ITa and while I know “strings are pulled” at times it would never be disclosed IMO as it may invalidate the warrant ? @riolove77
And then anything found would be discounted ?

Well, it could result in a motion to suppress the evidence after charges are brought, depending on whose property the evidence is found. I was thinking about Colorado Code of Judicial Conduct Rule 2.9:

(A) A judge shall not initiate, permit, or consider ex parte communications, or consider other communications made to the judge outside the presence of the parties or their lawyers, concerning a pending* or impending matter,* except as follows:

Like attorneys, judges have to abide by a code of conduct. No judge would want an investigation by the Colorado Commission on Judicial Discipline.

I agree! I don’t know the significance of these invoices but the delay in turning these over makes no sense. LE has canvassed the area, talked to local businesses, posted fliers. It’s like the Stepford Wives syndrome.
I dont necessarily think the delay was intentional, there could dozens of reasonable cause for the delay:

They could have been scared
They could have just found them
They could have just gained access to them
They could have just realized the significance of the documents
They could have thought they were doing the right thing by staying out if

Its hard to speculate without knowing exactly what was submitted

I get the sense that they are being cautiously optimistic that the dog hits are a very strong lead, especially the hit with the two dogs but I think the search needs to go on until they know the outcome of what the dogs have detected because there's no guarantee that this will turn out to be human remains.
Agree. It's not a slam dunk they found her. Chris of PE said the other day to remember it could be someone else if those are someone's remains. As for a possible arrest tomorrow, I'm skeptical the temporary DA would be ready for that move. Also, I don't believe the Sheriff or the CBI would disclose any potential arrest information to Andy or the PE guys. Not when they've kept things so close to the vest. IMO

After watching the PE Video, I also noticed a more somber mood in the room although I wondered whether some of that could be due to tiredness as I did hear them mention something like, they were up at 3.30 am doing something case related.

When they were discussing the article that was recovered from near the Morphew's property, I got the impression that someone close to the family has passed on this specific tip to PE's Evidence Room which PE then passed onto LE.

When Andy was talking about SM and then mentioned her involvement with supporting victims of Domestic Violence, I noticed a little change in both CM and MK's body language.
They seemed to look a little bit uncomfortable and unsure how much Andy might share. Just my impression.

I recall there have been cases for which LE has not reacted positively when non-LE had attempted to join in the investigation; it will be interesting to witness responses of LE across the country (and/or world) if/when the PE guys attempt to sell the model developed in the SM case (hundreds of amateurs and professionals) to be used in other investigations.

The burgeoning model has proven a worth so far, long before the SM case is resolved. More ground covered, potential evidence gathered, areas and items of interest tagged and logged, photo and document repository, etc.

It seems it should be an easy sell for use in missing persons cases... let's hope LE departments at large are receptive to the idea. It could become a huge business opportunity or a best effort for non-profits.

I was thinking the same yesterday, that someone needs to put all this together as a turn-key for others!

Perhaps all of these but if they were scared what were they afraid of and why?

Doing the right thing by staying out? Sorry I don’t buy it.

This is a small town where news travels fast. This has been a high profile case. SM has been missing for 4 months. If it was important to turn over now, it was important to turn over weeks ago.

Then again, maybe these documents have no relevance to the case at all.

What I find strange, correct me if I'm wrong, but iirc there were to be TWO different YouTubers at the search on Sunday, and neither of them did an update yesterday/last night as I had expected and have been doing previously.

I wonder if the trees were ordered (deliberately) from a distant tree nursery, and therefore she had not even heard of SM's case until now.
Also could be why she thought it seemed odd - a location farther out of their usual area.
Maybe.

Would this be BM's new 2020 truck that he was photographed standing next to, with his bobcat in tow or the old truck?

They said "a new truck"

Maybe the trees were purchased around the time of SM's disappearance and BM had at the time identified them on the order as related to some specific job, but the nursery owner or worker participated in the search the past several days and personally observed that those trees have been installed someplace else.

I think that the searchers covered a lot of ground, and Andy will be able to go home knowing he did everything he could to find his sister. I’m not optimistic that anything has changed. I wish the news coverage had been bigger.

Am I the only one who definitely thought Chris and Mike knew something more tonight than maybe even Andy knew? I think it was strange how Mike said it was the last day of searching and Andy said they will search tomorrow. I also thought it very strange and not at all coincidence they did that memorial for Suzanne, tonight.

I also wonder this same thing...they work cold cases all over, on a reg basis. ( per their websight) They know what to look for, what is important and who is or is not a poi..

Since the hosts seemed to think AM's search was done, perhaps they had planned for their memorial segment in advance for tonight, and their script was a little off once they realized the search had two more days, but they still went ahead with the memorial segment anyway.

Made me wonder VERY hard....if they know what and perhaps who has been found...and Andy would call off search due to that info.

Based on various posts in this thread, it seems BM has become quite attached to his Bobcat. Is he still working jobs (gotta pay bills) or is there now 'special meaning' embedded within that particular Bobcat? ...so many ways to go with this.

Perhaps overthinking.

On PE they did say last night, that they felt LE had checked over all the machinery very well.

Did they say if it was the machinery at the house and his workplace or just one or the other? Actually, does he anyone know if he keeps it all at the house or potential worksite? I just realized I have no idea how or where construction managers keep all their equipment lol

I just rewatched last night's PE. I could be wrong, but I got the distinct impression that CM fully expected MK to reveal #5. And I think MK called a program audible -- and stopped himself.

My takeaway from last night isn't what they said but what they didn't.

My ears are twitching.

Not an attorney but i have been wondering if the police could attempt to 'reel' in PE by asking Andy to no longer give details of the investigation to Social Media Channels?
That would then apply to PE, and maybe also be referred to in a jab as Police cutting off communication ie code 33.

If you ck PEs websight they are part of a cold case group and work with LE all over....I would be surprised if the locals turned down their help or scolded them.

  • #778
Can LE really tell PE to reel it in? How could they even enforce such a request/ demand? Lots of YouTubers are devoting podcasts to this case. Just asking, I don’t know. Maybe an attorney can weigh in on this.
They could appeal to professional courtesy. MOO.

Hi there - sorry to ask but I’ve got some software that is used to enlarge images with little-to-no loss in resolution. I’ve actually used it on some other cases - just for experimentation myself - and used aerial images and enlarged them (sometimes 2-6x their original size) and the level of detail you could then see was so much better than you could imagine. While it may not work too well, depends on the orig file (if it’s a picture of a screen or something low res that’s not great), I’d be happy to try it and then post them here, just to share. Could you possibly PM me the image(s)?
You can go to the site in Salida where LE cut a square box out of the concrete floor in May. There is an overhead view of it. Hope that helps.

Re BBM
Even if at the place where the 2 dog hits were made they find human remains there is no guarantee this will be SM. As reading this forum makes it painfully obvious there are a lot of people missing under unknown or suspicious circumstances.
I do hope for closure for AM, his siblings, GM, the daughters and all other familie, friends and for all loved ones of SM.
