months ago, it seemed to be working for him.

This night, he couldn't be bothered to attend his wife's vigil, even after promising he'd be there.

Must've been too soon.

Being “military friendly,” should not mean that you excuse or look past unscrupulous behavior.

Telling a witness that she does not have to cooperate, is just that.

I think PE should have been searching and supporting Andy and Suzanne today. They have made a huge deal out of this.

He also doesn't (seem to) know radius from circumference from diameter from area, but what the hey, he's just been a professional contractor for 20+ years.

Only 170 were allowed per covid rules, said the 1st guy filming, before AM spoke.

Eta I heard "170" but it could have been 1 17 as was mentioned above.

Let's go with your 170.

I was only half paying attention to what he was saying at the time, so I trust your ears more than mine on that number.

I don't know if they were there but they've done a great job going public and keeping it in the public eye.
