The 5 new today and the 8 new yesterday all have no information provided, just says "under investigation".

What worries me is the second case just reported in Washoe County, NV (where Reno is). It says it's a young man who traveled to Santa Clara!

I know they won't tell us, but I really want to know what kind of crowded events he was in while in Santa Clara County or whether he had close contact with someone already diagnosed. I want to distinguish those cases from ones where the person caught it from a random surface like an ATM machine or just breathing the air in a supermarket etc.

Wear glove at the ATM and dispose of properly and quickly moo. . It doesn’t always work with the touch screen and that sucks (and neither will a knuckle) but sometimes it does.

Mooooooooo

Alright, so has everybody talked to their elderly relatives and advised them seriously that this is no joke?

I’m trying to think of positive to do actions.

My almost 80 year old mom freaked when I gently suggested that her and my 83 year old dad might consider staying out of church for a while. I am so worried for them. Not me, them.

Ah, no, Dr. Carson who is not a politician, was called upon to help with the housing and urban development HUD, as well as the homeless. I, and others consider him to be a kind, intelligent, highly educated man who just wants to help make a difference.
He's no politician.
If I had the ability to clone him, a million times, I would. Just my humble opinion.

Carson was painful to watch and listen to this morning. I almost forgot he was a part of the Cabinet, haven't heard much from him. Did they roll him out there as the administration's spokesperson because he is a brain surgeon? I would personally hope for more from a pediatric neurologist, but he gave us nothing but rehearsed, pat answers. . JMO

So if a gathering is large enough that staying 6 feet apart in the location is impossible...as in an auditorium, church, classroom, concert venue, crowded store, movie theatre, political rally, etc...well, that’s about what I figured. It doesn’t leave many places to go.

True that!

Yup. It makes no sense to announce that crowds of 1000 are okay since it only takes one person to sneeze less than 6 feet away and there is a good chance of contamination. That's sounds crazy and alarmist, but that is the distance that is established for now.

Whether the crowd is 5 or 1000, one person infected is all it takes.

Many people here know what you mean.

Flabbergasted. So, no, I cannot help you understand. Sorry.

Britons are allowed out of Milan and surrounding areas. When they get home to the UK, they will not be met or screened. The govt would like it if they would self-isolate for 14 days but there is no
obligation to do so.

Please help me figure that one out.

WTH! I just checked Amazon Fire Stick, there's about 50 shows at the banner, all of them about Pandemic, Viruses, Flu.

My husband went to church today, against my wishes. Shrug. At that age, it is more about "How", not so much "When". Flu is probably a better "choice" than a stroke, or slow decline in a nursing home.

They do what they do.

I nagged my parents every day. They are on board now. Didn't go to church today. I'm so relieved.

I AM the older (I can’t handle “elderly” yet) relative. I’m trying to figure out how to advise our 49 yo daughter who flies a lot for work that this seriously is no joke. She doesn’t have a choice and I don’t want her to worry about us.

Yes. I've already figured out that if I do go on my trip, I will make sure I don't need to do any errands like going to an ATM. I will bring with me food I can heat in the retirement home guest room microwave, so I don't need to eat out nor go into the home's big dining hall nor go to grocery stores. I already always get gas well outside the bay area.

I will have one stop at our (outdoor, thankfully) storage unit, and then the rest of the time I'll be on the grounds of the retirement home -- either with my mom in her room or the memory-care common area, or in the guest room where I sleep (and eat, this trip). I can take walks around the grounds and parking lot etc without running into other people.

And my usual weeklong trip will probably be 2–3 days instead. I will bring masks in case of problems that require crowded rooms. I will bring gloves for any surface contacts outside of my own vehicle.

All this is if I even go at all.

NEW: U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar says he and 3 staff members are under self-quarantine after "sustained contact" with a person with coronavirus at CPAC. None of them have symptoms.
