just heard on news with Lester Holt that the booster loses efficacy
After 4 months --- I was wondering about that so it is good to have
That Information--- however, no info as to if a 4th shot is recommended,
And for what group of people
I agree. To me this is the best overall solution.@ilovewings,
Book yourself a fabulous hotel stay during the family visit.
Let your hubs deal with his children alone.
He will have to take the test and isolate before you are able to return home.

Wishing you stamina and luck. You'll find your groove quickly. Our restaurant is having it's first "celebration event" in over 2 years, Valentine's Day, this Monday, in Southern California.
We have large outside patio. Weather is expected to be in the high 70's.
There will be some "winging" it.
Items I need from my food suppliers for this menu are hit and miss.
We are also out of practice!
Hopefully, we can pull it off and deliver a great dinner and service to our loyal customers. Lord knows, we are in need of a positive night that supplies not only good vibes, but a cash infusion.
I'm digging deep on this because I'm fighting myself on saying F it.
Thankfully, I've always been a fighter.
But at 68, I'm tired.
This virus has been very cruel to all of us.
Wish me "stamina".
Quite honestly, there are practicalities to the matter.
When a customer says "I am 88 years old and I really want only vaccinated people in my house", or says "my husband has cancer and is susceptible, are the crew vaccinated?" what do you do?
Tell them it is none of their business (or none of our business) and forego the well-paying work?
Tell them that the vaccinated crew could still give them covid anyway?
Leave them to try to find someone else who might tell them?
Or do you be smart, and find out who is vaccinated among your staff, and use those people for these types of jobs?
It is a different world when public health concerns are a high priority. And the 'right' to keep your vax status confidential is of a lesser importance than that.
Yeah, that sounds creepy that random people or strangers would ask your vaccination status.
I can’t imagine having that type of conversation with a random shopper in the grocery store line for example. Maybe a nod and hello is about it for chitchat when I’m out and about in public.
I did ask the home health care agency that sends their employees who come into my house if the nurses/aides/PT were vaccinated and to confirm they would wear masks.
Just because they would be in very close contact with a family member.

Just want to say. Covid has destroyed so many Mom and Pop operations like ours.
Literally unknown thousands upon thousands of them.
Each with a tale to tell.
I really hope someday we hear some of their stories.
This virus is all about people. Their families, their lives and their businesses.
Someday, a historical book or two will be written.
The pain of not being able to say goodbye to a loved one.
Rarely does our news media cover those stories.
Anyway. Sunlight kills this virus. Embrace the sun whenever you can.
Off to make my Italian Wedding Soup for the lovers coming Monday.

Absolutely! You have every right to request persons who are vaccinated and masked.
In my mother's nursing home, I don't think the workers were ever vaccinated--at least not most of them. Omicron has spread wildfire through the home--but just the workers--not the residents like my mom who are vaccinated. For some reason I thought health workers were required to get the shot, but I'm pretty sure they didn't there.
To be sure, if there's a valid health reason, it's prudent to tell others that you want only vaccinated persons coming to a house, attending a function, etc. Knowing, of course, that they could lie. We've certainly seen evidence of that.
I just took the post to mean a situation such as what happened to me in my dentist office recently. We were all masked--via the dentists' rules--but were talking about the virus. I offered that I'm vaccinated, but I didn't ask if the other two people were. They didn't offer so I didn't know if they were or not. But, I didn't feel it was my place to ask them.
As to the workers on our crew? We don't know if they are or aren't vaccinated. I know the ones I suspect are not vaccinated, but we never made the shot a condition of employment. They're a loyal and highly skilled crew. I wouldn't want any of them to quit over the issue.
