I’ve Been Sick For Months But Never Tested Positive For COVID. Here’s What Doctors Tell Me.
I'm a bit worried about you and your DH, not only because of Covid, but also because of the extreme heat you are experiencing. These heat waves are frightening! I hope you both are doing all right.Thank you Anneg. It’s just before 6am here and we’ve been awake a while, he is coughing but said he feels better. Didn’t need his blue inhaler last night for the first time since last week. I’m hopeful he is on the right track.
Other than his asthma, he is healthy. Mid 50s, takes no meds other than inhaler. Anyone debating on vaccines and boosters - this variant is not to be messed with IMO.
We are ok Anneg and thanks so much for thinking of us. He went back to his GP yesterday and now he is testing negative he actually had a face to face appointment! anyway, she checked his chest and said it sounded ok which was my concern. No more steroids for him, just more suggestions on how best to juggle his inhalers for maximum benefit. Signed off work another week (his third now).I'm a bit worried about you and your DH, not only because of Covid, but also because of the extreme heat you are experiencing. He was more comfortable yesterday although this heat is really quite terrible. Last night, bleughhhh! We are coping with blinds, fans and cold drinks but I think it was around 30 degrees in my bedroom when I was awake at 3.30am. All today we do it all again.
I'm glad to hear that your DH got to see his doctor in person and he is better. I hope this heat wave ends for you soon!We are ok Anneg and thanks so much for thinking of us. I remembered your post when I read this report just now. DH and I will get booster #2 this afternoon.I fear you are right: I am hoping they will develop a nasal vaccine but am not hopeful that it will be available anytime soon.
Thank you! It has been painful. I finally tested negative for Covid on Saturday, but I’m still feeling a bit out of sorts. Fatigue, ear pain and my sinuses will not clear. Dizziness and I’m so tired. I feel like my head is underwater. I have one more day left on my steroid pack and a few more days on antibiotics. Two days ago I realized I have lost my sense of smell. I smell nothing. Strangest things ever, but I did read that loss of taste and smell are making a comeback with the BA.5 variant. Stay well!I’m sorry to hear that @Gypsy Road! I have a slightly deviated septum and suffer from frequent sinus infections as a result. Sometimes the sinus pressure will also lead to an accompanying ear infection, and so I feel for you because they really are the worst. I hope you start feeling better soon!!
I am glad I got that booster as BA 5 is spreading all over the country. community casesI remembered your post when I read this report just now. DH and I will get booster #2 this afternoon.

Nasal vaccines may stop Covid infections. Will we get them soon?
Research on nasal vaccines is mostly in its early phases in the U.S., though many scientists believe this twist on vaccination could prove to be an effective way to block infections.www.nbcnews.com
We just returned from Meijer where we got our second boosters. Mine stung a bit, but DH said he didn't feel his. Per phone call yesterday, we didn't need appointments and waited about 15 minutes for processing. Did our due diligence and sat for 15 minutes after the injections. We picked up a few groceries like wine and cheesecakeI am glad I got that booster as BA 5 is spreading all over the country. community cases
In Oakland County have gone from low to medium--I may start masking up again. Let
Us know how things go with you and DH after you get your boosters.
Can you take decongestants?Thank you! It has been painful. I finally tested negative for Covid on Saturday, but I’m still feeling a bit out of sorts. Fatigue, ear pain and my sinuses will not clear. Hi! Yes I can take decongestants, and the doctor told me to take Mucinex Severe Sinus this time so I’ve been taking that during the day, and NyQuil at night. I usually always have a box of the little red original Sudafed laying around - the kind that you have to sign for….as I struggle with sinus issues a lot. You’re right, it usually does the trick! Little red miracle pills. This time it’s so different as nothing seems to be breaking through the sinus pressure. It’s like my nose is filled with cement. I even tried to irrigate it using a neti pot and the salt water would not come out the other nostril. I’ve never had that happen. Can you take decongestants?
I have chronic ear pressure and ringing in my ears. I live on 2 allergy meds, Nasacort, and a prescription nasal spray with cammile added to it. When the pressure is so bad, I add a generic Sudafed. It makes all the difference.
During Feb 2021, I was getting an MRI due to the ear pressure. While there, I fell and broke my femur which required emergency surgery. This happened I week before I was eligible for the vaccine. I did learn that the pressure/ear ringing is caused by a hole in the TMJ disc.
I hope your ear pressure clears up soon.

We did have to wear masks in the pharmacist's office while receiving our shots.
I had a pressure check with my ophthalmologist yesterday. The office Covid protocols have been loosened since my visit in January. Masks are no longer required in the waiting area - only in exam rooms. No more temperatures taken; no more travel forms to fill out. I hope we don't have to return to the strict protocols that we encountered at the peak of the pandemic.
Yep, boosted and happy!!!! take care![]()
COVID-19 booster eligbility expanded
The provincial government has announced that starting July 20, Albertans 18 years of age and older can choose to book appointments for a second booster dose of mRNA vaccine five months or more after receiving their first booster dose. “We know that new variants of the COVID-19 virus will...www.discoverairdrie.com
Starting tomorrow, anyone over 18 can book a second booster in my provinceI’m so happy. With the spread of BA.5 (and the lack of concern about COVID where I live), I’ll be glad to be boosted again!
Will it ease any of my anxiety? Probably not. But I’ll be boosted and happy.
Tinnitus is a Long Covid symptom. Mine comes and goes, fortunately not too often for me. A lot of people in the LC Facebook group experience it.I’ve been wearing a mouth guard for TMJ for 20+ yrs. and having sinus trouble my entire life. I've done allergy tests and shots twice, and 2 sinus surgeries with stents. My E &T said that the hole in the TMJ disc is caused by overuse and clenching. He said that there is surgery but it’s not successful. I also have used steroids mouth when I have a flare up.
I understand that some people can have ringing in the ears as aside effect of Covid.
I also had my second booster in April. I believe we will be eligible for another booster this fall.So I had a nasty little battle with Covid at the end of January. I had my last booster shot in April. So that should wear off this fall and after that, I’m on my own?
