FWIW, I wear regular rubber gloves- remove and put in a tray in the car- hand sanitize, and when I go home, wash my hands and the rubber gloves and the tray. You do have to be careful not to contaminate the inside of the gloves, but you make less trash. There was an article pleading with people not to leave disposable gloves and masks all over. I have seen some that do not make it to the trash can and then I imagine no one wants to pick them up.
Morning everyone!
I saw on the news this morning that some are using hand sanitizer all over the outside of their gloves then they let them dry well before storing them to be used again.
I'm sure there are many trying to think of ways to possibly reuse items that are in short supply now.
I finally was able to order two large cans of Lysol from Amazon, but no telling when I will receive them. I couldn't find any Clorox wipes on Amazon so I made my own by using the same empty container of Clorox wipes I already had.
Also the product Odoban disinfects as well, and a gallon will last a long time because its diluted with a mixture of Odoban and water. It also has a very pleasant smell. I already had 2 gallons because each spring I wash all of our inside walls down with it. It can be used to disinfect floor surfaces too.
Since I'm known as a clean freak anyway constantly cleaning now comes natural for me. I clean my hardwoods, and tile almost every day, and every day in high traffic areas. Plus we are taking our shoes off outside if we have had to go anywhere in public. I believe the soles of our shoes could certainly have the virus, and especially if they have deep ridges in the tread of the soles where the virus could be trapped.
Imo, there isnt any such thing as too much cleaning or too much protection.
One of our good friends called yesterday to tell us one of his neighbors contracted the virus, and then his daughter contracted it trying to take care of her father. He passed away this past Monday, and his daughter died from it the next day.
Please be safe everyone. It's going to get much worse before it gets better. Its more important to follow what the experts recommends than ever before. Please stay home unless its unavoidable.
I think it will shortly be recommended that anyone who has masks to wear them. Those who have enough for personal use, and not large quantities that are needed by healthcare workers. It certainly cant hurt to stem the spread. Remember to not touch the mask, and only use the ear piece to remove them.
I think we all have learned we must NOT touch our face with our hands even though we do so countless times a day without thinking anything about it. We must change our normal habits.
Praying for our nation, and all of our citizens. More than anything I pray that each one of us does everything humanely possible to protect ourselves, and if all does this it will protect all others which should be everyone's goal.
