One shooter dressed in black combat gear, dead, inside school office & another possible accomplice in handcuffs came from nearby woods(unconfirmed) Fox News. A news conference scheduled for 1 pm est has been delayed but should be shortly. 27 casualties-18 children..hospital on lock down.

I do not want to go into speculation, but I wonder if this could be terrorism.

I hadn't thought of that. My first thought was bullying played some part. I just read on yahoo news that a principal and school psych were among the victims.

The columbine thing was done by two shooters, but that's a totally different thing from an angry dad.

Washington sniper was an angry dad with an accomplice.

Me too. I'm in my work buildings cafeteria, everyone is just chattering happily, Christmas music playing. They don't know what I know. I want to get my kids from school.

who knows, maybe they thought he was a military dad coming to see his child or something. I'm just guessing. I can't get my head around this, I will never understand this.

Could be. I'd like to think the staff would know which children have parents in the military and if any were scheduled to arrive home around this time. Though, I guess knowing that kind of information would really depend on the number of students....

Reports are that the shooting started in the school office, and the gunman moved through the school continuing his rampage.

All I could think was that he thought he was in a video game.

I don't think you can put on all that gear and drive to a school while maintaining the hallucination that you are in a video game. Seems like you'd just hallucinate that you had on the gear and were at a school.

Right now, I don't think that it really matters HOW the gunman got into the school. That will come later. We know that however, he did get in and caused horrific damage! Just sickening...

Summarizing an interview I just heard on CNN:

There was a meeting in a room with a parent, the principal, vice principal and school psychologist. The parent was also a school volunteer. They heard the shots in the hallway. The psychologist, principal and vice went out in the hallway to investigate. The shooter shot all 3, but only got the vice in the leg/foot and he came back into the meeting room crawling. The parent who was there for the conference took cover under a table in the room and called 9-1-1. She stayed there until police led her out. She had to walk past the dead bodies in teh hallway.

Reports say LE looking for a purple van, so maybe that's why. Seems they think someone else involved is on the loose. Hope not!

The weird thing about buzzing people in at schools is...how are they supposed to know whether someone should be allowed in or not? When I go to my children's school, they just look at me and buzz me in. We have to figure out a better way....THIS isn't working to keep our babies safe!!

They can't. That's why armed guards and detectors MUST be put into place.

My 5 yo's school has a locked gate, however, you can walk into the administrative building and through another door right into the courtyard. I'm wondering if this is what happened and that's how the principal and social worker where killed

This is the first I've seen anything about a social worker. Makes me wonder if the parent had a scheduled am meeting with the social worker and principal.
