#NewJersey #Coronavirus Update: State officials confirm second presumptive positive in the state. They say the risk for the majority of the population is still low.

No information was given on the new case other than that the person is from North Jersey.

2nd Presumptive Positive Case of Coronavirus In NJ

More information about the first patient:

The 32-year-old Fort Lee man, meanwhile, has been hospitalized at Hackensack University Medical Center since Tuesday.

Health officials say he developed symptoms on March 1, got medical care on March 2 at an urgent care facility before going to the emergency room at Hackensack.

The patient had limited close contact with other New Jersey residents. Those who did have contact – which may have been mostly in New York City – have been asked to self-quarantine.

Fort Lee Mayor Mark J. Sokolich confirmed the presumptive coronavirus case to Patch, saying "the next steps are critical steps." Sokokich said he's waiting for more information from health officials. One of the possible decisions that needs to be made, he said: Do areas of Fort Lee need to be quarantined? "I don't know what measures have to be taken," he told Patch. "I'm hoping they don't have to be drastic."

Mike Pence admits America does NOT have enough testing kits to meet coronavirus demand | Daily Mail Online

Mike Pence revealed Thursday that the administration will not be able to follow through on its promise to deliver 1 million coronavirus testing kits by the end of the week.

'We don't have enough tests today to meet what we anticipate the demand going forward,' Pence admitted during a visit to a 3M Company plant in Minnesota Thursday afternoon.
:mad::mad:

That’s all I got right now.

I've done it. Several times in fact - different highways and byways. (NJ to CA) (NJ to OR) This country has so many beautiful places. Put it on you bucket list for sure, for when you do have time.
I actually did it twice as a child. I think we'll do it for sure when I retire. :)

At an event hosted by lobbying group PhRMA Wednesday, Gilead CEO Daniel O’Day said

It’s hard to talk about pricing without knowing the value to society,” he said.

I find this to be utterly mercencary, utterly chilling, and a despicable thing to say in the midst of the public concerns about this epidemic.

To me, it says: So, just how much are YOU willing to pay for this drug

I'm horrified. And I'm sure our politicians are lining up to become his BFF right now so they can make $$$ of of his company's drug

I think we are truly beginning to see the results from the “it’s not that serious”, “we’ve got it under control”, and the continued, “ very low public risk”. Truth will always set you free. We the people deserve that much when it’s our lives at stake. MOO IMO

TBH, Id expect nothing less from people who dont even believe in science

I will keep my post non-political here. I thought it was baloney when they said earlier this week they’d have that many tests. I knew they wouldn’t. I’m just so SO disappointed that I was right. :(:(

And .

I dont think its controversial to say you wish the people leading the fight against a possible pandemic be properly trained health professionals who believe in science.

If that was the case, I'd feel better about what might happen

But if the mortality rates wind up being less than half of a very low percentage, who would buy it?
