Seriously?! Nooo!

Edit: Well $h**. Just googled it. I love Star Trek, too. Now every time it comes on, I'm gonna be all like...

Yeah, there's already a thread. I have a bunch of friends who follow him on Facebook.

Who's next?

The Flash' Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg.

And Gary Goddard.

This thread is specifically about Louis, but in light of others being added to the mix in this thread, I might as well throw all the ‘perverts in power’ together [emoji4]

Just call it the The Perv Thread 2017 and link'em all. My better half, using levity, after I exclaimed GEORGE TAKEI, now!!, said, "At this point, I'd not be surprised, if Kermit the Frog, was next".

I said "Oh *****, not George Takei." And my husband said "Well, he was what, 80 years old?" I had to say no, not dead, just the latest name on the list.

Now you have me thinking which muppet is most likely to be accused of assault.. Dr. Bunsen Honeydew? Maybe Guy Smiley. Either one would break my heart.

I looked up George's age, right after I said Oh $*** GT! B/c I was thinkin' whaaaat???? Then saw that it was some years ago.

Ever watched Thelma and Louise. Check out the men in that movie (I've known at least one like every one of them in that movie). It's why I root for Thelma and Louise.

As for the Muppets? I would suspect those two old Hecklers out of all them. If it turns out to be Animal, or Grover, I'll be crushed.

Muppets Studio: Kermit the Frog Voice Actor Was Fired for ‘Unacceptable Business Conduct’

http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/muppets-studio-kermit-the-frog-1202497849/

UPDATED: The Muppet Studio, the division of The Walt Disney Co. responsible responsible for the Muppets, said Monday that it fired Kermit the Frog voice actor Steve Whitmire after “repeated unacceptable business conduct over a period of many years.”

“The role of Kermit the Frog is an iconic one that is beloved by fans and we take our responsibility to protect the integrity of that character very seriously,” a Muppet Studio spokesperson said in a statement Monday. “We raised concerns about Steve’s repeated unacceptable business conduct over a period of many years and he consistently failed to address the feedback. The decision to part ways was a difficult one which was made in consultation with the Henson family and has their full support.”

[ what is 'unacceptable business conduct'?]

Sex abuse lawsuits against 'Elmo' voice actor dismissed

Three lawsuits alleging sex abuse by Kevin Clash, the puppeteer who gave Sesame Street's Elmo his voice, were dismissed by a judge who ruled the accusers waited too long to sue.

Each accuser, all adult men, said they were courted and seduced by Clash when they were underage teenagers.
Sheldon Stephens, now 24, was the first to the first to publicly claim he had a sexual relationship with Clash as a teen. Stephens called it an "adult consensual relationship" in November 2012, but filed a lawsuit in March 2013 alleging Clash threw a crystal meth sex party for him in 2004, when he was 16.

A clerk with Manhattan District court confirmed that three lawsuits filed against Clash were dismissed on grounds that the statute of limitations had run out.

BBM

Not sure about this one. I'd read about him, back before all of this had come down, (the better half meant it tongue-in-check that it would be the puppet, Kermit, himself), and, I, at the time, took it that he was hard to work with. If it is the other, I think it will come out, very shortly.

Since Weinstein, Here’s a Growing List of Men Accused of Sexual Misconduct
by Dan Corey

In early October, reports surfaced that movie mogul Harvey Weinstein allegedly sexually harassed or assaulted multiple women over decades.

The public condemnation of Weinstein has seemingly emboldened others to come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against celebrities — with studios, networks and major companies responding — in what some have dubbed the “Weinstein ripple effect.”

Here’s a list of high-profile men who have been accused of sexual harassment, assault or both in the wake of the Weinstein scandal...

I wonder how many of these predators said they were "pro-women's rights" so they could lure them in. Kind of like how Sandusky set up a charity for kids.

Yes, Tig alluded to something like this...

I didn't realize how much of an, um, phenomena this nonprivate masterbating seems to be until recently in Abby's and Libby's case when DN's history outlined a record of such behavior, and so many members chimed in that this had happened to them. I was really surprised that this had happened to so many people here.

CNN just ran this story:

Why men use masturbation to harass women
www.cnn.com/2017/11/09/health/masturbation-sexual-harassment/index.html

*I am absolutely mortified to say you can add me to the list of people this has happened to/new member of the club. :(

It feels like rape.

Here Are All the Public Figures Who’ve Been Accused of Sexual Misconduct After Harvey Weinstein
http://time.com/5015204/harvey-weinstein-scandal/

*I think you're right rsd, we need a collective 2017Perv thread.

Yeah, I think I need to start a spreadsheet to keep track of these.

Has anyone watched the 2014 documentary "An Open Secret"? It's about the history of child sex abuse in Hollywood, all the pervs who prey on children and young teens (I think they refer to them as 'tweens' or 'twinks').

It's absolutely a must-watch documentary to be able to understand all the players involved and how the system has worked to keep it secret for so long.

The list of sex abusers in the entertainment industry is much longer than this article reveals.

"An Open Secret"

I don't often recommend videos about true crime, but I do this one. It's very well done, well researched and revealing. It shows how many more pervs are still out there victimizing kids because they're so wealthy and powerful. Cory Feldman is right, these people are so powerful that they're a legitimate threat to anyone who tries to "out" them.

Bryan Singer and anyone affiliated with one of his former companies called "Digital Entertainment Network" should be outed. Horrible outfit he formed with Mark Collins Rector - a movie mogul known to hold a gun to the head of young male child actors to get them to acquiesce.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Entertainment_Network

DEN was used by the founders and execs in charge as a vehicle to recruit male teens who wanted to be actors and force them into sexual relationships. Some were convicted, some escaped to other countries where they continue to seduce young men who want to become actors.
