Additionally. I'm sure they received the best care possible. Yet as young as they were. It still killed them.

It must be absolutely horrendous to be dying from a condition you are a specialist in and know there is no hope of recovery or survival.

I think the Cruise industry must be trying to avoid freefall in their bookings. Especially on these billion-dollar megacruise ships that have something like 4,000 people on board. And the airline industry.

Then all those industries that supply fuel, food, supplies to those cruise and airline vendors. Then travel companies and outfitters. Downstream effects on those who depend on tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, rental cars, etc.

Who the hell would take a cruise at a time like this! Trapped on a germ incubator. Ugh.

Well, even if there is no general quarantine, but the US is reporting sporadic, but widespread outbreaks, I think you will find many public gatherings will be cancelled:

Sporting events, esp at major arenas
Movie Theaters
Public Lectures
Political rallies ( no loss there, IHMO)
Church services
Concerts
Festivals ( summer concerts, Coachella, Lollapalloza, etc)
Parades ( think 4th of July)
Casinos
etc, etc

And then think of all the jobs and income lost for people who work to supply, attend, clean, reserve, house, decorate any of these major events

If that happens it will be economically catastrophic.

Most people who have been in the hospital or have worked in hospitals test positive for MRSA. It surprised me that I did. I didn't even know it.

I wonder if the COVID19 could sneak up on someone like that.

This is the infected area in Italy today. The Milan fashion show is held as a virtual event.

Ok here’s where I’m at right now, at this moment, not to sound like an alarmist:

Imo there's a chance WHO and CDC will declare a Pandemic, perhaps as soon as tomorrow (maybe), if not in the coming days or weeks.

The minute the “P” word hits Facebook and Twitter it’s over. This is when we will really see the masses at the stores and the shortage of goods/bare shelves, when the “P word” hits social media and spreads like wildfire online.

Therefore, I’m going TODAY, right now, (which sucks because I have to get out of my comfie Sunday jammies), to go pick up a huge bag of dog food. It’s one of the last items on my list.

And after that I’m broke :D Too bad because I’d love some beer. Forgot about that!! Good thing I bought my supplies first or I’d have all beer and no supplies lol.

Anyway, regardless if a pandemic is ever declared or not, I have the peace of mind knowing I’ve got toilet paper and my other necessities and that I don’t have to leave the house this week or for the short term. I’m all about the “peace of mind”.

Of course if the situation escalates, what about the long term? Two weeks of “toilet paper” will only do so much.

Is today the “window of opportunity”?

I say call your pharmacies and see if you can get an extra month of meds. Last place you’ll want to be is a pharmacy if this breaks.

Everything is MOO as always.

ETA2: @Medstudies , I better stock up on weed too

Yes I was just reading exactly about that. I can’t remember where atm.

(Reminder to self, I still need to read your Mecca article)

I can’t keep up!

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, I have a friend in her 70's who is planning a cruise in mid-march. She's been telling me what a great deal they got.

Please please please advise her against it.

If anyone takes the risk they run the risk of quarantine and the US will NOT fly and come get you (if she’s an American).

I’m not sure where her cruise is going but you have to advise her against it, moo. Jmo.

Of course she may not be going to Asia, but still moo.

Here is the CDC telebriefing you can send her:

In the meantime, four Turkish citizens who recently travelled to Turkey from Iran have been hospitalized in the eastern province of Van, with three of them in intensive care on suspicion of a coronavirus infection, according to a report by the Euronews Turkish edition on Sunday. It is not yet clear whether these persons have contracted the deadly virus.

Mail order.
I have my Amazon basket ready.
All I have to do is hit submit, but I'm noticing that some of the items on my list are selling out!
I might as well face it, I'm going to have to order them soon anyway, I might as well do it.
Eek!
MOO
