Porch pirates won’t care, lol.
Got ring doorbell and a fake snake out there.
(They will be disappointed since it’s Depends)

Well, OK, but extreme.

There was a link yesterday about the red eyes. A nursing home was full of people with a red shadow on their eyes, not red eyes. They were all in good shape. By nightfall, all hel! broke loose.

I think we were really really lucky to have discovered our NBA players had tested positive. It immediately shut down ALL NBA games and ALL of the College Championships.

It was sad and shocking, believe me---I am a long time Laker fan and we were in 1st, looking for a trophy this year. :(

But it was a god-send to have all of those crowded arenas shutdown like that. I bet thousands and thousands would have been infected at those games.

Those NBA stars gave autographs and high fives to fans after each game. They criss crossed the country, going from city to city, eating in restaurants, shaking hands, taking selfies with the locals.

It is a miracle the way they shut that down, imo.

I have been washing my hands constantly, perhaps it’s the soap - but now I have very dry patches on my knuckles and cracks starting. I’m hoping my mom has some cotton gloves somewhere in the house.
Anyone got any suggestions?
My hands were drying out too, and I have started applying moisturizer regularly throughout the day.

A couple months ago I bought white cotton gloves @ Amazon, cheap, I think there is 10 in a pack. I use them to clean the crystals on some chandeliers. But I suppose you could also try to wear them after putting on hand cream, Vaseline. My husband gets the worst red, irritated dry hands. I highly recommend the Aveeno Eczema Therapy line.

Try caster oil. A friend has an unknown dermatitis Rx. He gave up on creams. I looked on line, researched it, he started using it and voila! Clearing with consistent use. Consistent is the key word here.

Pharmacies used to carry white gloves regularly. Now, it’s rare and you will occasionally find them on an end cap somewhere. They are a necessity for people with eczema.

Experts call for stool tests as faecal transmission of Covid-19 confirmed
  • Some respiratory system specimens tested negative for Covid-19 but coronavirus was detected in faecal samples from all 14 patients in study
Yeah we Discussed this a few Xs. I have not found these are recommended at drive up test sites.
As I posted several Xs we have had multiple hep’ cases the last couple of years in KY,
resulting in restaurant closures. If your linked study is accurate, idk how this will ever end. Moo. One link about hep’ cases: more available by searching:

Oh Hells Bells. Another damn thing for my symptoms list.

Isn't it a lot simpler to test fecal samples than sputum? Does anyone know how that works?

Eta I mean process the sample.

I got the impression that loss of sense of smell and taste, and a red shadow on the eyes, is early signs that something is going seriously wrong.

Quoting myself, think maybe Mississippi should tighten up? They do border Louisiana, correct? (Geography is not my strong point). Maybe he thinks if Louisiana cases spread, which is likely, they will go the other way?

He needs to step up and there is no excuse at this point. MS is directly north right along the Mississippi River which has cruise boats up and down. I do not understand why the CDC did not flag and require disinfectant of every airplane that flew in or out of China after the first case was detected.

I don't believe it is a coincidence that the hot beds in the U.S. are also popular tourist/convention destinations and also ports for cruise ships. From the beginning, it has hit hardest those who have traveled.

If any airline or cruise line is helped by the bailout, there should be a requirement for them to take the fleet out of service until they are decontaminated. My brother is still working because airlines are considered essential. I pretty sure none of those jets have been cleaned. He said his operations center hasn't been cleaned and those folks work in very close proximity to each other. He can't wear a mask because he has to clearly speak with the pilots.

I agree it likely won’t. But whether it does or not, the blame for this virus doesn’t rest on his shoulders. No one is really discussing where this virus came from and how it has affected the whole world at once. This is bigger than any one person could have planned or imagined.
Except they did. There were outlined plans in place for a pandemic. Every country seemed to have a pandemic plan in place. IIRC those plans along with the trajectories for each country was posted online. In fact this stimulus package is not new. Each country adopted an income plan for residents should a complete shelter in place happen

sorry for the repeat but it seems incredible that fecal samples were 100% diagnostic when some of the same patients tested negative with swabs. Yeah I know n=14 but this seems like a testing breakthru.

Sorry if this is not allowed but I just needed to reach out. I have been granted the opportunity to work from home. This is truly a prayer that has been answered. My boyfriend has been living with me for about 3 years now. He does not want to stay quarantined. Last week I pleaded with him not to go to a friend's house to hangout. Well he did. I have a weakened immune system since I have had many times gotten very sick with bronchitis. Asking for prayers that he will listen to me. He left today again to run an errand. It has been over 6 hours. I know he is out drinking. Again sorry if this is not allowed. I just needed to tell someone.

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. Didn’t you post on an earlier thread that he was not helping you protect your immune system? He has shown you who is and it’s not a responsible, loving boyfriend. Prayers alone won’t help if you don’t help yourself IMO. Now it’s your job to protect yourself. We are all isolating ourselves from loved ones so we don’t get sick or make them sick. It sounds like it may be time for you to make a hard decision to protect yourself, since he won’t. I know it’s hard, but you are worth it, right? :)

Does he have a sleeping bag? I'd roll it out to the front stoop and deadlock the front door. ;)

Not trying to be funny. I am being serious. He needs a wake up call. He can get himself sick, that's up to him. But he is bringing danger to your doorstep now too.

Agreed, @katydid23. I’m angry on behalf of @Bellecent, so I probably wouldn’t stop with the sleeping bag! I would love to put everything he owns on the front porch. This would be a total dealbreaker for me. It’s not like they’re married for decades and have lots to untangle, except emotions...but I do know that’s a big deal, so I sympathize with @Bellecent. We’ve talked for many threads about friends and loved ones who won’t take this seriously. They aren’t allowed to enter our homes.

No, but I think the fecal is easier to gather than the sputum.

Absolutely. Plus, look how many gathered for Kobe’s memorial at Staples Center, at end of February.

This needs to be bumped over and over. Never heard this until now. Thank You for the heads up.
Everyone needs to spread the word, but not the virus. ;)

Care home nurse tells of terrifying and sudden ways coronavirus struck her patients

(CNN) -- "The veteran registered nurse started her own mental checklist: cough, rapid breathing and the red eyes -- all the sickest patients seemed to have the red eyes."

"For Chelsey Earnest it was the eyes that became the single most important sign as she and other staff at the Life Care Center in Kirkland, Washington, struggled with the new coronavirus that was sweeping the nursing home even before it became feared across the country."

"It's something that I witnessed in all of them (the patients). They have, like... :oops:allergy eyes. The white part of the eye is not red. It's more like they have red eye shadow on the outside of their eyes," Earnest said."

Red and BBM

Well, OK, but extreme.

This Covid-19 virus is extreme.
The nurse's report recounting what she saw in that nursing home is extreme.
Just want everyone to remember the not-often mentioned
 RED EYES.

I appreciate every single health care worker so much right now. There's truckers, grocery store clerks, just so many people working that need a Thank You and our Prayers.
