This is my state and I’m so upset. I hope they go for the congregation too. Many are bussed in for services.

And, contrary to Canada, IIRC, in the USA we have to pay our medicare and gap insurance from SS checks, if that is all a person gets. That's roughly $300 for medicare part B and a very minimum gap insurance. So, if you are a woman who gets the average <$1,200 SS check, you start the month with only $900. And that doesn't include part D medicare (drugs), and does not include dental care and eye glasses (refraction). Then, there is a yearly fee of over $100 (IIRC = $135 annual charge) just to start seeing a doctor, and co-pays and drug costs depending on your health.
Then, going back to this person making the average woman's monthly SS of 1,200, there is rent unless that person is lucky enough to own a house or live with relatives. If she does own a house, she pays property taxes and all the rest. Whether or not she rents or owns, there is electricity, heating, internet and phone charges. Doe that person deserve to eat, and to have a pet? Does she deserve to pay for transportation ie bus or subway? Or should she just stay at home and be happy if is heating in the house through the winter.
I get a little peeved at the people who think a person can live on the average SS payment, a fund those seniors paid into for decades.
And who are begrudging a one time stimulus check of 1,200 to these seniors.
Ok so this is crazy. I have developed a dry cough.Nothing else. I never get coughs and do not have allergy issues typically.
No other symptoms at all and trust me I am looking.
I get groceries delivered no contact. We have not been out for 14 days and that was to pick up a grocery order. I did have to sign a paper that time. It was outside.
I know you are not docs so I am just venting here.
Do you know if kids are on his buses? This is my state and I’m so upset. I hope they go for the congregation too. Many are bussed in for services.
Cruise ship passengers desperately plead with Florida to allow them inSelfish people! Ask any RN or medical person about how they feel when people are out enjoying themselves on needless flying, trips and so on.
It really is incredible, isn’t it. Every so often, a figure like that comes up and it’s so hard to believe the numbers involved.
I was thinking about your Mum, Greg, and how fortunate her surgery happened when it did. I hope she is doing well.
Apparently none of them have any common sense.Do you know if kids are on his buses?
Smh.....wth is wrong with his parishioners, are they brainwashed?

@oceanblueeyes when we have prevalent equine viruses in the area, we put foot baths in the barns, one at each door. Mandatory anyone entering or exiting sanitize their soles. We use bleach/water in a shallow feed pan. I have one on my porch, After I’m in a store, I disinfectant, leaving shoes outside. Exercise caution if leaving footwear outdoors. A friend had around recluse in his boot last year, he nearly died & ended up losing 2 toes. Also, my dog isn’t interested in drinking bleach water, but some might.
Yes, let them set sail on a Corona Cruise liner.Apparently none of them have any common sense.
He, along with all his parishioners who are attending should all be locked up, together, in one room until this is over.
If it's togetherness they want, let them have it, locked up and quarantined somewhere far away. LOL
Several years ago I developed a dry cough with no other symptoms. A dear friend had recently died of lung cancer so I was understandably spooked. Doc rx'd an inhaler which did nothing, then at my request gave me a tb test and a chest xray to rule out the scary stuff. Nothing found there to explain the cough.
Finally it went away after a course of omeprazole (Prilosec). Apparently the cough was an odd symptom of my reflux...
I think very poor seniors, and those that don't even qualify for SS can get medicaid/food stamps in some states, sometimes in effect earning more than a monthly SS check because they don't pay (some/all, not sure) of their own health expenses. To get SS people need to have worked 40 quarters, with an employer who took out FICA, payroll deductions, and women overall get less SS because they took time out for raising kids and worked at low paying jobs, or part time.I don’t think anyone is peeved or begrudging seniors getting stimulus. Some laid off will draw an extra $600 weekly from the federal UI program, in some cases tripling or quadrupling their monthly income.
I think some of us were/are curious because we didn’t pay attention to the stimulus package if it did not pertain to us.
Had this not happened, how would SS recips’ get by? Is the $1200 even enough for them? It is a rather paltry sum.
Especially when a fast food employee that previously had net pay of $350 per week might now have $800 due to the enhanced UI.
Huntsville Hospital cutting jobs, says focused on retaining clinical personnel, trimming losses
I never thought of nurses getting laid-off at a time like this.
These "Churches" can barely be called churches, IMO. They're more concerned about collecting money each week than the health and safety of their parishioners. Our Catholic diocese suspended mass in early March and encouraged people to watch on TV or streaming online. You're not going to have much of a flock if you let them all die from the plague.
