My dog is completely deaf, she had no idea they were here, lol. I’m thinking of a youngster but not 100% convinced. However, since I plan to stay home, I guess now is a good time for a new addition to my menagerie. Sounds like round two will come this fall.
You need a large 100-pound German Shepherd over the age of 5 to be with you constantly. Please!

If you're collecting social security and haven't filed a tax return you will receive no relief money.

The information was reversed tonight

Social Security recipients who don’t usually file tax returns will automatically get $1,200 payments, Treasury says in reversal

The Treasury announced late Wednesday that Social Security beneficiaries who typically do not file a tax return will automatically get the $1,200 payment.

The announcement is a reversal from earlier in the week when the Internal Revenue Service said everyone would need to file some sort of tax return in order to qualify for the payments. Democrats and some Republicans criticized the IRS for requiring so many extra hurdles for this vulnerable population to get aid when the government already has their information on file.

The reversal came as the Trump administration tries to rapidly get stimulus payments out to Americans in the face of the quickest economic decline in modern history.

“Social Security recipients who are not typically required to file a tax return need to take no action, and will receive their payment directly to their bank account,” said Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin.

Criticism poured in after the IRS posted a notice on its website on Monday instructing Social Security recipients who do not normally send in a return to file a “simple” tax return, which would be available soon.

And as soon as people are allowed to go out and think it's over, I'm going to be one of the people who starts buying all the disinfectant spray, disinfectant wipes and TOILET PAPER!:D

Do you believe the rent strike participants will do the honorable thing and pay their landlords with the $1200?
Of course not! They’ve formed a united front, almost as if they blame their landlord for this. It’d be interesting to know how many already faced eviction for non payment. Landlords are in a tough situation. Ultimately they will have legal fees, turn over fees, occupancy loss, advertising costs, etc. Not every biz owner will qualify for the loan packages. Moo

I hear ya. With jail cell doors wide open, we need to be on our toes. So much uncertainty.

Wear a mask & sanitize you’re hands!
Hopefully the stores will soon catch up with the items you mention. I noticed a lot of traffic today, headed towards the grocery. I guess because it is 04/01.

We had to file for 2018, in 2019, correct? Not for 2019 taxes in 2020? Because this years taxes dont have to be filed until July.

I thought of this today and how they were just shutting down parks and playgrounds. Those would be the last places I would take my children with all the germs plus the criminals walking around!!

The way I understand it, if you've already filed this year they will use the 2019 year. But if not, last year's 2018 filing will be used.

It sounds like the issue with SS people and others is that they did not file taxes in 2018, so in order to receive the surplus cheque, people have to file taxes for 2018.

2019 taxes is not yet due anywhere, and it would be absurd to offer relief money to people and then tell them it might take 6 weeks.

I’m surprised we haven’t heard of any missing kids, I bet a lot are running around unsupervised. Pedophiles know school is not in session. Our playgrounds closed a couple weeks ago. Too many conflicts. If Jane Doe arrived early to let her children play, it turned into “if her kids can, mine can too.” We had daily earnings from the gov’ that the end result would be closures, but no one listened.

Desperate times could be coming and maybe desperate people. Never say never. We just don't know the future.

Rsbm If it was only about purchasing essentials, government could have issued mass EBT food & sundries cards for $1200 - but they did not.

This would have been a good additional idea, imo. Make sure everyone has food and sundries.
