Cant you just go to your local pharmacy to get that booster? My plan is to go to Rite Aid early next week
My booster came from Meijer. Appointments were only a few days out.

That is just it. I need 48 hours for the side effects. The last three vaccines I really reacted to. Fever, aches. Etc. of course better than full blown COVID but I really need to do it when I can take a day or two off work. And not so close to vacation.
I had the same reactions.

I survived my annual mammogram this morning :D Similarly to last year, the tech asked when I had my last Covid vaccine or booster shot. Ascension is adhering to their established protocol of not performing mammograms within 6 weeks following these injections. That said, if a physician recommends that a patient undergo screening immediately, they will proceed on a case-by-case basis.

Masks are no longer required in the lobby, elevators, or hallways of the Ascension outpatient medical facility but were required in the Imaging Center.

@anneg, yes it was Bebtelovimab. I would take it again if needed. I am leaps and bounds better in 24-36 hours after my infusion. I did a quick check online to see if diastolic pressure drop was a side effect but didn't see much. I'm moving in a much better direction and MOO monoclonal antibodies is a big reason why.
It's great to hear that it is helping you so much! I did look it up and found this: Bebtelovimab Intravenous: Uses, Side Effects, Interactions, Pictures, Warnings & Dosing - WebMD

Pain, soreness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site may occur. If you notice any of these effects, tell your health care professional promptly.

An injection reaction may occur while this product is being given and up to 24 hours after injection, causing symptoms such as low or high blood pressure, dizziness, slow/fast/irregular heartbeat, chest pain, trouble breathing, fever, chills, nausea, headache, confusion, sweating, or muscle pain. Get medical help right away if you notice any of these symptoms.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

The first two times I got COVID, I wasn’t vaxxed. Vaccines weren’t available yet in March 2020 and in in January 2021, vaccines might have just started to roll out, but they were only offered to a select population of people. When I got COVID a third time (January 2022), I had just gotten my first booster a week or so prior.
So just to be clear on my end you had your vaccine and a booster and yet you still got Covid a third time?
Are you or rather did you experience Covid mildly? Or rather how did you experience it? And are you experiencing any long-term side effects?

May I ask which antibody treatment you got? Was it bebtelovimab? I believe that is the one being used these days.
My husband received one of the antibody infusions but it didn’t work for him. I believe it was because he was past the period of time that it needed to be administered. He tested positive on January 3 however he had it/contracted it the last week in December but wasn’t able to get the infusion until January 11th.

ETA: my husband had the monoclonal infusion.

The Novavax vaccine's potential side effects include severe allergic reactions:
UPDATE 2-EU adds severe allergies as side effect of Novavax COVID vaccine

The European Medicines Agency on Thursday identified severe allergic reactions as potential side effects of Novavax Inc's COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccine was authorized by U.S. regulators on Wednesday, and its product label in the United States warns against administering the shot to people with a history of allergic reactions to any components of the shot....

Welp, I ended up going to the urgent care today. I’m fine…still Covid positive, but I have developed a Covid related sinus and ear infection, so I’m on antibiotics and a steroid pack. The ear pain is unreal. I could not sleep last night and when I got up this morning, my ear was so full feeling and painful. I should have been steadily taking Mucinex and using a nasal saline to keep the mucous thin and flowing. Just thought I’d let anyone else know that the virus can cause ear and sinus infections too. If you are feeling stuffy and can’t breathe through your nose ask your doctor if you can take a decongestant. The doctor recommended Mucinex or Sudafed. Hope everyone else is getting better. When I was out today going to the urgent care - I noticed hardly anyone is wearing masks. I learned the hard way…gotta keep wearing my mask everywhere I go.

I’m sorry to hear that @Gypsy Road! I have a slightly deviated septum and suffer from frequent sinus infections as a result. Sometimes the sinus pressure will also lead to an accompanying ear infection, and so I feel for you because they really are the worst. I hope you start feeling better soon!!

I've been following on and off, mainly on right now because COVID has managed to find me. I had an elderly neighbor that fell so we called 911. I followed in my car and as soon as I entered the ER (with K95) I knew I was in trouble. It was packed with very sick people. After sitting with my neighbor for 5 hours, nursed told me he had tested positive for COVID. So Monday I tested positive. I have never had a headache like this. I have RA so doctor told me to go to ER for iv monoclonal iv. I had called ER asking about best time to go and they indicated 5-7 a.m. Got there are 4. The monoclonal iv dropped my bp like crazy, bottom number was 30. They finally got it back up to 45 but man I'm like a limp cloth. Anyway thanks for letting me share my COVID tale. Best wishes for those feeling ill, I'd say try to stay well for the rest of you but this variant is pretty cunning. Sigh
@WichitaFalls I'm so sorry Covid has found you. It was so kind of you to help your neighbor. I bet he feels terrible that you are sick. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I got mine last November too- by now, 8 months later, I imagine our protection has waned quite a bit. I am still not sure how long the booster is most effective- I have heard weeks to about 4 months, and then it begins to lose its effectiveness
This is what I've heard as well. I had my last booster in April of this year.

Yes, I got COVID a third time even after being vaccinated and boosted. The third time was mild compared to the first two times. It felt like a bad cold and I didn’t have nearly as many symptoms.

No long term side effects from the third infection, but I do have long term effects from the first and second infections. I now have asthma, chronic fatigue, gluten intolerance, possible MCAS, chronic respiratory issues, and I’m more susceptible to respiratory infections now. I was a perfectly healthy 30 year old before contracting COVID.

I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I am sorry you are having such a bad time due to covid, which I maintain is just plain evil.

Yes, very evil.

It’s why I get upset/angry at people who have downplayed the seriousness of this pandemic. I’m still one of a few people at work who still masks up and I very rarely leave my house. I’m mocked for my decisions to mask up but whatever…

I DID attend a concert on the 4th. It wasn’t a small event by any means, either. It was the first large indoor event I have been to since the pandemic started. I was masked the whole time. I don’t regret going, though. I needed that sense of normalcy back.

Very interesting-- more comfortable and yet very secure masks coming soon---- sounds like a great idea to me- masks that you stick on your face and seal---- and are supposedly comfortable---
