I just got an interesting call from my doctor. I saw him Wednesday (non-covid related) and he asked if I wanted an antibody test since I had been in Europe in early January. I said sure, why not? They were taking blood anyway.

IgM - Negative
IgG - Positive

Other than a little jet-lag/fatigue when I returned from Germany I've never had any covid symptoms at all. False positive...?

This has happened so many times to so many people, it worries me about the quality control of these mass produced tests.

On the effectiveness of plexiglass in viral transmission. (It helps, virus under study was ebola - same mechanisms of transmission as CoVid).

And a nifty graph on breathing vs masks:

Monkeys steal coronavirus blood samples in India

Monkeys steal coronavirus blood samples in India

LUCKNOW, India (Reuters) - A troop of monkeys in India attacked a medical official and snatched away blood samples of patients who had tested positive for the novel coronavirus, authorities said on Friday.

The attack occurred this week when a laboratory technician was walking in the campus of a state-run medical college in Meerut, 460 km (285 miles) north of Lucknow, capital of Uttar Pradesh state.
...
Authorities said they were not clear if the monkeys had spilled the blood samples, but people living near the leafy campus feared further spread of the virus if the monkeys carried the samples into residential areas.

"No evidence has been found that monkeys can contract the infection," Garg told Reuters.
Maybe that's how it got out of the Wuhan lab - stolen by monkeys.

Regarding the "no evidence that monkeys can contract the infection" statement, aren't we using monkeys to test the vaccines in trials? How will the test on the vaccine work if it is not possible to infect them anyway?

Coronavirus Chicago: Rats starved by pandemic invading homes, experts warn

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a warning about "aggressive" rats looking for food during the pandemic. As the rodents find their way inside homes, experts share how you can defend yourself against the tiny invaders.

"Tiny Invaders"?! I grew up on the North Shore in a Chicago suburb, rats there, some of them are the size of a racoon. They can be huge, down by the lake, because the food is prolific, garbage left by people who go to the beach, dead fish on the sand.

No wonder they are starving. Scary.

Are you watching Arizona? The IMHE forecast says they won't hit their peak until mid-July! It's almost entirely the Phoenix area so far. But they are predicted to have 4,300+ deaths by mid-August.

Brazil is crazy because no effort is made to diagnose why people are dying in many places - it's a huge nation and only a few people have access to that kind of healthcare.

And did you see that article about the huge amount of CoVid in Florida's wastewater? Using that as a rough estimate of the spread of CoVid, researchers think way way more people in Florida are positive for CoVid right now. Excess death studies are not broken down by state for the past month - it will be interesting when that happens.

Florida numbers are being hidden. The deaths by "pneumonia" for the past two months were almost twice as much as for year long counts in previous years. I don't think we will be able to get the real data. For this reason, most of people I know here feel we cannot believe any of the estimates of what is coming up. The doctor I love to watch from the UK (Dr Campbell) had recently predicted Florida as one of 4 major areas of continuing of climbing numbers... but not sure where he got his numbers either.
Florida forced medical examiners to stop reporting death results, and now we know why

The only true method of determining the effect of Coronavirus in Florida would be a comparison of aggregate data, true death figures for Florida for February, March, April, May 2020, compared with true death statistics for the state of Florida for February, March, April, May from 2015 to 2019.

Which, for some reason, are impossible to find online. Links for that data used to be available. It was hardly a secret. Now, those same links, lead to pages with "404 Error", removed. This is not in MSM. I was interested, and tried to find the data. Nada.

This does give aggregate past data. But I have not been able to find the numbers for 2020.

99% chance that coronavirus vaccine will work, says Chinese firm

Chinese scientists working on a COVID-19 vaccine have told Sky News they are "99%" sure it will be effective.

Sinovac, a Beijing-based biotech company, currently has its coronavirus vaccine in stage 2 trials, with more than 1,000 volunteers participating. Sky News is the first British broadcaster to visit its labs.

The company also said it is in preliminary talks to hold stage 3 trials - the final part of the trials process - in the UK.

Here's the peer reviewed journal article if you'd like to read the actual research study.

Antibody Test for IgG
This test detects IgG antibodies that develop in most patients within seven to 10 days after symptoms of COVID-19 begin. IgG antibodies remain in the blood after an infection has passed. These antibodies indicate that you may have had COVID-19 in the recent past and have developed antibodies that may protect you from future infection. It is unknown at this point how much protection antibodies might provide against reinfection.

Antibody Test for IgM
This test detects IgM antibodies. IgM is usually the first antibody produced by the immune system when a virus attacks. A positive IgM test indicates that you may have been infected and that your immune system has started responding to the virus. When IgM is detected you may still be infected, or you may have recently recovered from a COVID-19 infection.

The Difference between Tests for COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

I believe the antibody tests are likely to have false negatives vs false positives. No link just moo
