I’m seeing a lot of “pressure” starting to accumulate online upon WHO re: the declaration of the “P” word. There is already a lot of buzz starting on if WHO is dropping the ball.

Considering the recent events, tomorrow will be a very interesting PC. We are obviously seeing “sustained human to human transmission” and intercontinental cases.

Maybe WHO will declare a “P” tomorrow.

And if so:

Herat. I want to reply to the “Amazon situation”. It is deep. I can not go there atm lol. Putting that on the side to comment on later.
Thanks,

My question kinda isn't a joke.

Off topic

Thanks for posting an airplane 2 movie video clip @margarita25 I love those films. We need a break sometimes from the horrendous news we are posting on a daily basis about this global crisis.

Dear Greg, I just want to say, (and I’ve thought this to myself many times in here as we are all sharing this “Journey” together), how happy and grateful I am that you are here with us after all the health challenges you have faced. It is truly a blessing. (Tears). Hugs. :hearts:

I would think no, if there were a "shelter in place" ordered and all stores were closed, it would apply to Amazon as well.
That explains why I haven't gotten my dog bed though. I ordered one of the fuzzy round ones from China over a month ago.
I DO NOT WANT IT NOW!
I'd be afraid to touch it to unwrap it.

Speaking of prepping:

I know paper money is absolutely filthy.

Can it be sterilized by microwaving it?

google that Herat, because there's a million qs and as.
Microwaving, washing, steaming...
Ironing, popped out, for paper?

Thanks,

My question kinda isn't a joke.

Oh believe me it ain’t no joke. I’m serious. Very serious.

(“Surface transmission” is way too deep atm for me without coffee, not to mention the economic impact re: Amazon. I have posted a couple articles on this, will look for them.)

Well, if that isn't a red flag, then nothing is!!
MOO

What is interesting, is that Main Stream Media is not going to report something like that as "news". But this is something "small", on the street "news".

We will be seeing more of this.

WHO Pandemic Phases

Phase 5
is characterized by human-to-human spread of the virus into at least two countries in one WHO region (Figure 4)23. While most countries will not be affected at this stage, the declaration of Phase 5 is a strong signal that a pandemic is imminent and that the time to finalize the organization, communication, and implementation of the planned mitigation measures is short.

WHO REGIONS. The boundaries and names shown and the designations used on this map do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of the World Health Organization concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city or area of (more...)

Phase 6, the pandemic phase, is characterized by community level outbreaks in at least one other country in a different WHO region in addition to the criteria defined in Phase 5. Designation of this phase will indicate that a global pandemic is under way.

What the heck???
"CDC has developed a new laboratory test kit for use in testing patient specimens for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus that causes COVID-19."
"The test will not be available in U.S. hospitals or other primary care settings."
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
MOO

Yes, this has been discussed. To catch you up, the test right now is ONLY being distributed to 11?? certain surveillance locations in the US before all can have. It's not for hospitals or such at this time.

This is an old CDC post when they first came out with the test for such. MOO Scary that this post is only 3 weeks old perhaps.. but it was announcement right after Feb 11th or so iirc.

Unfortunately the CDC site doesn't date their media posts, which is a PROBLEM IMHO as folks think is recent as you just did MOO

What the what??

"New tests will be distributed once this issue has been addressed.
CDC continues to perform initial and confirmatory testing."

Well, in terms of prepping,

I'm planning on a 4 week quarantine.

I'm thinking that 14 days just simply isn't enough

Thank you very much for your kindness @margarita25 I am very grateful to be among friends here everyday. Thankfully I’m doing ok health wise just now. The only problem is every time I sneeze now I worry I might have coronavirus. I hope everyone here is well and stays well.

I mentioned earlier in the thread about ordering glasses from an online company in Tx a month ago. They guarantee delivery in 7 - 14 days. I'm still waiting. They gave me a discount for the delay. They said they are having trouble getting raw materials. I'm sure it's r/t the virus.

(Gosh, talk about “clearing the room” when someone rips one..)

Seriously!

(Don’t worry, no more fart jokes as this is a very serious situation, but please know this is very difficult for me.)

(See my 1000 posts at above link)

It makes me think of the virus spreading in third world countries and communities (some in the US) that don't have good sanitation. Hadn't thought of sewers or outdoor toilets as a disease vector, but, yeah. Homeless populations...

Here's info from a UN investigation in the United States from a few years ago.

UN Expert Connects U.S. Water and Sanitation Struggles to Poverty - Circle of Blue

The Census Bureau's American Community Survey found in 2018 there were about 1.6 million Americans in of households without complete plumbing facilities.

In 2019, that number rose to 2 million

2 million Americans don’t have access to running water and basic plumbing
The report’s analysis drew upon data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. Given that survey’s limitations — it doesn’t ask about wastewater services or about the affordability or reliability of water service, the authors said — they also conducted qualitative research on a handful of regions (the Navajo Nation, California’s Central Valley, the Texas colonias, Appalachia, Puerto Rico and the rural South) that struggle with adequate water and sanitation access.

Most all hospitals have to go through their own State Health Departments to get specimens submitted to the CDC.

No laboratory testing for COVID-19 is being performed at most all hospitals.

They are, however, doing testing for influenza and other respiratory pathogens as per usual.

For the week ending Feb 15:

The CDC Influenza report notes 13 pediatric DEATHS, bringing the seasonal total to 105

Rates of pediatric and young adult influenza hospitalizations are slightly higher than in past seasons.

The overall % of deaths attributable to pneumonia and influenza is 6.8%, just under the epidemic rate of 7.3%.

So folks, Influenza is still out there.
