I find this odd. Suzanne is reported missing, at what 6pm, when it's still light, and who knows if she went for a long ride or visited a friend.....then a $100K reward is offered 2 days later. That's fast, yet husband says "it's too soon to make a plea?" At this point I do not suspect anything nefarious about the husband, but I wonder if there's something he knows (or suspects) that's left unsaid. This is so sad.

I agree, something is going on that we are obviously not privy too!

I spoke with a few neighbors who do not know Suzanne personally, but tell me this is a very safe area and most people in town don’t even lock their doors. They say nothing like this has ever happened - that they are aware of. They say there are biking trails in the area.

This is interesting to me! If her and the fam don't have some kind of neighborly relationship would they be calling LE about a missing person? Would the husband or daughters have the neighbor's phone numbers to have someone check on SM if she wasn't responding to them?

We live outside of city limits so I compared pictures from their assessor's page and ours. Their neighbors are not just a stone's throw away. I would say that their distances are pretty comparable to ours with our neighbors. We might hear their mower every once in awhile otherwise we have no clue what they're doing or when they come and go. It looks like SM's house has quite a large wooded area all around it which would also block everyone's view and noise.

A couple of other things off the assessor's map, their driveway access is off Puma Path and it appears their neighbor's driveways go onto Monarch River Drive, which is a dead end. I can't see the other houses well enough to say 100%, but I would guess SM's house and the other 2 are back to back. (The other 2 facing Monarch River Dr.) I wish we knew who the neighbor was that called in and how they knew she was missing. IMO the houses are so sparse in that area it looks like you'd be lucky to ride past one.

I'm very curious to see if we ever get the full details or at least a little more info here. I'm really hoping that she hasn't been injured while on her bike. I don't know how it is in CO, but in our state the highways and county roads are 55 mph. Hopefully LE is getting closer to some answers.

Other info as offered previously:

Preliminary info shows the home was purchased in CO for about $1.5, taxes paid up. It looks like they may have listed their Indiana home for $800K but it appears to still belong to them with with over $7K in unpaid taxes due.

Questions:

1. Why is the media and the husband so quiet?

2. Why is there no mention of her bike being found or unfound, and no description?

Thoughts:

She could have fallen off a cliff or down an embankment while out on her own, but there seems to be a lot of red flags everywhere.

So why this huge reward after only two days missing? What's the purpose if not for some serious suspicion of abduction, so soon?

Do we know anything about the neighbor? I don't think I've even read if the neighbor is male or female. Everything just refers to the neighbor as "neighbor" but no details are provided.

Who organized the fundraising account and what is the money supposedly going toward? It doesn't seem there is a shortage of resources being employed if CBI/FBI is involved. What was the money needed for? I also have a hard time understanding why a fundraising account was needed if $100K was available to be offered up.

Family: Suzanne Morphew's Husband Offers $100,000 Reward In Disappearance Investigation

On Wednesday, Sheriff John Spezze told CBS4 while it’s an open investigation, he would not rule out a criminal investigation. He adds the probability of an animal attack is not very high.

The FBI and Colorado Bureau of Investigations are now involved.

A neighbor first reported Morphew missing. Family says her husband was out of town on a trip to Denver at the time.

Spezze would not confirm whether they had found her bike.

According to Mapquest, Maysville is 2 hours and 40 minutes away from Denver.

So, it wasn't a trip too far out of town.

To say nothing of the fact that this really isn't a time when many people are "taking trips" anywhere, for work or any other reason.

The girls obviously don't live at home now and are doing their own thing, so not a requirement during this time to return to their family place.

As of a few days ago, one daughter was in Utah and the other Idaho it would appear.

I thought one was still in HS? Guessing they go to college in Idaho/Utah and are working there also.
How horrible to go missing on Mother’s Day. My friend lost her mom last year on Mother’s Day and she was so sad this past weekend.
I hope Suzanne is found safe.

I'm from the area. The sheriff is not commenting on whether the bike has or has not been found.

They brought in dogs. If it had been a mountain lion or something like that the dogs would have hit on the scent.

There are so many inconsistencies here. I find it so odd, amidst a national lockdown, the husband and two daughters were traveling or working out of town. Aren’t most people working from home now, and college students sent home? Hoping this beautiful lady is found safe, and soon!

Something else I noticed that was a bit odd to me is the immediate full scale search by LE for an adult female who was missing for a couple of hours.

It's a small town and a small community. People can get mobilized pretty quickly when something isn't right.

I just wanted to point out that on July 8, 2018 a hiker went missing near Telluride and wasn't found until July 27th. Tragically, he had fallen to his death. There was a massive effort with LE, SAR, dogs and drones. FLIR sent their fixed wing plane. A local pilot finally spotted his body. The terrain is similarly rugged and remote and hard to search with drones in the Monarch Pass/Salida area.

That being said, there was no reward, red flags or announcement of a criminal investigation in that case.

I hope SM is found alive and well soon.

Monarch Pass was the focus of a search yesterday. I’m not from the area so the only info I could glean was from Wikipedia. Any locals who might be able to tell us how close this is to her home?

Local to the area. It’s about 7 miles, less than a 10 minute drive without the winter skier traffic and snow packed roads.

My thoughts exactly. Being out of town right now is not completely unheard of, but it does stand out as odd given most people have curtailed unnecessary travel. Perhaps it was necessary?

Police have not ruled out foul play in search for missing Colorado woman as husband offers $100,000 reward [VIDEO]

The husband of a missing Colorado woman has reportedly offered a $100,000 reward for information about her disappearance, and a separate GoFundMe campaign has raised more than $10,000 for the search effort.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Suzanne Morphew was reported missing from her Maysville home on Sunday when she did not return from a bike ride. According to local reports, a neighbor in the small town with a population of 135 people reported Morphew missing, and authorities have not confirmed whether Morphew’s husband was in town at the time of her disappearance.

As a massive search continues for the missing mother, a family member told CBS4 that Morphew’s husband, who has not been publicly identified, has offered a $100,000 for information about his wife’s disappearance. A GoFundMe campaign is also raising money for a search effort, though it is not clear if that effort is in coordination with the search launched by the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, which reportedly involves more than 100 personnel and tracking dogs provided by the Department of Corrections.

Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze told CBS4 that authorities have not ruled out the possibility of a criminal element in the 49-year-old woman’s disappearance, and said investigators believe it is unlikely she was attacked by animals. He said the investigation remains active.

According to CBS4, the FBI and the Colorado Bureau of Investigations have joined the search.

On Wednesday afternoon, a reporter for Fox21 shared a video of police vehicles blocking a road in the search area near Salida, which is believed to be in close proximity to the missing woman’s home. The reporter also said in a tweet that police sources told her that while they are not ruling out foul play, they are not treating the disappearance as a criminal investigation at this time.

According to the Fox21 News reporter’s Twitter posts, Spezze said that authorities are not asking for the public’s help in the physical search, though he did say that deputies are collecting tips. He could not confirm the reports of a financial reward.
