My partner had COVID last month. We made it through the pandemic up until then... but it started going around at his work. He works mostly outdoors, but then there's riding around in the trucks. First him, missed me (as soon as he felt sick, he went to the spare room) and then his closest co-worker.
He still has a lingering cough/tightness in his chest. Generally just feeling tired. His coworker is still feeling awful, too. The cough was really horrible up until about last week - it's only just settled down but is still bothersome at night. He's been drinking tea nonstop lol.
Thankful that it missed me this time. As soon as he felt off, he went to the spare room, used the other bathroom and I just left everything at the door for him. I was convinced it would get me, especially because the smallest colds turn into bronchitis and pneumonia for me and my immune system is weak. For him, a cold is usually nothing, but the chest symptoms were pretty brutal.
They finally announced booster info since it's been over six months for most of us now, so looks like in September we can get boosted. Partner and I have had our three shots so we're eager for more!
Lots of people we know are down with it. My brother's office is shut down completely at the moment, with everyone working remotely. My office has opted to remain completely remote (with a choice to book an office day here and there if you want a change of pace) which has really helped.
Hope everyone is doing okay. I concur with what someone else said that it feels neverending. With hospitalizations increasing here, I too feel like we'll be on the path back to mask mandates by the fall - I'm a-okay with that.
