wow... quarantine just seems sooo scary though..waiting.waiting.waiting. Did you get any test?
I have to say I didn't panic, I was concerned. Husband and I followed all set out by our Health Unit. I was at one end of the house and he the other. No test. I was instructed to self monitor including daily temps. If any symptoms I was to call the health Unit and they would arrange for testing. Ont. has been lagging in testing due to shortages. I think things are ramping up now tho. I was incredibly careful long before anyone I know. Thanks to the info here. My exposure was to the 5 of 9 cases in my City. Yet I know the number 9 is far more than that. Be safe everyone. Going out for a walk today in the neighbourhood YEAH!!!

Just think of how much face touching would have been prevented if we were instructed to wear masks in public.. Would have saved us from ourselves! :mad::mad::mad:
:mad:

...:mad::mad: right with ya.
Primarily we are to avoid touching mucous membranes, correct? Pushing our hair back or touching forehead or cheek is not a problem?

Can somebody explain to me the reasoning behind letting prisoners out?
Oh, probably just to contribute the general chaos of the apocalyptic future...you know, like Mad Max and such.

A friend in MI found out he’s positive. Interestingly, he severely cut his hand on a mower blade last week, requiring an ER visit. He has no idea where his point of contact was. Made me wonder, can Covid enter thru an open wound? Not in this case, but if someone has a small cut & leaves it uncovered, then touches a contaminated item?

I was surprised to read somewhere recently that "hair" was included in the list of eyes, nose and mouth. It must because hair can get into your eyes (blown by wind, etc.) and then we touch it. JMO.

I hesitated to post this as I don't want any negativity towards my family at this time, but my niece and her husband live in Harlem in a basement apartment.

He is a speech therapist, she is an actress on Broadway.

She is 7 months pregnant with her first child (its a Girl!)

When the talk of closing NYC down was in the news this past weekend, they made their escape from NYC. Leaving at 3 am, driving to my sister's house (her mom) in Northern VA. Her husband pumped gas with disposable gloves, my niece used the potty only on the side of the road. They stopped for nothing else.

They are safe at my sisters home (thank God!) ..my sister's gyn took over her care and she will give birth in a hospital out there. She has gone for her first appointment and ultrasound already in VA. They made her wait in the car and only take in one patient at a time, so when that one leaves, they clean up and then call them in their car to come in. That's all I know so far.

They are doing a semi quarantine at my sisters home for 14 days, but its difficult she says, because she makes them food...still they are doing the best they can and my sister lives in a McMansion, so they have already transformed a bunch of rooms into a little apartment for them. Only thing is my sister wishes now that they had finished their basement long ago...

I don't see where they will be able to return to the city any time in the future. I jokingly told my sister that they will at least be there until baby girl is one year old. I can think of worst things...at least she will have lots of help and what a chance to be there for your first grandchild!

Just some insight of what is going on out there. My whole family was on pins and needles during this 3am trip of theirs out of the city getting posts as they were traveling.

Just got back from Publix, and I feel like the meanest woman in town.

I was looking at mushrooms, and a women came up, six inches away, and asked if they were good for shishkabob. Said 'I don't know' and moved away. Seconds later she is right on top of me again. I moved away and said 'please stay further away from me'. She looked absolutely shocked and hurt. I think she left the store.

I don't know what else I could have done. She would have been in my personal space in ordinary times. The store has signage, people are wearing masks and gloves ~ does she live under a rock?

I'm done shopping for quite a while.

News of President Vladimir Putin releasing nearly 800 lions and tigers on the streets of Russian cities went viral on social media.

The fake news, many believed was real, reported that the Russian president warned the citizens by unleashing the lions and tigers on the streets to stop them from going outside during the current coronavirus pandemic.

Fake video of lions and tigers on the streets in Russia creates panic online

It probably just entered its normal way because he was in the ER, with other people waiting that probably had it.

Another thing I found interesting was, I went out of the house on my weekly trip to a farm stand that you drive up to, stay in your car, they have a prepacked bag of produce and fruit that you pay one price for (it changes all the time too which I like) they put it in your car and off you go...so I did that and then stopped to pickup an order at my Kroger store that I had made a week before (yes, it took that long to get a time slot!)...and as I was leaving Kroger, my car wouldn't start...yikes..I was pretty worried, since I am making minimal if any contact with people...but I called my service and the guy was great...they said - dont get out of the car, keep your windows up, dont dare shake hands...he just popped the hood, jumped the car and came to the closed window and asked my name, clicked something on his phone and that was it...i didn't have to sign or anything..whew!!

Don't feel bad. If she doesn't know about social distancing by now, she shouldn't be out shopping. By the way it provides another reason to wear PPE. I bet if you were donning mask, gloves, and safety goggles, she wouldn't be asking you if mushrooms are good for shishkabobs.

@Silly Billy
Can you tell me why my post was deleted or where it went?
It’s was about bio-dynamic gardening, cut and come again lettuce, spinach, and Stella Natura calendar & 3 sisters’ planting of corn, beans and squash. Can’t find it.

Some things I never thought about...

Many house cleaners, nannies, and even some in-family day care at home work "under the table." No pay and no unemployment benefits.

Right, I know his didn’t enter through his wound, but if a person does have an uncovered cut, can it? Lol, I told him he should have chosen a less deadly time to inflict such an injury.
It probably just entered its normal way because he was in the ER, with other people waiting that probably had it.

PM Trudeau did his daily briefing today and in a somewhat understated fashion indicated that this matter is being dealt with between US Administration and Canada. He hinted that withdrawal of goods and services is a two way street. As of this morning, it sounds as if the issue is being worked out between the two countries.
Thank you, that is reassuring. Canada is our neighbor and partner. We must maintain a strong relationship and take care of each other.

Moo...

I think this was a wise decision. My step-niece and family are still in NYC with a child only months old. Family tried to get them to leave, but they thought this would pass. Now they are stuck inside a small apartment, and, as you stated, this could be a long haul.

Some of us attract "talkers" more than others. People have to learn that it is about safety and not to take it as being unfriendly. I have never really liked being approached like you in the past. I usually try to smile and get out of the area quickly. You have a right to ask her to give you some space!
