I don't see it on my iPhone, but it's old (a 5S) and doesn't get automatic updates any more.
I see it on mine but you can't just slide the button and turn it on. It says you also have to download an authorized app.

There has been some misinformation floating around that wearing a mask affects your oxygen supply. I saw this clearly debunked by a physician that said if this were the case, doctors, dentists and everyone else who wears a mask would have been passing out.

Safety from what, fire?o_O

Why do they need chairs anyway? Other parks mark circles or squares on the ground six feet apart and people bring their own chairs or blankets.

Besides, who would even want to watch fireworks in uncomfortable chairs shoulder to shoulder?

Someone needs a new party planner.
It is fire and crowd control so the chairs don't get knocked over and become a trip hazard. Also, some people cannot stand for long periods, eg disabled or elderly.

Oh my! anyone else see the chairs for tonight's "event" they are zip tied together. It was explained as a safety precaution. In the event folks have to leave the area quickly. I guess they see the chairs as a hazard but not the virus :eek:

Lol, even in this situation you continue to make me laugh out loud.
You are awesome, Bravo. So glad hubby is doing well. And grandbaby coming soon! Woohoo!

This is a coronavirus thread, which is nothing to do with that specific issue though. The governor of the state is in agreement for this event to go ahead. There should be no further debate. The only issue for this thread is whether it is a superspreader event.
Thanks for the mind set

They can leave a space between groups or individuals like they do on church benches.

It seems that being an outdoor event is now not enough. At the Tulsa and Arizona events, Trump was being criticized for not having the gigs outdoors, and the argument was that made the protests OK.

Today I got an email from a senior living facility (independent and assisted living) in our town where a good friend lives. They haven’t allowed visitors in months and we haven’t been notified that visitors are allowed. The email was an invitation to a July 4th Celebration...BBQ at noon, brass band on the smallish patio at 2:30 and fireworks at 6:30....Whaaaaaaat?!!!

I know the management staff, so I replied to the email asking if it had been sent in error, since we hadn’t been told they were allowing visitors. I said “This sounds like quite a gathering!” There was no mention of masks or social distancing, although I know they have been diligent about that. And with about 200 residents and possible guests...say it isn’t so! The Oregon Governor would have a cow. I hope that it was a plan they had months ago pre-Covid and the email had been set to send automatically. Otherwise, I will forget about the flowers I was going to send to the director and staff to thank them for being terrific and having no cases.

Replying to my own post to follow up. This morning I got an email from the facility with an amended invitation explaining that the BBQ and brass band were for the residents only. Guests could come to the fireworks at 6:30, but only 4 in a party, wearing masks and social distancing. I know the property surrounding the building well, and I’m wondering where they will set off fireworks and what kind. Real live fireworks are not allowed in the city limits...except at the public display that has been canceled. But I’m not curious enough to go and find out!

Thanks. DH had vasovagal syncope, which is fainting that occurs when your heart rate and blood pressure drop too low due to a trigger of some kind. His trigger was the the combination of heat, humidity, standing up for some time, and trying to sing while wearing a mask. He wasn't getting enough blood to the brain and passed out. I don't know whether this would have happened if he had not been wearing a mask--it might have happened anyway.
Poor guy. I have that, too. I had such a habit of passing out in formation when I was active duty that the squadron started leaving me out to save everyone the disruption. lol

I hope hubby is okay now.

What I meant, although it was from an historical point of view, it should not be happening. Worst historical place, worst medical place. Sorry if history is not anyone’s interest . Neither is it an epidemic nor logical well constructed concept. Argue as you will: too many people in the wrong (spiritual) place at the wrong time.

When DH was in Hospital he had a roommate he described as rather arrogant. Spoke of all his accolades and Boards he sat on. Including the very Hospital he was in. He told my husband he just needed to make a call and he could get his wife in. My Husband said if your Wife gets in then mine gets in. Roommate makes the call and was emphatically denied his wife visiting. My Husband said it really irked him when our Children popped in

That would be even better if they made their hair stand straight up, too.

ETA: referring to Tabitha's Rushmore pic.

Quoting myself--10rods!! So sorry I left you out and anyone else.

ALLLLLL of you I appreciate all of the information you provide every day.

And it's 94 degrees in Rapid City right now. Not virus friendly.
It’s 95 degrees in Houston. High humidity too.
It’s usually topping 100 this time of year.
