Cobra: Tapes, Interviews & Case Discussion

Umm, I would like to see the hospital that releases a patient before 5:30 am in the morning please?

Think about this - has any one of use been discharged prior to 5:30 am from any hospital - ever? We all know they keep you hanging around til after noon so they can charge you that extra day plus your doc NEVER arrives before that to sign the discharge papers and then you are stuck there, packed and ready, hungry, watching everyone get their lunch trays while you didn't have one ordered because you were supposed to go home this morning.

Anyone? Or is that just my hospital experiences?

Sorry, but the whole cobra tapes for me are simply a look into how RC's mind works and how he interacts with others. IMO nothing that he says can be taken at face value. He suffers from LMS (little man syndrome). He lacks confidence and so surrounds himself with guilible and/or fearful people and is a braggart, loving a captive audience - all in an effort to make himself look/feel like a tough guy. His statements are no more believable to me than any of the others. They have all had a lifetime of lying to LE and therefore, none is credible.

Doesn't make him a murderer necessarily, but rather like half the guys in my neighborhood.

So according to Ronald Hank Sr was there at 5:30 in the morning, Joe was saying he was leaving town- and Hank Sr. told in in not so very nice words that he wasn't, until he gave that gun back.

Joe went home the same day that 911 call was made, I assume after he hung flyers. That would have been the 10th.

So wouldn't that mean that Ronald is saying Hank Sr was there on the 9th at 5:30 in the morning? It can't be the 10th cause Haleigh was already reported missing.

Somebody, please help me make sense of this...

p.s. IIRC, there was an insurance letter here, regarding Hank Sr's stay at the hospital, I thought it said he was released on tht 13th.... does anyone have that letter?

IMO. ron is relaying a story from days before Haleigh disapeared. ron then tells cobra who is new to the people, that that hank is the one who is/was in a wheelchair. presently to cobra at that time. meaning hank was talking to jo before his accident then cobra met or knew hank only in the chair cause that was what hank had after his release from the hospital.

What I found intresting is that hank sr. confronted jo all night long and then at 530 am tells jo to give it up (paraphrasing) I take this to mean that hank sr is an up all night kinda guy. He's still trying to hang w/ the youngin's. I can only imagine how drastically life has changed for the sr's starting the night Haleigh disappeared.

It would depend upon the time the doctor did daily rounds. I have been dismissed at 7 a.m. before, but 5:30 a.m. sounds a little early.

Jo has stated he visited his uncle in the hospital the day after Haleigh disappeared and has stated he and Lisa then went down to the police department to pick up Misty after LE finished questioning her.. He then states since Misty wasn't allowed to go back down on that road they stayed up at the store and hung flyers..
Misty also stated Jo was with her mother when they picked her up at the police station..
She also stated they delievered her father by ambulance from Shands Hospital because he was unable to be transported home by car...I was under the impression this all happened on the 10th..Am I wrong? Didn't Jo leave the evening of the 10th or did this all occur on the 11th? JMO

yes iirc. And yes all on the 10th.

BUT.... Someone stated hospital records indicate Hank Sr. was realeased on the 11th of February...

Sorry about that...
Correction.. Bessie stated..The case calendar shows Hank's accident as Feb. 7th and his release from the hospital as Feb. 11th.

BBM: Oh My!

cobra: hank, who is hank?

unknown: ( unintelligible interruption )

Sorry I had to post all that BUT wasn't HANK SR in the hospital the day Joe left town?

You should read my earlier posts in this thread. That is why I realized Ron slipped that the gun was the day Haleigh disappeared, not earlier.

I bolded it but Ron realizes he slipped and tried to cover.

"Man, hank is uh" IMO, that is when Ron realized he just blew it. If Hank was really Misty's Dad, why did he need to think about who Hank was? Then he tries to play it off as Hank is Misty's Dad.

I live in, AZ my son has often been realest in the very early morning, sometimes at 2 or 3 o'clock AM. Was was appalled when this first happen, but later learned they often do that if the person is ready for discharge that day, because they need the beds I have no idea about FL or his case.

well...I've read like everybody else, that Hank was in the hospital, but in the Gainsville unscripted reality show article, Hank said, 'Me & Lisa, we were both out of town, when Haleigh came up missing'. So, it seems that if he was in the confines of a hospital, he would've made that clear, & reading his statement, made me wonder where in the sam hill, he & Lisa really were.

Gainesville is out of town...JMO

actually, nothing hospitals do, surprises me. If a person has been admitted enough hours, according to insurance policy, to max out, then I can see a busier hospital sending someone on his way. & if a patient is uninsured, I can also see it.

Why does he hold the gun in his hand funny? At least, I don't know anything about guns but it looks funny to me, the way he keeps his hand and his gun horizontally, pointing sideways.
QUOTE]

Snipped: He is holding the gun mimicking the way a gang member, 🤬🤬🤬🤬, punk azz would hold it, ie., horizontally.

You know another thing that blows me away when I read these transcripts is Ronald's ability to even talk, without showing any emotion, about the possibility that his daughter's body may have been dumped in a river and eaten by alligators. What parent could even entertain that idea without some sign or display of emotion - even if just a catch in the voice to control (hold back) them!?

JMHO ~
there was a lot of criticism directed at GMF, for the gory stories she related, (with very little emotion), & then there was the flip side, where GGS was criticized for listenig & not displaying emotion. but none of those stories were more gruesome than this. He was her father.

So, exactly what does Cobra mean by,'they have Merchant's name mixed up with you, if you all was boys...' & did a cop really get pulled from the case because he had pot & coke in his car? a police car or personal car? was he arrested or was the desk job his only punishment?

I can't begin to imagine my kids or my dogs being thrown to alligators and just thinking about it gives me chills. IMO, RC didn't display any emotion because he knew that wasn't what happened to Haleigh.

In the Cobra Tapes when ron tells Cobra who is in trouble in the LE and gives his name, I must conclude rc is kept informed of everything going on in the Dept. Chances are one of his family members knows somebody that works there.

The last name of the person rc mentioned to Cobra matches the last name of a person on one on RC's dockets from the early years....dated 10-24-2001. This person (maybe a relative of the LE in trouble) filed an assault charge on rc.

Below is a paragraph from rc talking to Cobra about what he did when he left PDM. He doesn't mention the time (very coy) but he does give us enought information to tell us LE has said he took way too long getting home from work.

Now if he arrived home at 3:23 and got off work at 3:00am., the LE would NOT be questioning him on what took him so long. In fact they should have been asking him how that hezz did he get home so fast..

...."ron: at 3:26 is when the 911 call was made. so, i must have pulled in at
about 3:23. they also have ummm surveilance videos from the top of the
hill where it goes from two lanes to 4 lanes… they asked me if i was
there what took me so long to get home?
i said i stopped at the store…
well what store? i told em, well what did you buy? i said, i bought
a pack of basic lights in a box, i bought a pack of newport shorts
in a box, i bought a pack of honey roasted peanuts, i bought a pack of
salted peanuts, and i bought a 30 ounce Budweiser in a bottle.

ron: guess what? they went on pulled the tapes, guess what they found?

ron: now they said, well how the 🤬🤬🤬** did you get home from this amount
of time to this amount of time…
well because I drive like
a cracker ready to get home from work!"

Ron's words indicate he took way too long to get home, suggesting to me that he got off work earlier than 3:00am. I am just amazed that he once again left out the time he left work...if you are telling a story, a person would never speak like this, they would give the time. IMO, he is hiding something.

Why are we discussing hospitals releasing patients at 5:30 am?
RC says that HC had been on JO's 🤬🤬🤬 all night so IMO it does not refer to a day he got home from the hospital at 5:30. It's some earlier point in time when he wasn't in hospital yet and Joe was saying he would leave but didn't.

Some tough love for Joe, huh?

I agree, Whisperer, it's very unlike Ron to leave out a detail like the exact time in question. I've pointed out before what a stickler he is for details. He sure had his underwear rotation down. We hear him in the first part of this tale point out 3:23 and 3:26, but in the end he becomes cagey and gives that vague reference to the time. Yep, pretty fishy. But...I have a different take on LE's questions.

In the first sentence you bolded, LE is asking him why he took so long to get home from the point where the surveillance cameras picked him up, which he explains with the stop for peanuts, etc. They're not implying that it took him a long time to get home from work. That question comes up in the next sentence you bolded, when he says that he drives like a cracker. I interpret that to mean LE was doubtful that he could've left work at whatever time he claimed, stopped at the store and made it home for 3:23. In other words, they didn't think it took him too long to get home, rather he got home too soon.

But that doesn't explain why he went dumb about the time at the end. And here I agree with you. He has some unaccounted time. I'm guessing that he told LE he got off at 3 or had some alibi to cover his time up until 3, so they questioned how he could make it home in 23 minutes with a stop along the way. Seems like he goofed up on his timeline somewhere, miscalculated, and LE called him on it. In other words, it's a touchy issue, and that's why he's not specific with Cobra.

If they all were just "house hopping" between realtives can anyone really trace their whereabouts?
Has it ever been revealed why the Croslin's chose Satsuma?
Was it because of the Grandfather that owned the residence that Chelsea or Lyndsy lived in ( can't remember which girl it was...)
Yep thats the exact reason they ended up following down to Putnam Co. area. The story "... Ron and Misty Lost their way long ago..." an article from one of the local news media, it says that Lindsy and Tommy were living in home owned by Lindsy's grfather and that the rest of the Croslins followed them to settle in the area also...
