I'm hopeful that this board is our link around the world to know what's happening out there.....Many of us see a full lockdown coming like Italy. MR. Fauci warned us several times this weekend. He is our saving grace and deserves our utmost respect.
It's way too late for the economy and stock market. Too late to stop collapse.
IMOO- that's In my OLD Opinion-
We need to have Martial Law to stop the deniars, It works here in Fl. hurricanes.
You better not be caught out and about without a legitimate purpose. The roads become totally
desolate. Only cops out roaming. It works.
Its coming....The Governors had different posture Sunday after so many ignored the warnings....

Hunkered down with the cats and working from home even more than usual, as all in-person meetings are cancelled for the foreseeable future.
Cooking - might as well do something productive with my free time. And spending a lot more time in the garden, encouraging the fruit and veggies to grow.
One thing I have to change - I need to stop having the news on in the background as I work. Right now, it’s really not good for my mental health.
I think I’ll plant more flowers this year, as soon as the weather cooperates. We used to do a two acre garden, but after my husband died, I stopped that. For unknown reasons watermelon thrive on my land, so I planted 2k plants. Yes, 2k. Everyone would come and take what they wanted & the kinder taker’s helped weed. Everyone misses them when it comes time for festivals & family reunions. I might see if some locals want to do a large garden here.

If not here, there’s google & discussion on every news site.
Same info, same links, do everyone should be getting the word, imo.

Oil and gold/silver are dropping big time this morning.....Cash is king right now.( that also means the ability to pay your credit card bills on time at the moment)......moo

The fact that gold and silver are plummeting is rather surprising to me.

Jersey, they hoped to rescue it, but knew it was unlikely. The only hope we have is for Americans to isolate and break the transmission now. If they don't, it will likely be a full collapse of more than the hospital system.

I am a big believer in self-isolating but until there is a statewide shutdown, I am forced to come to work every day. I can't use 2 weeks of vacation/sick leave for the next 2 weeks, what if I eventually do get sick and need that time?!?

NJ Statewide Curfew

New Jerseyans should not leave their homes from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., as Gov. Phil Murphy announced an extraordinary action of recommending a statewide curfew for his 9 million residents to attempt to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.

All casinos, restaurants, bars, movie theaters and gyms must shut down at 8 p.m.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont announced similar measures for their states.

The virus caused the death of at least two New Jerseyans and infected close to 100 people in the state as of Sunday, according to Depar.

In New Jersey, close to 100 people tested positive for COVID-19 and at least two people died as of Sunday.

“I saw too many videos last night of packed bars, people passing bottles drinking from the same bottle, literally globbed on top of each other,” Murphy said Sunday, after saying he was considering the curfew. “In short of shutting the entire state down, clipping establishments by a number of hours each night in particular we believe will have a meaningful, positive outcome in terms of social distancing.”

Gov. Murphy announces NJ statewide curfew for all residents, businesses must close at 8 p.m.
This is what I’m talking about! Smh.....
My friend was in a sports bar & watched young men coughing at each other. WTH is wrong with people?

That's good advice on every level. I hope, but am not confident that people recognize and choose reliable sources rather than half-baked info.

I believe the only truly reliable source has this to say:

"2 Chronicles 7:14 14if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

File this one under the category of "Alleluia"! The Govs of NY, NJ and CT are COORDINATING ACTIVITIES!!!!!

Coronavirus: NY, NJ, Connecticut coordinate restrictions on restaurants, limit events to fewer than 50 people

Quotes from article:

The governors of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, citing “a lack of federal direction and nationwide standards” announced Monday they have agreed to jointly reduce density throughout the region, closing movie theaters, most restaurants and bars and limiting public gatherings to fewer than 50 people.

The federal government has “been behind from day one on this crisis,” said New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. “States, frankly, don’t have the capacity or the power to make up for the federal government.” He called on U.S. officials to coordinate closings across the country, saying state and local leaders have adopted a “hodge podge” of different actions.

“We have agreed to a common set of rules that will pertain in all of our states, so don’t even think about going to a neighboring state because there’s going to be a different set of conditions,” Cuomo said during a joint media call with fellow Democratic Govs. Ned Lamont of Connecticut and Phil Murphy of New Jersey on the fast-spreading COVID-19 outbreak in the U.S.

Effective by 8 p.m. Monday, the states will prohibit crowds of 50 or more, including private parties; restaurants and bars will need to close, except for takeout or delivery orders; bars, gyms and movie theaters also will need to close, as will nontribal casinos. The rules are in effect “until further notice,” Murphy said.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sunday urged people across the U.S. to cancel or postpone events with 50 or more attendees for the next eight weeks to try to contain the fast-moving coronavirus pandemic.

On Sunday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said he will sign an executive order, set to take effect Tuesday, that effectively closes restaurants, bars and cafes.

Over the weekend, Cuomo announced that New York City’s public school system will begin to shut down this week to help combat the spread of the new virus, which has infected 729 people throughout the state as of Sunday afternoon.

Cuomo has also announced a ban on gatherings of 500 or more people across the state “for the foreseeable future.” He said the state was trying to limit the contagion by reducing “density,” or events where a large number of people gather in a close environment.

Cuomo said Friday that New York was ramping up its testing, having just received federal approval to allow 28 labs in state to begin running coronavirus tests. He said at the time the state should be able to process 6,000 tests a day. The state has been able to run a total of just 3,000 tests, he said Friday.

I am sure they have only released those who were in for non-violent offences and those reaching the end of their sentences. Anything else would be beyond crazy.

I agree..... but there’s a whole lot of “crazy” going on in the world right now IYNWIM

Good morning to you...I'm trying to keep a routine similar to before - exercise, yoga (at home), reading books and watching favorite tv shows.

Also, my son told me that the grandkids' school district, which closed 2 weeks ago over a bombardment of requests from parents, has yet to provide lessons or directions on how to proceed with their education. I am trying to gather sites and lessons to help him provide something for them (3rd grade and 1st grade).
Once a teacher...always a teacher. :)

Also much Facebook, texting and Face Timing with family and friends, especially that grandson in Hoboken.

How about you @Trudie ?
Horses! The weather will soon be nice.
I planned to learn & participate in mounted shooting, but it is a group thing, idk......now.
My house is sterile, my drawers are cleaned & organized, I have my summer wardrobe ready, lol.
Not that I have any events to dress for.
Yes @zecats forever the teacher. Perhaps you can give them French lessons?

This makes me so sad. Those poor children, and any other children who hear parents complaining about more time with them.

96 hour shifts? How is that even humanly possible?

LOL

I like to watch the monologues on YouTube. So disconcerting.

I didn’t get any details, but I’m assuming they’ll have places to “sleep” when needed during the long shift run. But just a guess.

If any of you listened to CNN, they had an atty on discussing how to break contracts or postpone things like weddings. And he briefly discussed the liability one assumes if they host over the max amount & someone contracts Covid. Moo
