PRESS RELEASE
May 22, 2020

Based on information developed during the Suzanne Morphew missing person case, investigators with the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are conducting a search at a residential property on the east side of the Salida.

The property owner is fully cooperative with law enforcement and is not connected with the disappearance of Ms. Morphew. No details about the search are being released at this time. Additionally, it is not known how long this search will take law enforcement.

An update will be provided at the conclusion of the search.

There will be no updates during the search.

Oh, I just assumed the friend told the Youtuber and the YouTube person reported it.

Look, the mods addressed there are rumors out there. But you cannot state something as FACT because you heard it three persons removed on SM. Please stop stating things as facts if you cannot provide the evidence ie links to back them up. If someone is in jail there will be a booking record. This isn’t a special case, there aren’t special procedures for cases with a lot of social media interest. LE admin procedures can lag real time by hours or days but that doesn’t mean what you “think” is happening is happening.

Other than the fact that investigators are searching a property that was identified during the Suzanne Morphew case, we know nothing. There are rumors swirling-some of the things may be true. I doubt that everything out there is true. We can think all we want, believe what we want, but until it comes from a verified source, it’s rumor.

The individual on Youtube who has been broadcasting is *not* the "2nd grade friend of SM." Not. The Youtuber *allegedly* was given information about what all is going on and *allegedly* that info came from a good friend of SM.

It is not verified. It is not fact (yet). The only thing that is a verified fact is there is LE presence at a home in Salida and there is digging involved.

How do you know it is really her friend? No way to prove it and people make up stories and claim to be close personal friends all the time on the internet.

I don’t read Facebook and have no interest in rumors, but it’s impossible to avoid them here. I don’t understand why anyone believes these ridiculous stories that sound more like a Colombo episode than real life. I don’t know who is responsible for the disappearance but the idea that anyone with two brain cells to rub together would return to a place he was working and put a body in concrete after LE has been alerted to the fact that is wife is missing is just beyond belief.

Could easily be done without an accomplice, depending on what kind of job it was there is usually different kinds of damp proof, weather proofing layers that go down first, thick plastic sheeting etc before the concrete is poured on top, he could have easily hid the body underneath this before calling in a concrete truck to come and pump concrete and they would never know.

If so, I'm going to guess the concrete company employee that delivered the wet concrete was one of the tips called in.

We can't control the rumor mill nor can we confirm what is being said in those rumors. However, it's out there that a body has been found, there is talk of a mistress and barry has been arrested.

You may speculate on those rumors but please do not add to the rumor mill by adding more rumor.
