I knew nothing about her until reading this article. Interesting!

The 1970s sound like a difficult time for her with catching the measles while pregnant (I wish people today remembered the dangers of that!), and also suffering a miscarriage with a later pregnancy and then losing her parents.

She felt called to work with children without the fanfare of being a royal, and she saw the value of that work without wordly rewards - I admire that.

Rest in peace.

Britain’s Duchess of Kent, the wife of the cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth and best known for her long association with the Wimbledon tennis tournament, has died, Buckingham Palace said Friday. She was 92.

Born Katharine Worsley, she joined the royal family when she married Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, in 1961 after meeting him five years earlier when he was stationed at a military barracks in northern England.

Buckingham Palace said she had passed away peacefully on Thursday night at her home in Kensington Palace surrounded by her family...

Beautiful lady!

"He has long been a supporter of the textiles industry
– preserving traditional crafts as well as championing the work of up-and-coming designers.

Now King Charles
can lay claim to another link to top fashion houses after Dumfries House
– the estate he saved for the nation –
was used as the location for a photo shoot
published in prestigious magazine Harper’s Bazaar.

Prince Harry was seen entering King Charles III’s residence in London on Wednesday, months after Harry claimed his father refused to speak to him.

Buckingham Palace officials confirmed that the two met for a private tea at the king's private residence. It was the first time Harry and 76-year-old Charles have met in 19 months...
I hope these two can sort this out. Harry and William had to forgive the hideous way their father treated their mother. This makes the King look weak, IMO.

Tbh I am not sure it will ever be sorted out properly. Too much has gone on. William and Harry I do not think will sort things out. It is also fair to say Diana had her own issues.

I honestly am confused as a British person why this makes the King look weird?

True but I'll never understand how William can have a relationship with his terrible stepmother after how she did his mother.

At the end of the day they had an affair. Diana also had affairs. I was a massive Diana supporter but have moved on somewhat and think Camilla is doing a good job. Harry himself said after Charles got married that they were actually lucky to have Camilla in their life.

The OP said “weak,” not “weird.” 😊

I meant weak sorry LOL. I do think if Charles just forgot everything that the public here or much of it would think he was weak for that. Love your name btw

I was watching this on TV this morning and I am always amazed at how beautifully the British do things. Seeing Prince William and Princess Kate walk out to welcome the President and first lady as they exited Marine 1 and then walking them up to the castle to greet the King and Queen. The playing of both national anthems and then the carriages and so on. Watching them all warmly talk and laugh was beautufl as well.

"President Donald Trump received a stunning gesture from King Charles
at the start of his historic second UK state visit
when the monarch invited him to walk ahead of him
during his ceremonial welcome.

Trump was invited by the monarch to take the lead
when inspecting soldiers at his guard of honour outside Windsor Castle -
the largest ever for a state occasion.

President Trump appeared delighted at being asked to inspect the Guard of Honour.

The King appeared to make a point - possibly because of previous criticism levelled at the US leader for walking in front of the late Queen
- of inviting his guest to walk ahead of him as they traversed the first two lines."
