Just wanted to share this in case others are experiencing this too.

I have found I am going through a roller coaster set of emotions, where some days I am able to read the news updates and handle things in a more methodical mechanical way by listening, learning, and taking the small steps we can do which are often covered here.

Then on certain other days, I am not handling the news as well, and getting some high anxiety days where I have to take breaks and do like was suggested yesterday where I watch some regular entertainment TV (esp comedy) which is a nice break and seems to help on those days like that.

Its been one heck of a roller coaster of emotions for me.

This is true of so many. Here’s a helpful article about anxiety I posted last night. I think it has been posted here awhile back and I just got around to reading it.

I need a root canal, only appointment is in 2 weeks...tooth hurts, and it ain't getting better. What to do? Doesnt seem I have a choice
Coconut oil and tree oil can help the pain. Some mouthwash's have those ingredients. Add garlic to your food can help kill the bacteria affecting your tooth root.

I am astounded by the number of people that assume they are not at risk. Evidently many are shedding the virus, despite not feeling ill, but infecting those around them. I personally will avoid social functions for the time being. My social life will primarily be with horses and dogs.
I am astounded at the selfishness of so many of my fellow humans that I’ve witnessed in the past week around me here. It’s quite something.

It's been quite the experience watching the virus devastate one country after the next, all the while being told that everything is fine. We've felt silly prepping for isolation, torn between concern that the same devastation will come to our city and thinking that we are over-reacting.

What is becoming clear to me is that lockdown in China and Italy is the only option to slow the virus, reduce the number of hosts for the virus, and manage the overwhelmed health system.

Some people have their head in the sand full time. We should have our head in the sand some of the time to preserve sanity, but we also need to pop up, look around, and ensure that we protect ourselves.

New York under the leadership of Governor Cuomo is taking some of the strongest and sensible mitigation steps in U.S. to slow spread of #coronavirus epidemic. It stands in stark contrast to Washington State, which has been slow to act forcefully in Seattle New York to Close Gathering Spaces in Coronavirus-Hit Suburb

Scott Gottlieb, MD on Twitter

"This isn’t the draconian measures practiced in China. NY is closing places where large groups of people gather in areas of sustained community spread. This is sensible, carefully tailored mitigation strategy. Cuomo isn’t taking away people’s liberty - just closing the local mall."

President Trump said he did not get tested for coronavirus even after he met with some lawmakers who had been exposed to the virus ...

"It's something I would do, but again, spoke to the White House doctor -- a terrific guy a talented guy. He said he sees no reason to do it," Trump said.

Health experts issued an ominous warning about a coronavirus pandemic 3 months ago. The virus in their simulation killed 65 million people.
Health experts issued an ominous warning about a coronavirus pandemic 3 months ago. The virus in their simulation killed 65 million people.
Eric Toner, a scientist at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, wasn't shocked when news of a mysterious coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan, China, surfaced in early January.

Less than three months earlier, Toner had staged a simulation of a global pandemic involving a coronavirus.

Coronaviruses typically affect the respiratory tract and can lead to illnesses like pneumonia or the common cold. A coronavirus was also responsible for the outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome in China, which affected about 8,000 people and killed 774 in the early 2000s.

"I have thought for a long time that the most likely virus that might cause a new pandemic would be a coronavirus," Toner said.

(Only a simulation!)
That's eerie .... Thanks for posting !

2 weeks??
My husband went yesterday and they called him in early due to cancelations. His crown fell off.
He took my 85 to MIL today for a routine cleaning. She just finished a year of chemo and radiation for breast cancer in February.
I told him I highly didn't recommend she go.
She said she's not changing anything.
Going to go her prolia shot next week.
I inherited primary immune deficiency and I have been home the last 6 days self isolating.
It's really bugging me that she's dragging my husband into hospitals and parking decks of large medical offices. He isnt going to tell her no.
~but, what do I know!

Lol actually they’ve been preparing for a new Corona for years, they just didn’t know what the strain would be.
It was just reported that a lot of places performing tests do not report to CDC, so any count is inaccurate, no one actually knows.

“End of week”, “End of week”, “End of week”...
:rolleyes::rolleyes:

“trying”, “in coming days”, “hopefully”, “awaiting”:rolleyes:

I feel taken a fool at this point and I’m absolutely FED UP!!

The US has had WEEKS- nay at least 2 MONTHS- to prepare. Get your act together.

MOO.
