Ah, the youth. They are the most resilient. Those young people, the majority, are absolutely the FINEST anyone could ask for. They are intelligent, aware, capable, adaptable, and savvy in so many ways.

NEVER discount their abilities.

This global crisis will likely create the next 'greatest' generation.

I will not personally allow the few who are a bit wayward discolor the majority of our young generation.

Any that need support are free to PM me on here, I worked in U.S. public high school for 20 years, and in a residential treatment facility prior to that. I believe in our youth, 100%.

MOO, a person can be part of the problem in this crisis, or part of the solution. Which will YOU choose?

I wish that people I know shared your enthusiasm. Oh my.

I've worked in a public university for 40 years. And in some high schools. And in some private schools. First started teaching 45 years ago.

They are very sweet, but very uneducated and naive. I do not believe our youth are prepared for actual responsibility. They are very cute though.

Oh, so now I'm part of the group called "The Olds"! I resent that.
Yeah, I've been around the block. Me! It's those youngsters going to the beach not taking it serious.

The frustration millennials have with older people not taking coronavirus precautions seriously
"They're older and they've been through a few things before," Dr. Gregory Jantz, a Seattle-based psychologist and mental health expert …"
Indeed. The group called: The Olds. I am one of them. As a kid, I criticized or made jest of old folks. My Dad often said: "You will be old one day too, girl". Carp those words always stuck with me. He was right and dang, here I am.

We live in San Diego, love these out door concerts on the bay. you have the city lit up behind you, with boats going by beside you, and a band in front of you. We usually take a bicycle buggy cab to and from the concert. It's fun and romantic.

Two people from the concert tested positive. They could've infected some other college students we kicked out of their dorms yesterday and sent home to various areas. Hard to get the word out now.

Crssd Festival: 2 people test positive for coronavirus

"SAN DIEGO — On March 7 and 8, the Crssd Music Festival welcomed thousands for an electronic music concert at Waterfront Park, despite worldwide concerns over COVID-19. On Thursday, March 19, organizers confirmed that two people that attended the festival have tested positive for coronavirus."

Look on your county website for a spraying or dusting schedule. It could be for mosquitoes, or some other necessary spray, to reduce transmission of disease. Think Zika Virus. If you can’t find anything, look up crop dusting permits, if they’re online. I would call your county to inquire. Keep the windows closed and air circulation off for an hour. JMO

Yeah I’m not excited about the Covid spraying situation that’s likely to start happening, but as we talked about “back then”, “lesser of the two evils”. It has to happen I suppose. (R..grrrr)

@JerseyGirl do you remember that spraying video you posted back in the day?

I believe you said “more spraying”

Lemme see if i can find it, I marked some spraying guns images for reference too

Eta hands r numb

There’s so much important information and reference in the early threads (hand r numb can’t type)

Study study bc it’s coming our way. Never mind it has arrived

:spaceship:
(That was a cool old emoji too @dixiegirl1035)

Anyway yeah I’m a treehugger anti chemical kind of person. Not looking fwd to the onslaught of chemical fumes coming r way but hey lesser of the two evils, doesn’t matter if you’re in lockdown I suppose.

How’s it going up there? Are you sheltered in place? It seems like so long ago we were worried about our yoga classes...;)

Gosh, yeah, going to yoga seems like a looong time ago doesn’t it....

My, what changes a couple of weeks has brought.

Doing ok over here. I’m kind of tired of sheltering in place though ;) Ha- day #3.

I’m trying to come up with some semblance of a daily schedule for me and the kids (hubby thankfully still has a job, something we don’t take for granted). But it’s been hard to find any normalcy without clear lesson plans from school and the lack of social contact.

I’ve been taking some online/video conference yoga classes that my studio has started offering. Nothing like being there in person but at least it’s something. Walking outside everyday at least for a bit. Trying to feed a household but we go through groceries super fast- I’m finding my pandemic stash in the garage is not that big and I hate to actually USE it because then I know I won’t have it anymore!

I think it will eventually hit me that this is our reality. I’m still not sure it has.

Snipped.

WHO IS PREPARED for this situation?

Rhetorical question, btw.

I have a couple of "cute" college students whose world has been turned upside

One is my daughter’s friend. She has been sick with a fever and dry cough for 9 days but no one would listen to her or test her until she went in to the hospital in respiratory distress. She is only 27 years old and was in excellent health. Has pneumonia now. :(

Pneumonia, only 27 yrs. old!
Oh no, that's serious! I hope she will respond to treatment and recover quickly. She suffered a long time with that dry cough. No one took it serious enough. Where did she pick up the virus?

It's important to tell the public that younger people are getting it because it's misleading to think they are immune. It seems the 30-50 yr. old age group has more cases in my city than the older group now. Avoiding large groups helps. So relieved they've canceled concerts and closed casinos and even crowded party beaches should be closed . It's absolutely necessary.

We are a bit in our groove now. Work is still going so we go in daily, then straight home. We bring our lunches with us. Other than the 3 other guys at work we have no other social interaction and they are all locked down except the lab as well. Going to bring my puppy to doggy day care but she’s serious about protecting her people and the public from the virus. One outside person at a time in the building, hand sanitizer between customers, so one more person on daily interaction.
Using the outside pay at pump with the one glove to protect ourselves there. Theoretically should only interact with 5 people on a daily basis if my boss shows up. I’m torn on the feed store for the weekend. It’s never busy, 8 people total I’ve seen in the store at any one time. I’d love to keep my feed/hay replenished as long as I can but I don’t want to risk exposure.

maybe we'll still wise up and let people out of their houses in rotation.
would you like to see this in your area?
I would & a lot of my acquaintances are all for rotational outings.

I have to pay to have my yard sprayed for mosquitoes. They are awful! I'll check and see, but there is no reason to be spraying anything around here. Other than the Army Coros of Engineers announced that they were not opening campsites around the lake and canceled all reservations.

This is how close I am to the lake. The campgrounds are about 4 miles from me.

Yeah I think this is the longest I’ve gone without eating since my dog died

Just sayin

Big time loss of appetite going on over here, which says a lot for me bc I love me some food (as most of us do).

Well this is one writers opinion , and what he thinks is the reason people are hoarding tp - apparently we're biologically programmed to hoard - like birds and squirrels.

There's plenty of toilet paper in the US – so why are people hoarding it?
I have been hunting toilet paper for over a week and there is none to be found in my area. NONE. I'm down to three rolls and have absolutely no clue on what I'm going to do after those rolls are gone. I don't understand why there is no toilet paper being shipped and stocked in the stores. Puzzling.

Troubled youth were my specialty :) Born out of this crisis will be the likes of innovation, leadership, networks, advances in medicine, and a whole HUGE list of things we cannot at the moment conceive.

Our youth are watching. They are watching closely.

I often say that we should not be so concerned that young people are doing what we ask, rather, that they are watching what we do.

They will persevere.

We are globally challenged with a pandemic. It is a terrible thing, I admit. However, we must move forward with steady resolve to solve that with which we are confronted.

For me, I will choose to attempt to be part of the solution moving forward.

MOO

The young man who died today in Los Angeles, California had returned home from Florida after visiting Disney World, before developing symptoms.
Where can I find this information?
