Dog/tracking experts - is a passive hit the same as a passive alert please?

PE is showing the photo from May 13, with BM lying on his back in a clearing. Of note, there is no bluff there, no cliff.

Here it is!

AM now saying two dogs together made a non passive hit. Then stopped discussing that.

Thank you for all the posted pictures. It sure is a gorgeous part of this country, but I can see how intimidating it is with the vast amount of mountains and trees and so many places to have to search.

Yes, feel discouraged/sad/irritable/emotional since yesterday. Can't shake it.... Need to cry and that may help release some of this. It's too much land to find her if there are no solid leads... :(

I honestly think people are afraid. I am starting to think BM runs some shady organization there and has people in his back pocket. I just hope it doesn't include any LE.

I agree.

Yes it's an experienced veteran cadaver dog that "passive hit" on the beachfront rocks more than once.
they are going to process the scene, Andy thinks.
per PE

my heart is pounding!

What does passive hit mean? I did a quick Google and it indicates it is just a way for a dog to alert without causing a noise disruption. Is that what they mean or does it mean something else? I don’t know a lot about how cadaver dogs are trained

According to AM, a veteran cadaver dog hit on the beach area. Three passive hits.

He called FBI. Scene has been turned over.

My opinion is that every place BM has worked on needs to be thoroughly scoured.
Should have been sooner, but I'll take anything LE can do even now !

Bless those HRD dogs.
This feels like an update, even if not an official press release from LE.
Imo.

Was he discussing a specific site with that intel?

I dropped a few mins ago.

Andy says besides the one dog making three passive hits at the same location near the stone boundary of what looks like the riverfront property (and FBI and CBI will be processing that location), two dogs made non-passive hits at another location; however, Andy said he will talk about second location at another time and Chris reemphasized that they will not talk about it until later.

A tip did come in according to PE and cadaver dog made a hit. Don’t give up.

He also doesn't (seem to) know radius from circumference from diameter from area, but what the hey, he's just been a professional contractor for 20+ years.

Well no wonder his walls are falling apart!

Andy was at the beach area of the Salida jobsite.

They agreed to not discuss until later. I suppose LE told them not to discuss.

A passive hit is where dog keeps going back to location. He did it three times today.

They have not discussed non passive yet.

Cadaver dogs hit by lakeside property according to PE.

"Passive hit"

IMO, I would prefer a passive alert vs. a dog that throws its body around, scratches, etc. at the target odor & potentially disturbs evidence.

Very interesting.

Many of y'all were talking AT LENGTH about this beach rock wall,
is anyone able to match up what you were talking about with where this dogs seemed to hit?
Wow this is pretty unbelievable, I'm so so so hopeful that this is it.
I wonder when they'll get to work, and I hope the fully excavate plenty of the rocks and beneath.

They probably shouldn’t have brought it up but I understand why they did
