This guy is obviously not a WSer. LOL I asked him yesterday about the juror ages and this was the response he posted.

A few jury notes. (As in today's story) Eight women, four men. Front row of box almost all women, approx ages 20-30 #jensentrial

Paul Shockley‏@PaulShockleyGJ2 mins

In openings at least, several front-row ladies were reacting, tearing up, as Jensen wept during her 911 call. #jensentrial

This may or may not mean jack, but clear in my notes. #jensentrial

It's 5 pm here and all I know is that the jury is still deliberating. The evening news just reported that the jury asked 2 questions. 1. What is the definition of accidental death and 2. What is the definition of homicide. Sorry but the news station does not have a link up yet that I can post. I"ll get it as soon as it's available.

And now this just in, jury is going home for the day.

Jury is going home for the day. #jensentrial #gjsentinel

Paul Shockley‏@PaulShockleyGJ1 min
They sent two questions to the judge today 1) Ask legal definition of "accidental death" 2) Definition of "homicide" #jensentrial

Paul Shockley‏@PaulShockleyGJ2 mins
They were told by Judge Robison they've already received all instructions & definitions authorized. #jensentrial

I'll be on it tomorrow . Mr. Wart is getting a real dinner tonight.

Thank you so much dear WW for keeping us informed. I was wondering if you knew the make up of the population that the jury draws from. What is the main industries in the area, employment rates, and income levels?

Do you think this jury is going to give HJ a pass and acquit her? Thanks again!
Enjoy your dinner!

I'm happy to help in my meager way!
This county has a population of about 150,000. Much of it is considered rural, agriculture and farming, vinyards. This area is also a retirement mecca. Grand Junction is the largest city with employment from the hospitals, airport, school district and the university. I believe the last unemployment figures I saw was about 8.5%. The median family income level is perhaps $40,00 to $50,00. I can tell you from experience that the school enrollments are constantly fluid.

I am not sure about the jury. I tried to get the age range and all that was provided was for some women ( age 20-30). That does give me pause, along with the questions asked, that perhaps it is not going to be the negligent homicide. However I think they will have to find child endangerment. I am surprised some verdict was not reached today.

At any rate, I pray for some peace and resolution for these babies and their family.

To find criminal negligence in CO, does the jury have to be unanimous?

I truly don't see this case as a slam dunk. I would think that she has driven this car in cold weather before and would know how fast the car heats up. But I can see her thinking that keeping her children warm was a priority. Obviously, her judgement and assessment skills were faulty and resulted in the tragic deaths of these two little boys. At least she called 911 and stopped the car to try and help her kids when she realized something was wrong. Unlike CA. IYKWIM.

I hope that the law is clear and the verdict just. Does anyone know the prison sentence for child endangerment or criminal negligence in CO?
IMO

OT: Are people in Colorado typically laid back? I have a friend in Colorado and he has never understood why anyone would want to live in the Northeast or Mid Atlantic regions. He says the pace is too frenetic, people talk too fast and are rude; liberal, Generalizations I know. (No Stones Please!)

I think sometimes where we are from sometimes affects how we think about cases like this. I am just trying to get a general picture of people who live there. If Kevin Costner is any indication, I am moving there tomorrow.

Disclaimer: I live in the Mid Atlantic region, and have never been to Colorado. It looks beautiful.

Are we laid back? VERY! lol Pot is legal here! I don't partake, but I love all this money coming in. Our pace is a lot slower, and people do a lot of outdoor things. And it is gorgeous here. Your smaller mountain, and plains towns (not touristy places) are generally a lot more conservative than places like Boulder and Aspen. I'm not sure if geography will play a role in the jury's determination. I'm worried that they'll look at it as more of an accident, but I'm kind of hoping that the reason she was there will disgust the jury enough to nail her to the wall. HTH

How can her lawyer sleep at night, he knows full well that she is a lying snake about her IQ.She was having an affair before her husband died, that takes good thinking skills not to get caught.Someone as slow as she is supposedly is would have been caught. Then she moves in the boyfriend within days of her husbands death and has affair or affairs behind his back, even taking boys with her so he won't suspect she is playing around. She sure was smart enough to get her deceased husbands life insurance check, I bet she applied for his social security quickly too.Low IQ my AZZ ! I am upset she can only get 24 yrs if convicted. I am also worried that she might get acquitted which IMO is unthinkable. She plumped herself up and those glasses make her look nothing like she did when this happened. I hope the jury got to see the pics of her when she roasted those 2 innocent babies to death, back then she looked less dimwitted then she does now. Those 2 boys and their daddy deserved so much more. I honestly do not know how the grandparents have been able to hold themselves together.

Let's clear up term if convicted: Max on (F3) child abuse/death/negligence would be 32 years, per count. She has 2. #jensentrial

Thoughts on jury's questions yesterday: Before trial, the judge restricted what Dr. Kurtzman could tell the jury #jensentrial

Paul Shockley‏@PaulShockleyGJ29 secs
Robison said he couldn't testify to his conclusions on manner of death (accident) or Jensen actions were "neglect." #jenentrial

Paul Shockley‏@PaulShockleyGJ24 secs

This, for fear of prejudicing one side or the other, or creating confusion in the jury. #jensentrial

Paul Shockley‏@PaulShockleyGJ45 secs

Yesterday, jury asked meaning of "accidental death" and "homicide." Hmm. #jensentrial

Perhaps jurors wanted more from Kurtzman on manner of death in a case where they've got 2 dead kids. ? #jensentrial

In my experience, highly unusual in case with two deaths that the coroner barred from testifying on manner of death. #jensentrial
