Chile: tonight at midnight all entry to the country by land, air and sea is shut down to foreigners. Armed forces at the borders to enforce. Fines and jail sentences may be imposed. Only Chilean citizens and foreign legal residents can enter, but they have to undergo a 14- day quarantine. This closure does not affect freight which is needed to provide goods for the country, and does last 14 days to start out with.

Yeah, why wait until Monday?

Especially with a high population of retirees. Well, those kids can say goodbye to their grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents. Sorry, that was probably insensitive. I can’t get those images out of my head. It makes my blood boil.

I cancelled my birthday two weeks ago due to the fact that we didn’t know if we had been exposed through a school with one of the first cases. I’ve been doing social distancing since. However, I’ve been following this story with you guys since it broke and understood the severity. I just don’t think ignorance can be an excuse at this point. Everyone knows now.

Coronavirus: What you need to know

Dr. Jen Ashton, ABC News' chief medical correspondent, discusses what you need to know about coronavirus testing, hospitals, and cleaning surfaces.

How long the virus can live on different surfaces? In the Air? (Video 2:09)

"Eventually we will be able to move to blood test to see if you have been exposed, so that is one of the big areas today."

I didn't go to the funeral of a dear friend Monday night, because I knew it meant 200 very very sad people hugging and consoling each other, with lots of tears. It kind of broke my heart, but I was so afraid to go.

I'm so very sorry about your friend. You did the right thing. Your dear friend knows that.

I know in the "big picture" this isn't important, but I have a sad young man in my house tonight as he just learned that his high school production of "The Wizard of Oz" has been cancelled. He had been cast as the Cowardly Lion.

This comes on the heels of his state competition being cancelled in which he had received 3 superiors at the district level and was to compete at states in all 3 areas: solo vocals, duet vocals, and duet acting.

He understands that other people are experiencing losses much more significant and he understands that the world is in turmoil, so he is keeping perspective, but in his personal world, this makes him sad. And as his mom, it makes me sad for him.

OMG that would make you sick as a dog to drink that...
We had a young guy in drug court that ingested mint rubbing alcohol by the bottle many X daily. It was inexpensive and got him the high he craved. He died at 25.

So, why doesn't the Governor of TX take a stand?

Following in the footsteps of Austin, Houston and Dallas, San Antonio officials ordered that, effective midnight Wednesday night, dine-in services at restaurants will be suspended; additionally, others "non-essential" businesses such as bars, lounges, nightclubs, taverns, indoor commercial amusements businesses, theaters, gyms, bingo parlors, bowling alleys must close. Schools closed.

MISSISSIPPI

34 cases of coronavirus identified by Miss. Dept. of Health
The number of presumed positive coronavirus cases in Mississippi is now at 34.

13 new cases were reported Wednesday morning, with Madison County seeing their first case.

[...]

9 new cases were reported Tuesday morning, with four in Hinds County, three in Leflore County, one in Jackson County and one in Harrison County.

The first case was reported last Wednesday by an adult man in Forrest County.

[...]

Monday morning, two more cases were reported in Monroe and Pearl River counties.

As of Tuesday morning, 389 people in Mississippi have been tested.

So many casinos in Mississippi I wonder how many cases they will actually end up with. Tunica is not far from Memphis, Kentuckians visit Tunica on a regular basis to visit the casinos. There really is nothing else to do in Tunica.

Almost all our family members are in Clark County. We're 3 miles outside the county line. My temp is up to 100.6 today and still feels like a cold. No shortness of breath. Haven't been able to snuggle up with my husband for 6 days. Every morning I make the bed and put the pillows to the very edge but the next morning they're against each other again.
Pleeeaaasse be sure to investigate. I'm not remembering many of my colds that were accompanied by fever. Not to say it's impossible.

If you can get tested, maybe think about it. I'm hoping big big time that you feel better! XO

Each of us has our own losses, and his is completely legitimate. I'm sorry for him.

The diocese of Fort Worth just canceled public Masses. We were one of the last big city holdouts. I understand the need, but I've been crying about it all day.

Looks like US is on track to hit 10,000 confirmed cases by tomorrow. Watching CNN and it says “More than 8,693 cases, 149 deaths”.

How frightening is it to hear the symptoms. Erin Burnette had an OH woman on that described horrible symptoms. Her other guest had the slightest cough, but only for a day or two. He was tested upon returning from Spain because he’s a minister of a very large congregation. I heard another woman say her only symptom was a minor sore throat, and another describe a near death symptom.

Sorry for your dear friend. We just had a young high school boy die in a car accident over the weekend. He comes from a large family and our #* governor has said no gatherings over 10, including funerals. Plus all his friends from school. What have we come to when we can't even hold a funeral to say goodbye? And I don't suppose the funeral home will lower their price on funerals, even though they're not actually doing that much. Oh but they told the family they could arrange with them ($$$) for a memorial service later. So disgusted with my state of Nebraska.

MOO
