One possibility is kidnapping for ransom, even though very rare.

I'm interested in their finances.
Seems like a possible clue there ?

Well (as I’ve just discovered!) it seems we cannot look into any of that here as it would, at least in part, be considered sleuthing her family members or associates.

Unless at some point one of them is named a “person of interest” then examining the property transactions or business activities or the charity setup looks to be off limits for now. Let’s hope the mainstream media levers some more relevant facts out of the Sheriff’s office soon so we’ve got more to quote and then go on. They seem to be pretty reticent in disclosing anything new despite the number of days that have passed and the fact that the sheriff has already described this as a “criminal investigation” :(

...Also, I think TN may have been the go-between with a news reporter and the husband live on-air recently when the husband was asked if he wanted to make a statement on TV. The family member (TN?) told the reporter the husband thought it was too soon.

...but not too soon to offer a $100K “no questions asked” reward.

I don’t at all question the motivation to offer a reward for information - I think it has been of huge assistance in maximizing news coverage. However, the timing of it is what struck me as unusual compared to the normal progression of these things (and I wasn’t the only one if you look early in this thread). The initial search phase was still underway, descriptions of her bike and what she was likely wearing etc hadn’t been disclosed (and still haven’t), and there hadn’t even been a major press conference at that point.

All this coupled by the words said, or in some instances not said, by the sheriff seemed to signal - at least to me - that we were almost certainly dealing with a crime not an accident.

Then, after hearing of the generous reward on offer, to see a fundraising campaign suddenly pop up struck me as pretty odd too.

Yes. While I'm not at all bothered by the reward or value, it was more the

order of it all. As if no time for fear, panic, grief. It seemed to go straight to

strategic PR mode. Running a campaign....a well-oiled machine.

MOO

@Seattle1 i completely agree with your assessment of this being a campaign, and hopefully it works... certainly seemed to get the word out. I feel like they don’t have much beyond a likely suspicious “condition” her bike was found in... hoping for a good outcome but it feels like it’s getting to be slim :(

The swift and large reward money doesn't seem odd to me in this instance. They seem like they are a family with means based on the price of the house they bought there. If I was wealthy or well-off, and a beloved family member is missing, I'm throwing a bunch of money out there to try anything to get them back if maybe someone has them or knows who has them and the $100K is enough to get them talking. If I am a wealthy friend who cares a lot about this family, I might also pitch in a lot of money, which, perhaps to me if I'm wealthy, is not really all that much money. I personally am not reading too much into the reward knowing this family seems like they have money. MOO

This is exactly how i felt when i saw the price of the house, There are people who spend thousands and thousands on treatment for their pets let alone their spouse. If i had a 1.5 million house and my finances were all straight 100k to bring back my wife would not be a big deal to me.

I just woke up hoping to see that she is found but sadly she is not.

Some question came into my mind though.
Somebody mentioned camera's. They have a pretty big house in a remote area, it could very well be plausible they had outside camera's for safety measures? Maybe a vivint or some kind of door camera?
Im still confused about the time she went on a bike ride, it seems that is not even clear. (or they keep it quiet, or she never did)

It is kind of frustrating to go on such little information.
I hope LE has lots more to go on though.

The neighbor may have also been a friend that she spoke on the phone or text regularly or even daily, the neighbor may have tried to call SM herself to see how her bike ride was going or went but got no response via call or text so they then went to check it she was home and had no response there either so alerted LE.

Do we know anything about the neighbor? I don't think I've even read if the neighbor is male or female. Everything just refers to the neighbor as "neighbor" but no details are provided.

Who organized the fundraising account and what is the money supposedly going toward? It doesn't seem there is a shortage of resources being employed if CBI/FBI is involved. What was the money needed for? I also have a hard time understanding why a fundraising account was needed if $100K was available to be offered up.

So many other thoughts and questions...

My thoughts exactly.

THAT RING was all I saw when I looked at the pic.

Something keeps drawing me back to the ring picture. It looks deliberate that her ring is on her right hand instead of her left. I saw another pic with her wedding ring on and to me it looks like the same ring.

Could be nothing but...

The ring is her wedding ring set, as shown in other photos, and worn on her left hand, even in this photo, where the ring looks like it is on her right hand. The photo is reversed, a mirror image. You can tell by how she wears her hair, how she parts her bangs to her left side.

I wonder if it's as simple as he/she got a call from one of SM's family members and went over and knocked on the door.
Perhaps it went something like this:
"Suzanne went for a bike ride 3 hours ago. I've been trying to get a hold of Suzanne (or "mom") for hours and can't find her. Can you go knock on the door or see if she is out in the yard?"
maybe they were driving and found her bike.. cause they called police 1hr 14 min after she left on her ride.

I don't think that the family would know about the condition of the bike if it's in a crime lab someplace being processed.
LE can be very tight lipped as many know. There was a murder not far from where I live in which a vehicle was parked at the crime scene for a few hours. That was reported to LE on day one of the investigation, yet LE didn't mention it till 6 months later. The reason was because they had a tip line set up and they helped narrow down fact from fiction when 3 or 4 called in reporting the same make, model, and color. After they sifted through the tips, they did a press conference asking people to call if they saw a car in the area matching the description the callers reported.
Just because they haven't mentioned the bike yet doesn't mean they won't. IMO.

read this- nephew clearly says he knows the bikes shape and he asks us to push the county sheriff for info on it cause he can't say.

nephew knows what condition the bikes in and can't say.

It is strange that none of this information has been given out to the public- in case maybe someone saw her.

They also haven't mentioned anything about a kidnapping. No alerting the public to be careful, which makes me think that LE believes that someone close to her did something to harm her.

Which makes me think that they have found evidence that she is not alive. Just my opinion.
police could help find her if they'd give these details on what she was wearing and the condition of the bike....

How do you know this information please

internet pictures are flipped a lot

I would like to know where this family has acquired their millions, and also where are the daughters, did they come home? Even if the bike is damaged that could have been done elsewhere and then tossed there.

How do you know this information please
their county sheriff said when she left and when the call came in, in the first report on the net on thousands of web posts.

  • #799
I really wonder why they are so silent. It all feels like a hit and run or abduction (cause of the whole bike state situation that is still not clear), if that is right more information is so needable to get more help from residents.
