There seems to be quite a few people who are making major policy decisions about the way the United States government runs, and responds to the pandemic who are less qualified than my dog to make these decisions. Just saying.

Thanks for the laugh :D So true.

Patients giving "testimony" is not science. Science is objective, controlled studies to prove/disprove hypotheses. None of the "America's Frontline Doctors" crew has done any research to back their claims, nor do they quote any peer reviewed science to support their claims. On top of that, they are an arm of the Tea Party Patriots Foundation, a political group, not a medical one.
They are or were frontline doctors, the bios that have been shared anyway. I am more interested in results than science. Science is still working out the best way to treat and vaccinate this despite 16 million cases and more than half a million deaths worldwide in just 6 months. So far it has science beaten. MOO

Kind of minor in the scheme of things, but has anyone found the perfect face mask THAT WON'T FOG UP YOUR GLASSES?

I've spent over $100 trying to find a mask that will not fog up my glasses. I wear reading glasses all day at work and it can be so frustrating! I tried so many kinds and I am not a seamstress, lol.

Dip your glasses in a sudsy bowl of water, then let them dry. Use a soft cloth to gently buff them once they are dry. It works like a charm to keep glasses unfogged.

Of course covid has science beaten, for now. Viruses have had millions, if not billions, of years of evolution to become extremely efficient at what they do. To expect science to conquer a virus with hundreds or thousands or millions of years head start in 6 months is simply unrealistic.

She is asking her patients to give testimony. Her religious views don't interest me but her patient results do, especially as she is in a current hotspot (Houston ).

Either this woman should not be seeing patients or I should ask my daughter-in-law why she's been cheating on my son with a demon, since she developed endometriosis.

I doubt that people will be able to take them on their own since they are prescription drugs.

i have heard reports that some patients do fight with their doctors to get it though. I would think most doctors would refuse until real research is finalized...but ya never know. moo... I think I hear this on a news broadcast, not print...so have to say moo.

No slowing down today in South Carolina. :(

DHEC announced 1,666 new COVID-19 cases, 48 additional deaths

"The recent spike in cases in South Carolina is not just due to more testing, DHEC officials have said repeatedly. Percent positive refers to the number of people who test positive for COVID-19 in relation to the number of tests being performed. The percent positive has remained high since early June.

DHEC says the percent positive from 8,360 tests reported to them statewide Tuesday was 19.9% (not including antibody tests).

When daily case numbers are high and the percent positive is high, that indicates more virus spread in the community, DHEC said."

Coronavirus: Sturgeon reveals there is a possible 'cluster' of cases in Glasgow

A possible "cluster" of coronavirus cases is being looked into in Glasgow, the Scottish first minister has revealed.

Some 14 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the city in the last 24 hours, among a total of 22 across Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon said at her daily press conference.

She added that it is thought the cluster of COVID-19 cases are linked to a particular location, and that an assessment group is investigating the outbreak.

"I can't stand here right now and tell you that there is no risk of onward spread, if I was satisfied about that it wouldn't be a potential cluster under investigation," Ms Sturgeon added.

"We will put more information into the public domain as soon as we can if there is an issue that is genuinely causing concern and needing to be investigated."

Glasgow City Council was unable to comment on the potential cases.

Daily cases in Scotland have not exceeded 30 since 4 June, and the country frequently records single-figure numbers of positive tests.

Wow! Thanks! I will try this. Do I have to keep doing it throughout the day?

17 Florida Doctors Contract Coronavirus After Attending Private Party — Newsweek

“As novel coronavirus cases in Florida continue to surge, surpassing 451,000, nearly 20 health workers from the anesthesiology department at the University of Florida Health (UF Health) have contracted the virus after reportedly attending a private party.”

(Would this be considered a “Covid” party?)

“In the statement to Newsweek, UF Health said: "UF Health educates our faculty, staff and students on best practices to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 on and off-duty. Our goal is to minimize the spread of the illness on our campus and in our community, recognizing that it's impossible to prevent all cases given the way pandemics naturally work.”

I’m thinking they need to review their “best practices” - maybe use flash cards?

Yes it is impossible to prevent all cases, but to deliberately court the pandemic?

High school graduates told to quarantine after their outdoor graduation

Bayside High School in Palm Bay, Florida, held an outdoor graduation ceremony for seniors last Saturday, an event that appeared to mostly adhere to coronavirus safety guidelines.

However, someone who attended the event tested positive for the coronavirus shortly after the ceremony.

As a precaution, the health department told parents their children need to "quarantine at home for 14 days from their last day of attendance at the facility."

Three Florida universities among top 10 with coronavirus cases

The group included the University of Central Florida with the second-most cases, the University of Florida with the fifth-most and the University of South Florida coming in at No. 7.

The newspaper surveyed every public four-year college in the U.S., along with Division I private colleges and elite research institutions, for a total of 270 institutions. It found 6,300 coronavirus cases reported at those locations since the beginning of the pandemic.

The University of Texas at Austin topped the list with 449 cases.

Covid 19 is a virus from other viruses. It is not supernatural so I don't believe it is a sign from a God. I do believe peoples actions can play into how things turn out with this virus. I hope people can come together in agreeing what can help to keep everyone safe. Blame gets us no where. We are all individuals with our own actions and ideas. Harder to deal with that happening. Changes are needed somehow, I think most of us agree. A vaccine is more than likely going to be slow to arrive. We must love one another where we can, throw out selfishness, differences and anger. Most people want to be loved, fed, healthy and safe. Common in most of us, which means we know people that are being careless or stubborn are actually afraid of something - maybe we do not clearly see what it is. If we stop trying to solve issues as to how people should handle mask wearing etc and just start being kind without blame maybe we would have more turning towards our behavior and can heal. As far as famine, locusts need certain ideal weather conditions and are not new. Makes the matter worse with this virus battle. I don't believe they are any sign as some people may feel. Some places think they are a good food source. There are people that are helping with the problem. Remember that we still can appreciate the people that do help with hard times that we face. We are not alone, I see some good in people through the sadness there is also so much genuine love around. Sometimes we are so closed in by fear that the feeling of love or being secure with what we can do for ourselves and others gets buried. We are clouded by doom and gloom rather than giving out positive things that we all have to share, love, joy, kindness. Fear takes that away, being afraid won't make things get better or keep us safe. We can still take measures as being our own judge to what keeps us safe or others safe and let it go if we all don't do the same thing. Hopefully more will join similar habits to our own. Keep love in your heart, try to see the good in people. Like I said most people want what you want love and basic needs. We can't always figure out their thinking.

Of course, even doctors still don't get it IMO. FL is and will continue to be a hot mess. At least some local leadership is demonstrating intelligence by mandating masks and social distancing. I've mentioned before the b-ballers playing hoops everyday at the park on my way to the office - no shirts, sweaty - it makes me so angry that they are going home to their families who are then going to work possibly - and the spread continues. But we are allowed to exercise outside without masks. I took that to mean I could walk, bicycle or run without one - not that I could gather with my friends and play basketball. sigh.

My daughter attends one of those FL universities. She will be living at home for fall semester, but as of right now has 2 classes that are still scheduled to be in-person. One of them needs to be (I'm not sure how they could possibly do it remotely), but I'll be interested to see if the other one changes to remote.
