Just heard that the President is making available immediately anti malaria drugs. It may not work. But he's hopeful it does.

Who is our member that has been taking this?
I used to take it and have a bottle on hand that I’m allowed to restart at any time.

Oh my. My husband just informed me that he is now the Mentor for getting the rest of teachers online classroom working.... he owes me big time!
Oh boy, what a challenging task he has in front of him.
I was wondering if classes are held at a specific time? Our school district might accept assignments w/o the student participating in a group class? Hmmmmm
Otherwise, how are so many out & about spreading the virus.

MICHIGAN

Oakland County coronavirus cases skyrocket to 94
The Oakland County's health department says they have confirmed 94 cases now of the coronavirus Covid-19, the county's Media and Communications Officer Bill Mullen said Thursday.

The number is staggeringly higher than the most recently reported case total from the state, showing only 23 cases of Covid-19 in Oakland County. Mullen said their count of 94 is accurate as of 9 a.m. Thursday.

Michigan health officials said the state's total coronavirus case eclipsed 100 during a press conference Wednesday with Gov. Whitmer. While the state health department quantified 15 new cases by midnight Tuesday, Chief Medical Director Dr. Joneigh Khaldun said they had confirmed 30 more cases, bringing the state total up to 110. But now it appears the number is even higher than that.

Good morning, everyone. I am a good thread behind. First, I want to thank the well wishers and kind words from several threads ago about my nana; I really appreciate them. *insert heart emoji here*

I had my infusion yesterday at the hospital, not a place I was excited to go, but I had to go nonetheless. I thought I'd share my experience. Thankfully, I initially was the only patient receiving an infusion but they did have the chairs spaced further apart than normal. While I was there I overheard them talking about supplies. They only had 3 boxes left of sanitizing wipes for the hospital. I don't have any idea when their next shipment was due to come in but one of the nurses asked what they were going to do. The only reply I heard was "I don't know." During my stay two cancer patients came in for their chemo and we were all spaced appropriately apart. I overhead them tell both patients that due to the mask shortage they were going back to having the patient turn their head away while accessing their port. Such dire times.

All JMO and my experience yesterday.

Now I'm going to try to catch up.

He is a great student! He picked up what I taught him readily! It depends on school system what theye are requiring, do the kids have internet access, grade and subject. All the kids here have district provided chrome books. My husband teaches AP Calc as well as remedial. He has set times for each subject online. They have homework and self directed as well. His SPEd kids are getting more time with him . Much of this is his choice. He was Teacher of the Year multiple times. They are his responsibility and he takes it seriously. He earned that title. He is fun and uses crazy methods too. The kids love him

Tonight, I’m asking our Gov’ if he sees stricter enforcement
On his “stay home” policy.
Also, consider this everyone:

So what are examples of wanton endangerment? Any behavior that involves being aware of a substantial risk to another for which there is no justifiable reason to engage in it will qualify. A Kentucky appeals court has, for example, upheld as first-degree wanton endangerment the act of a person with HIV having unprotected sex with a partner who does not know of his condition.

Will it come to this? Will we need to call 911 when we see carloads of germ carrying children arrive at our local grocery? There is no dif’,imo.

Bulk Buys and Distancing: How Dispensaries Deal With COVID-19

“"Gonna have to stop you right there, man. We're practicing social distancing today."”

[...]

“"Some places are just letting people in, as if it were a free-for-all at a grocery store. Here, it's just one person inside at a time," he says. "We're seeing, like, 40 percent less people, but they're spending around 50 percent more money."”

[...]

"”I can tell you we had constantly higher traffic in the stores, to the point where waiting rooms were full most of the time. For a time that is in between holidays, that's pretty unusual," says Peter Marcus, communications director for Terrapin Care Station. "People are probably thinking ahead."”

[...]

“But there's a limit to how much dispensary shoppers can panic-buy per day: one ounce of marijuana or eight grams of concentrate, or edibles containing no more than 800 milligrams of THC.

"Our sales are booming," explains Chuck Blackton, owner of Verde dispensaries in Boulder and Denver, as well as a wholesale marijuana cultivation. "We're not running out, but we're just slammed."

Dispensaries should have enough flower to make it through summer, according to store representatives, although several edibles vendors have been reporting shorter supplies, Andrle notes.

But as other Colorado businesses are required to close, people wonder whether dispensaries will be able to remain open...which leads to more bulk buying.”
Show-off........j/k

Dunno. What are we offering as an alternative so those kids aren't left home alone?

Two generic drugs being tested in U.S. in race to find coronavirus treatments Two generic drugs being tested in U.S. in race to find coronavirus treatments Reuters on Twitter

But a 1,500-person trial, led by the University of Minnesota, began this week to see whether malaria treatment hydroxychloroquine can prevent or reduce the severity of COVID-19. Two other trials are studying the blood pressure drug losartan as a possible treatment for the disease.
And here's an article from March 13 that suggests those of us who take losartan are at greater risk of getting sick.

Medicine taken by millions could increase the risk of catching coronavirus, scientists warn
