I need a lesson - how to amend my profile? Because I thought I’d changed it, but *nope*

Click on your user name and select personal details. Under the “Avatar” box, there’s a box labeled “custom title”

Put your information in there and save changes.

Quick tip: if you have to be out in public like me traveling today. Glove one hand. Use that hand to touch things the public has. Use your other non gloved hand to touch your things, your door handles, your keys, your phone etc. then once you are back in your vehicle, appropriately remove the glove and dispose. Sanitize to be sure. Considered Lysoling the pump but I’m saving it for my hotel room. Lots of people on the road. Figure they are driving instead of flying. One more stop before the hotel. My boss still thinks it’s way overblown and people are just trying to get out of work and all of it just makes him mad so yeah..my schedule won’t change.

Calm in our house but panic in our state. If you any of you have time, many museums around the world let you visit virtually. A very cool experience and it meets my academic requirements for my teens.
I'm glad to hear things are good at home. Thanks for the tip about museums! I had no idea virtual visits were available! I'll have to check that out!

The haphazard state, county, city closings are IMO ridiculous. IMO the federal government needs to step up and close.

I would prefer Governor Cuomo be enabled to handle the US preventative steps as a whole, not just NY State

I'm not that impressed with the "Federal Government" at this point

The first trial of a potential coronavirus vaccine just started in Washington state. It will take at least a year to know if the vaccine works.

Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, San Diego, CA (formerly the Navy's Top Gun school if you remember the movie) - they received 2 flights of evacuees from Wuhan as well as 100s from the Grand Princess cruise ship:

@MCASMiramarCA has raised its HPCON level to Bravo due to the continued COVID-19 outbreak. Several changes to operations designed to maximize health safety protocols are now in effect. More changes can be expected based on the situation. Stay healthy Marines. pic.twitter.com/Up8fCQUd4w

One of our younger folk came into work. I was stunned when she claimed a pandemic was predicted in so and so's book. You know those people we are not suppose to talk about here. She then stated this certain female says it will be gone by spring when the warm weather comes. I told her you are the people I worry about. You are educated! Educate yourself on this virus!!!! I'm still stunned.

In regards to "predictions" remember: Even a broken clock is right twice a day. IMO

Johnson says everyone is now being urged to avoid non-essential contact with others
Boris Johnson is speaking now.

He says we need to go further.

  • Johnson says it looks as though we are approaching the “fast growth” phase of the curve. That means cases are expected to double every five days.
  • Families are being urged to stay at home for 14 days if any member of the household is ill, Johnson says.
  • He says it is time for everyone to stop non-essential contact with others. That means people should work from home where possible and avoid pubs, clubs and theatres.
Johnson says the advice on people avoiding non-essential contact is particularly important for people who are over-70, for people who are pregnant and for people with underlying health conditiions.

Yes, I believe schools will be closed for the rest of the year.

This is not going away in 2 weeks or a month, at least not at the rate we are going.

That is going to be a problem. School is such a wonderful, normalizing experience. Children settle down, and love the routines. School is so important, and having routines is part of helping stressed out kids relax. I saw that after Hurricane Katrina.

People are stressed, money is going to be a problem, and folks can't even get rid of their kids.

I see some major domestic violence issues coming up.

I just told her I choose to believe the Science and you are putting me at risk. She is a firm believer in palm readers etc. I wish we still had the head banging icon.

Baking and dropping off goodies for the kids and grandkids. We are doing this by driving in the car and leaving the goods on the front porch. No touching of anything. Not even a railing or doorbell.
YUM! Wish you delivered near me!

Good on you Greg.

I think UK is being very conservative, but the Italian and now Spanish, numbers are very convincing.
