LEGAL

While we're on the subject of disease and death, it's timely to mention, that there's no time like now to take care of your legal affairs.

To prepare, Health Directives, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Living Trusts, etal.
We are using RocketLawyer. Very easy, you complete online then print, and have signed, witnessed and or notarized.

It's free for the first 7 days, so you can do all this and actually get it all free. After that, it's $39.95 per month for continued legal papers (which we need as we're getting ready to sell our business).

My favorite place for reviews of any product is TrustPilot. They have excellent reviews there. *No I'm not affiliated, I'm just sharing with you the best way, I know how, to take care of this necessary stuff.

So 2 different airports and nothing....I have no faith in our ability to best this....

I’ve felt for quite some time now that there’s really no “stopping” this thing, but this almost feels like they’re rolling out the red carpet for its arrival!

Even if it can’t be contained, there should still be vigilant urgency given in an attempt to slow the progression. From my point of view, I see a lot of bass ackward thinking going on.

The US Government and the agencies in charge had best get with the program. They’re all about to get slapped in the face with a HUGE DOSE OF REALITY!

There appears to be a chronic mixture of denial and arrogance at almost every level. And I am in no way placing the fault on one party or the other - the failures thus far are those of THE US GOVERNMENT as a whole. They ALL need to gain focus on the fight with COVID-19. There will be plenty of time for them to fight with each other on political issues and departmental power plays once this thing is over.

It’s like watching a fire truck pulling up to a raging high rise apartment fire, and all the firemen start arguing about the best hose to use, what water pressure is best, who should turn on the water, and who should hold the hose!!! Will someone just start putting some water on the fire already!

Come to think of it, I wish firefighters and first responders were in charge of this thing - at least they “get it”!

IF there’s any rational logic to not screening passengers arriving from known hot spots in the world, I would LOVE TO HEAR IT!!

MOO.....

I worry about everything, lol. I hesitate to put my state in my profile. I follow some horrific criminal cases. If a perp were clever, how easy would it be to sleuth us? Find us? Goodness I am over the top tonight.

I agree. I don't know if it's wise.

After doing some local poking around, it seems this has been floating around my local area and community for a while now moo jmo. This is of course NO SURPRISE. We all knew this was happening and we all knew the numbers were low simply because of testing.

It sucks when you have no control. I have control issues LOL ahhaha

How many of us are incubating as we speak?

It is what it is.

I agree, Seattle is the "hot spot".

Unfortunately, I think a big chunk of California is right in the mix. I can’t believe the number of different counties that have confirmed cases already. If most of those are community spread, that covers a lot of real estate - and a lot of people.

Coronavirus: No new infections in China’s Hubei province outside disease epicentre

For the first time since China started publishing national infection data for Covid-19 – the disease caused by the coronavirus
– there were no new infections in Hubei province outside its capital Wuhan, where the outbreak originated.

China’s National Health Commission said on Friday all of the 126 new cases in the province were in Wuhan. There were 29 new deaths in Hubei, of which 23 were in the provincial capital, bringing the province’s total death toll to 2,931.

Living in Paradise, Ca. Where so many died from that horrific firestorm, I'm pretty sure that they realized that anything can happen. God bless them.

Well, I just visited my old people (parents) in Paradise, ca, and have warned them to stay away from town and large gatherings. I bought them a ton of sanitizers and told them if they go anywhere to wash their hands frequently. I'm so glad they are listening and taking it seriously.

Basically it’s a waste of manpower, since it’s not very reliable. It’s probably more effective to have extra workers actually cleaning high traffic areas. IMO

Haha. My final prep shopping today was Trader Joe's. Yes, a case of two buck chuck cabernet and cookie topped chocolate brownies. OMG on the brownies... ;-)

Going to find wine and chocolate. Goodnight sleuthers from King County.

Maybe even some gummies @margarita25

From the CDC site:

For disinfection, diluted household bleach solutions, alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol, and most common EPA-registered household disinfectants should be effective.
  • Diluted household bleach solutions can be used if appropriate for the surface. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application and proper ventilation. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted.
    • Prepare a bleach solution by mixing:
      • 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water or
      • 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Household bleach is about as cheap a cleaner as you can get.

Something to that add that is very important that isn't noted above is that it needs to be put in an opaque container, or kept away from light.

Any sunlight will degrade it as the half life of sodium hypochlorite is 30 minutes in sunlight. That is why all bleach is sold in opaque containers. ( some bleaches have stabilizers, but most do not... and now that I think about it that amount of stabilizer is for the concentrated solution that it comes in, so when you dilute it for your spray, it doesn't have enough stabilizer in it to stabilize it if that makes sense)

THIS!!!!!
And I’m becoming more and more worried that those in charge think “well, eventually they’ll all get the virus, so why even try?”. That’ll get them off the hook for a lot of social security, lots of people with health problems, homeless, etc. not to mention there is TONS of ageism when I hear “only those elderly people” Grrrrr!
Sorry, had to vent.

Just go stand on the corner in front of the hospital and drive slowly by, I'll see you.

Right. I was just thinking that. “The risk is low.” Until it’s not

TECHNICALLY SPEAKING - it probably is pretty low at this very moment. But, it’s VERY MISLEADING, when you know that statement won’t hold true for very long as the viral spread progresses...

The change in tone, regarding how the situation is being presented is concerning to me. There are two conflicting goals with every presser 1) Promote optimism and manage fear levels 2) Keep the public informed

I understand it, and I fully expect the message, and the tone in which it is delivered, to change as the situation progresses.

Government officials generally know what tomorrow’s news will be well before the general public does. I really think we’ll see some big increases in confirmed cases as early as tomorrow. Which would make sense considering the volume of test kits that have now been distributed.

About to call it a night. I want to get some rest because I have a feeling this thread will be hopping tomorrow! (and I can’t keep up the way it is...)

MOO....
